A garment with configurable shoulder sections is disclosed. The shoulder sections may generally be configured in at least an open configuration and a closed configuration. This may allow the garment to be placed on a person's body without having to manipulate the person's arms and hands through the sleeves, or head and neck through a top opening. The garment also includes a finger-pocket snap attachment mechanism positioned on the shoulder sections.

A stretchable baby garment includes a garment body and collar with a V-shaped gap at the upper back and a triangular gusset and neck band attached across the V-shaped gap. The garment body and collar are made of a first fabric. The gusset and neck band are made of a second fabric more elastic than the first fabric. An infant garment comprising a front and a back that are sewn together at edges of the front and back such that the garment can be worn by an infant. The back is entirely composed of a three layer compound material that is bonded together. The three layer compound material is composed of two layers of fabric that has been treated with an antimicrobial treatment and one layer of waterproof material between the two layers of fabric. The front can be partially composed of said three layer compound material in areas corresponding to the infant's belly when the garment is worn by the infant. The infant garment can be made so that the compound material is removable.

A method for swaddling and a baby garment having pouches along opposite sides of the baby garment sufficiently large to accommodate enclosing a baby's arm. The pouch has openings that can be closed so as to allow the arms to be free while the baby is awake, and secure the arms inside the pouch against the baby's body while the baby is sleeping. The pouches can be opened and closed with typical fasteners. The pouches can have some elasticity to allow the pouches to stretch.
