MECHANICAL INTERFACE DEVICE TO BONE STRUCTURE WITH AN INTEGRATED TARGETING REFERENCE, ALLOWING FOR SURGICAL DEVICE ATTACHMENT
Device 1 for fixation to the skull 2 of a patient that can serve as a fiducial marker in scan guided surgical operations using a surgical instrument. The device 1 comprises a material translucent for the applied electromagnetic waves of the scan and a fiducial marker and where the device 1 comprises means to fixate the device in a well-defined manner to the surgical instrument.
ARRAY COIL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD
In a medical image diagnostic apparatus according to an embodiment, an array coil includes a first substrate and a second substrate. At least one coil element is formed on the first substrate. The second substrate is a substrate different from the first substrate, and is laminated on the first substrate. At least one coil element is formed on the second substrate. A first coil element formed on the first substrate intersects with a second coil element formed on the second substrate in plan view from a laminating direction from the second substrate laminated on the first substrate toward the first substrate.
FRONT-LOADABLE FLUID TRANSFER ASSEMBLIES AND RELATED MEDICAL FLUID TRANSFER SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Devices for transferring fluid to or from a subject include a plunger assembly coupled to or coupleable to a cannula assembly to allow target fluid to be “front-loaded” into a distal end of the cannula assembly while the stylet is withdrawn a distance to create a vacuum and define a flow channel.
DEVICE FOR REALIGNMENT, STABILIZATION, AND PREVENTION OF PROGRESSION OF ABNORMAL SPINE CURVATURE
A magnetic screw device of a bone screw and one or more magnets that are attached to the bone screw. The bone screw may have a stem, which comprises a connector and at least one thread, and a housing assembly. The connector of the stem may be configured to articulate with the housing assembly such that the stem can rotate and angulate relative to the housing assembly. The magnetic screw device may be used to treat or stabilize spines with abnormal curvature, prevent further curvature progression, and relieve pain associated with abnormal curvature.
MRI-compatible surgical cannulae for transferring a substance to and/or from a patient
A cannula for transferring a substance to and/or from a patient includes a tubular support sleeve and a transfer tube. The support sleeve includes a rigid tubular member defining a lumen extending from a proximal end to a distal end of the tubular member. The transfer tube is positioned in the lumen and extends beyond each of the proximal end and the distal end of the tubular member. The tubular member includes a rigid, MRI-compatible material.
TRAJECTORY GUIDE WITH DOUBLE X-Y SLIDING TABLES
A trajectory guiding apparatus and one or more methods associated therewith for facilitating precision-guided alignment and implantation of a DBS therapy device in a patient. A base plate and base frame combination provides a platform for a dual-stage slider (DSS) assembly comprising a bottom stage slider (BSS) table and a top stage slider (TSS) table that each have suitably sized apertures or orifices therethrough for allowing the passage of and securely holding an instrumentation column (IC) assembly whose translational movement (i.e., sideways or forward and/or backward directions along a translational plane) and pivotal/rotational movement (i.e., around a perpendicular axis orthogonal to the translational plane and extending through a pivot or fulcrum) are independently controlled by respective slide actuators in order to properly align the IC assembly to a desired trajectory.
Methods for Biomedical Targeting and Delivery and Devices and Systems for Practicing the Same
The present disclosure provides methods for targeting a biomedical system. Aspects of the subject methods include determining the trajectory of a targeting device using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of a MRI-visible style of a trajectory guide that is compatible with the targeting device. Targeted biomedical systems may be utilized for a variety of purposes including targeted delivery of a therapeutic, holding a therapeutic device, positioning of a therapeutic device and other uses. Also provided are devices and systems that can be used in practicing the described methods including but not limited to trajectory guides and adjustable targeting systems, as well as non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing device, cause a computing device to perform steps of the described methods.
MEDICAL IMPLANT ATTACHMENT MECHANISM
An attachment mechanism for a medical implant system may include a first part fixedly attached to a distal end of an elongate shaft, the first part having a first longitudinal lumen configured to slidably receive a release wire disposed within the elongate shaft, and a second part fixedly attached to a proximal end of a medical implant, the second part having a second longitudinal lumen configured to slidably receive the release wire. A tubular distal portion of the second part may include an engagement feature configured to non-releasably engage the second part with the medical implant.
Disposable biopsy unit
A biopsy device includes a housing, a probe assembly, and an insert aid. The probe includes a biopsy needle unit, a vacuum pressure-generating device, and a flexible connection tube that connects the biopsy needle unit to the vacuum pressure-generating device. The insert aid device has a body that defines a pair of cradles configured to respectively receive the biopsy needle unit and the vacuum pressure-generating device, and configured to orient the biopsy needle unit to lie parallel to the vacuum pressure-generating device in the insert aid device for insertion of the biopsy needle unit and the vacuum pressure-generating device into the housing.
Vascular cages and methods of making and using the same
A vascular cage comprises a self-expandable frame including a plurality of elongated flexible bands. The frame is configured to transition between a compressed configuration and an expanded configuration. The expanded frame may form a three-dimensional cage configured to surround an interior volume as the frame is deployed. At least some of the plurality of bands may have a substantially rectangular cross-section.
