Device and Method for Calculating Optimum Values Using a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) Control Loop
A device and method for calculating optimum values using a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control loop. A user may select from a list of manufacturers, devices, systems and applications. The user selects the appropriate combination, and a set of parameters from a pre-populated database is loaded. The user may adjust any of the default values if so desired. The present invention also provides the ability to adjust optional fields based on specific manufacture PID algorithms, such as minimum output and maximum output, PID execution rate, and percentage of stage capacity per design. Optimum PID parameters are calculated based on the specific device and optional field values and are used by a PID control unit to have the device efficiently achieve desired results.
Method and configuration environment for supporting the configuration of an interface between simulation hardware and an external device
A method for supporting a configuration of an interface is provided, wherein the configuration environment has an overview region that has several subregions. At least one item of information concerning a part of the configuration is displayed in each subregion. For each subregion, an item of information concerning the part of the configuration associated with the subregion is displayed. In the case of a warning and/or error message, a configuration option is displayed so as to be selectable, via which the warning/error message is resolved. The selection of the displayed configuration option causes a functionality to be started via which the displayed configuration option is made possible. In the case of a change in the status of a subregion, the display of the status and/or warning and/or error message and a configuration option derived therefrom in one subregion or several subregions is automatically updated and adapted to the changed status.
DYNAMIC CREATION OF PLANT CONTROL GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE AND PLANT CONTROL LOGIC
Method and systems for dynamically generating or editing a graphical dashboard via a graphical user interface (GUI) setup are provided. The method includes determining a type of a plant through the GUI setup, determining a configuration of the plant through the GUI setup, determining at least one component of the plant through the GUI setup, and configuring parameters of the at least one component and/or the plant through the GUI setup. The method also includes generating the dashboard including a plant control logic of the plant based on the type, the configuration, the at least one component, and the parameters of the at least one component and/or the plant. The method further includes controlling the plant based on the plant control logic.
INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
When a first reference item is selected, an information processing device duplicates a second reference item associated with a second setting screen belonging to another setting category related to a component, which is a setting target of a first setting screen associated with the first reference item, and duplicates a third reference item associated with a third setting screen, of which a setting target is another component electrically or mechanically connected to the component being the setting target of the first setting screen. The information processing device duplicates and collectively displays one or multiple reference items including at least one of the second reference item and the third reference item.
Remote deployment and commissioning of workstations within a distributed control system
A method and a system facilitate remote commissioning of workstations for controlling, maintaining, and/or configuring process control field devices in a process control plant. Using a configuration workstation coupled to the workstation by a communication network, a user may specify a configuration for the workstation in software and, upon selecting the workstation for commissioning, can effect configuration of the workstation, according to the specified configuration, remotely from the configuration workstation. Effecting configuration of the workstation may include installing/updating an operating system, installing/updating an operator, maintenance, or configuration interface application, and/or installing/updating a process plant configuration. Upon completion of the configuration, the workstation is operable to communicate with a process controller to implement control, maintenance, and/or configuration of the process control plant.
Information processing device, display control method, and program
There is provided an information processing device to enable a user to intuitively perform an operation of setting a linked operation of hardware elements or software elements, the information processing device including: a display control unit configured to cause a plurality of icons indicating hardware elements or software elements that perform a linked operation together, and a link connecting the plurality of icons to each other to be displayed. A spatial sequence of the plurality of icons formed by the link corresponds to a temporal sequence of operations of the software elements or the hardware elements indicated by the plurality of icons.
Configuration element for graphic elements
A configuration element is presented on a configuration display view for configuring a graphic element object. The graphic element object is to be instantiated on a process control display view, and corresponds to a process entity in a process plant. The configuration element object has a set of properties for an attributed of the graphic element object and includes a link to a configuration display object from which the configuration display view is instantiated. The instantiation of the configuration element object includes a visual representation of the set of properties for the attribute of the graphic element object, and a link to the graphic element object to send data corresponding to a property configured in the configuration element from the set of properties. The configured property corresponds to at least one configured attribute of the graphic element.
SYSTEM AND COMPUTER-IMPLEMENTED METHOD TO GENERATE A CONFIGURATION FOR EXTERNAL DATAPOINT ACCESS
A computer-implemented method for generating a configuration for external datapoint access is provided, whereby the configuration includes at least one datapoint within an automation system, including: a) searching for and capturing at least one input and/or output field; b) extracting annotation data near to a visualized automation process value in a found I/O-field and surrounding the I/O-field; c) attributing extracted annotation data to at least one datapoint within the automation system; d) providing a data scheme built with via edges linked components representing elements of the user interface surface; e) querying a search through the data scheme for one or more visualized pre-selected automation process values and f) generating a configuration with at least one datapoint along with linked supplemental information as a result from the search; and g) outputting the configuration in an automation system readable and/or computer-readable format.
USER INTERFACE, METHOD AND HTML CODE FOR PARAMETERIZATION OF AN AUTOMATION UNIT
A user interface for parameterization of an automation unit; a display and a processor which is programmed to output a primary dialogue and secondary dialogues graphically on the display, the primary dialogue mapping to a basic function of the automation unit, and each secondary dialogue mapping to a following function which is necessary for performance of the basic function, and including interaction elements, by means of which the automation unit are parameterised so that the following function are performed, and for each secondary dialogue the primary dialogue provides a selection element, actuation of which enables the secondary dialogue in question to be accessed directly from the primary dialogue. The primary dialogue gives a user a work overview with familiar concepts of an application domain in the form of utility functions. This reduces the learning effort and mental strain when the user is performing the task.
