INSERTABLE ENDOSCOPIC INSTRUMENT FOR TISSUE REMOVAL
An improved flexible endoscopic instrument to precisely and efficiently obtains samples of flat polyps and multiple polyps from a patient by debriding one or more polyps and retrieving the debrided polyps without having to alternate between using a separate cutting tool and a separate sample retrieving tool and may be used with an endoscope. In one aspect, the cutting tool is coupled to a flexible torque coil or torque rope that is configured to transfer rotational energy from a powered actuator through the length of the endoscope onto the cutting tool.
Punch biopsy device
A hand held instrument for harvesting a biopsy sample is provided. The instrument includes a housing, an annular blade on a distal end of said housing for cutting axially cutting a biopsy, a transverse blade unit for transversely cutting the biopsy, and a plunger unit positioned within the housing ejecting the biopsy sample away from inside the housing after said biopsy sample has been transversely cut.
SEGMENTATION INSTRUMENT AND CONTROLLER
A tissue segmentation device comprises segmenting wires, a grasper, an introducer tube that is shaped and sized to allow introduction of the segmenting wires and the grasper into a patient incision, a specimen bag configured to be deployed through the introducer tube and into the patient incision, at least one actuator positioned adjacent a proximal end of the introducer tube and coupled to proximal portions of the segmenting wires and the grasper, and wherein the at least one actuator is configured for manipulating the grasper to grasp a tissue specimen prior to or during tissue segmentation, wherein manipulation of the grasper further enables pulling the tissue specimen into the segmenting wires for segmentation, positioning the tissue specimen such that it contacts the segmenting wires, and/or enabling placement of the tissue specimen in the bag.
Multi-Orientation Razor Blade
A multi-orientation razor. The multi-orientation includes a substantially flat metal blade member being frangible about a central axis. The substantially flat metal blade member can have on a first peripheral edge thereof a first straight sharp edge. The first straight sharp edge can be parallel to the central axis. The first peripheral edge further includes a first concavely curved sharp edge. The substantially flat metal blade member can have on a second peripheral edge thereof a second straight sharp edge. The second straight sharp edge can be parallel to the central axis. The second peripheral edge can further include a second concavely curved sharp edge.
Biopsy needle assembly for reducing starting load when motor changes direction
The present invention relates to a biopsy needle assembly and, more specifically, to a structure of a biopsy needle assembly for reducing a starting load which improves vibration and noise during a procedure and minimizes irritation to a lesion by, when a motor is operated to move a cutter forward/backward while rotating the cutter, stopping motor rotation and reducing an instantaneous load during an initial operation so as to reduce a firing (starting) load of the motor.
ADVANCED MINIMALLY INVASIVE MULTI-FUNCTIONAL ROBOTIC SURGICAL DEVICES AND METHODS
Minimally invasive, multi-functional robotic surgical tool devices for use as lavaging, material aspiration or delivery surgical forceps, scissors or clamp or other device, consisting of a monolithic work element and open central lumen with various functional tips. Such devices may in use follow a central lumen of another device or over a wire in a longitudinal direction upon introduction to a body. Flush and vacuum transport mechanisms, imaging mechanisms or energy source mechanisms may be incorporated. Inner and outer sheaths which may be co-axially disposed relative to a work element may be configured to actuate a beak or beaks and provisions for simultaneous beak closing under rotation may be incorporated.
SEALANT PLUG DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
A plug delivery system and method of use. The plug delivery device includes a support leg, a plunger, and an extractor. The support leg includes an internal receiving space configured to receive an implanted coaxial needle assembly through an opening in the distal end. The plunger extends at least partially through the internal receiving space of the support leg and has a longitudinally adjustable relation with respect to the support leg. The extractor is also configured to translate in a longitudinal direction with respect to the support leg and has a needle connection component configured to engage the coaxial needle assembly. The extractor can be moved distally in the longitudinal direction to engage the coaxial needle assembly and then moved distally to concurrently retract the coaxial needle assembly while the plunger remains relatively stationary to deploy the sealant plug residing in the coaxial needle assembly.
Biopsy gun
A biopsy gun having a cannula and a stylet guided in the cannula comprises the following a housing, a cannula carriage for moving the cannula, a stylet carriage for moving the stylet, a tensioning grip for tensioning the cannula carriage and the stylet carriage from an initial position into a tensioning position, and an engaging member that is provided on the tensioning grip and has recesses adapted to engage with corresponding projections of the cannula carriage and the stylet carriage. The engaging member is rotatably attached to the tensioning grip and is biased by a spring against a contact surface of the housing.
BIOPSY INSTRUMENT, KIT OF PARTS AND METHOD
A biopsy instrument (1) comprising a base member (10) which extends from a proximal end (10a) to a distal end (10b) along a central geometrical axis (A), wherein at least a distal end portion (10b′) of the base member (10) is shaped as an elongated hollow tube (10), the distal end (10b) being intended to be at least partly inserted into a tissue (50) from which a biopsy is to be obtained, wherein the elongated hollow tube (10) is provided with a distally facing circular cutting edge (11) defining a mouth (10c) of the distal end (10b) of the elongated hollow tube (10), wherein the elongated hollow tube (10) has, at a distal portion (10b′) of the elongated hollow tube (10), a hollow elongated tubular sample acquiring portion (10b′) having a smooth interior surface (12). The disclosure also relates to a kit of parts and a method of acquiring a biopsy.
