MODULAR AND DEPTH-SENSING SURGICAL HANDPIECE

Disclosed herein are methods, systems, and apparatuses related to a computer-assisted surgical system including various hardware and software components working together to enhance surgical workflows. The disclosed techniques may be applied to, for example, shoulder, hip, and knee arthroplasties, as well as other surgical interventions. In one example, a device including a powered handheld device, a fixation mechanism, removably attached to the handheld device, and a surgical tool held by the fixation mechanism, wherein one or more combination surgical tools/fixation mechanisms are preoperatively attached to the handheld device and calibrated. In another example, a method includes for each of one or more surgical tools, placing the surgical tool in a fixation mechanism, attaching the fixation mechanism to a handheld device to create a surgical tool/fixation mechanism combination, calibrating the handheld device with the fixation mechanism and surgical tool, and storing the calibration information for the tool.

Multiple Connection Drive Shaft
20230301664 · 2023-09-28 ·

Disclosed is a system to engage a plurality of tools. In the system a drive shaft and collet may be assembled to engage and disengage, selectively, a plurality of tools. User selection may allow use of a plurality of tools during a procedure or during a plurality of procedures.

Oscillating surgical cutting tool

The present invention provides a cutting tool for surgical procedures. More specifically, the present invention provides a rotary surgical cutting tool which overcomes the disadvantages of prior art surgical cutting tools by providing a rotary cutting tool having straight flutes, with each side of the flute being provided with a cutting edge that permits cutting in both directions during limited oscillatory motion of the rotary surgical cutting tool. The areas between the cutting edges are provided with relief to reduce friction while the flute moves the cut material away from the cutting edges.

MEDICAL POWER TOOL

A medical power tool includes a motor, a first drive transmission part drive-transmitted from the motor, a second drive transmission part drive-transmitted from the first drive transmission part in a non-contact manner, a tool holding part holding a tool drive-transmitted from the second drive transmission part, a tool body having heat resistance, which is assembled so as to cover the first drive transmission part and the second drive transmission part, and the tool detachably mounted to the tool holding part and provided to protrude at a tip side in a longitudinal direction of the tool body.

SURGICAL GUIDE FOR USE IN LIGAMENT REPAIR PROCEDURES

Devices, systems, and methods are provided for ligament repair procedures, and can be used to establish a location and trajectory for forming a bone tunnel in bone. One exemplary embodiment of a surgical guide for using in a ligament repair procedure includes a guide arm and a carriage that can be selectively locked along the guide arm to define an angle of the bone tunnel. The guide arm also defines a location of a distal end of the bone tunnel. In some embodiments the carriage is configured to have a bullet side-loaded into it, and the bullet can be used to define a location of a proximal end of the bone tunnel. The present disclosure also provides for a gage that limits the distance a drill pin that drills the bone tunnel can travel. A variety of other, devices, systems, and methods are also provided.

Apparatus and kit for making holes at controlled depth and of different diameters on chondral and osteochondral surfaces

An apparatus and kit for making holes of controlled depth and different diameters on chondral and osteochondral surfaces, comprises: a reamer member (2) having a cutting head (3) for removing tissue from said chondral and osteochondral surface (A), said member (2) being mobile approaching the chondral and osteochondral surface (A) for arranging the head (3) at said tissue; guide means (4) for guiding the reamer member (2) that can be firmly associated with the chondral or osteochondral surface (A), said reamer member (2) being slidable along said guide means (4); and mechanical means (5) for controlling the depth of the hole interposed between the reamer member (2) and the guide means (4) for defining an end stop of the reamer member (2) in the respective movement towards said chondral and osteochondral surface (A).
