Circular surgical stapler with mating anvil and shell assembly
A surgical stapler comprising a handle assembly, an elongated body portion extending distally from the handle assembly, and a head portion disposed adjacent a distal portion of the elongated body portion and including an anvil assembly and a shell assembly. The anvil assembly is movable in relation to the shell assembly between spaced and approximated positions. The anvil assembly has an anvil head and a plurality of projections extending proximally of the anvil head, the projections engageable with a portion of the shell assembly.
Surgical implant devices and methods for their manufacture and use
An implantable vascular device comprises an expandable and compressible implant body, a housing, a rotatable member, and a locking member. The housing is coupled to a first end portion of the implant body. The rotatable member is coupled to the housing and to a second end portion of the implant body such that rotating the rotatable member relative to the housing and the implant body expands or contracts the implant body. The locking member is coupled to the rotatable member and configured to move between an unlocked state and a locked state. In the unlocked state, the locking member allows the rotatable member to be rotated relative to the housing and the implant body. In the locked state, the locking member prevents the rotatable member from being rotated relative to the housing and the implant body.
END EFFECTOR ASSEMBLY FOR A CIRCULAR STAPLER APPARATUS
An end effector assembly for use with a circular stapler apparatus permits alignment of the staple forming pockets of the anvil assembly and the staples of the staple cartridge assembly regardless of the relative orientation of the components. The end effector assembly includes a cartridge housing, a staple retainer having a plurality of staples arranged in a circular array, a staple pusher at least partially disposed within the cartridge housing and configured for movement through a firing stroke to eject the staples from the staple retainer, an anvil rod configured for coupling relative to the cartridge housing, and an anvil head including at least one continuous circular staple forming pocket. The staple forming pocket is in registration with the staples for at least partial reception of the staples during the firing stroke. The staple forming pocket is configured for at least partially deforming the staples.
Anvil assembly of circular stapling device including alignment splines
A tool assembly includes a cartridge assembly, a shell, and an anvil assembly. The shell houses the cartridge assembly and defines a passage. The shell includes alignment splines that are disposed within the passage and define channels between adjacent alignment splines. The anvil assembly includes an anvil and a center rod that extends from the anvil. The center rod defines a longitudinal axis and includes a first spline and second splines. The first spline includes a first leading facet that is configured to engage the alignment splines to clock the anvil assembly relative to the cartridge assembly. The second splines are radially spaced apart about the longitudinal axis. Each of the second splines includes a leading end that defines a plane that is substantially orthogonal to the longitudinal axis. The leading end is configured to crash with the alignments spines when the anvil assembly is misaligned with the cartridge assembly.
Loading unit with stretchable bushing
A shell assembly includes a housing, a cartridge, and a hollow bushing. The housing defines a longitudinal axis and a cavity. The cartridge is supported on the housing and includes a plurality of staples. The hollow bushing is positioned within the cavity of the housing. The hollow bushing includes a distal portion and a proximal portion formed of a rigid material, and an expandable portion that connects the distal and proximal portions. The hollow bushing has an initial configuration where the hollow bushing defines a first length along the longitudinal axis and a stretched configuration where the hollow bushing defines a second length along the longitudinal axis which is greater than the first length.

A device for attaching a primary implant as a fixation point for a vascular prosthesis on a vessel wall of a blood vessel, the device at least including a carrier element, which is designed to drive a plurality of penetration elements, for penetrating the vessel wall, radially outwards in relation to a longitudinal axis of the carrier element. In the device, a limiting element is formed on the carrier element as a radial stop for the penetration elements.
Apparatus and method for forming a staple line with trocar passageway
An apparatus includes a staple cartridge including a plurality of staples and a deck defining a plurality of openings. Each opening of the plurality of openings is associated with a corresponding staple of the plurality of staples, such that each staple is configured to pass through a corresponding opening of the plurality of openings. The apparatus further includes a deformable feature configured to be coupled to tissue in response to actuation of the staple cartridge. The deformable feature is configured to retain at least one outer portion of stapled tissue in an inwardly directed position relative to an inner portion of stapled tissue.

The present disclosure provides annular support structures for use in conjunction with stapling devices. These annular support structures may be suitable for reducing occurrences of leaking, bleeding and/or stricture, as well as anastomotic tension, when anastomosing various body structures.
Surgical Staplers and Related Methods
Surgical staplers and methods of their use are provided. In one embodiment, a surgical stapler includes a tubular shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, a handle extending from the proximal end of the tubular shaft, a head assembly extending from the distal end of the tubular shaft, and an insertion guide configured to extend through the head assembly. The insertion guide includes an expandable member configured to move between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration.
Prosthetic heart valve devices, prosthetic mitral valves and associated systems and methods
Devices and methods for implantation at a native mitral valve having a non-circular annulus and leaflets. One embodiment of the device includes a valve support having a first region configured to be attached to a prosthetic valve with a plurality of prosthetic leaflets and a second region. The device can further include an anchoring member having a longitudinal dimension and including a first portion configured to contact tissue at the non-circular annulus, a second portion configured to be attached to the valve support, and a lateral portion between the first portion and the second portion. The second portion of the anchoring member is attached to the second region of the valve support while in a low-profile configuration in which the anchoring member and the valve support are configured to pass through vasculature of a human. The lateral portion is transverse to the longitudinal dimension. The anchoring member and the valve support are configured to move from the low-profile configuration to an expanded configuration in which the first portion of the anchoring member at least partially adapts to the non-circular annulus of the native mitral valve and the first region of the valve support is spaced inwardly from the first portion of the anchoring member relative to the longitudinal dimension of the anchoring member such that a shape of the first region of the valve support is at least partially independent of a shape of the first portion of the anchoring member.
