20230248373 · 2023-08-10 ·

The present disclosure relates to a surgical aiming device 1 that prevents a sleeve from being pushed backward or shaken when a drill or a leg screw is implanted after a guide sleeve is mounted on an aiming device. The surgical aiming device includes: a body 20 having an aiming arm 21 and a barrel 22; a guide sleeve 30 disposed at an end of the aiming arm 21 and guiding a nail 10 and a leg screw 12; and a knob 40 for detachably attaching the guide sleeve 30, in which the guide sleeve 30 can be detachably attached in a one-touch type by a guide sleeve attachment/detachment unit 100 installed at an end of the aiming arm. The guide sleeve attachment/detachment unit 100 includes: an operation unit 21a installed at an end of the aiming arm 21; a button 110 installed at the operation unit 21a and partially exposed to the outside; an operation lever 120 being rotated on a rotary shaft by operation of the button 110; and a threaded portion 30a controlled by the operation lever 120 and formed on the guide sleeve 30a.

Hip or shoulder prosthesis and placement instruments

A hip/shoulder prosthesis includes: a head component; a metaphyseal component; a diaphyseal nail, and a locking device. The head component includes: a front face and rear face; with a bore, and first and second shaped recesses in the rear face. The metaphyseal component includes: a central transverse aperture at an angle to the metaphyseal component's axis; a first end configured for threaded engagement within the bore of the head component; and a longitudinal hole that begins at the second end, transects the transverse aperture and reaches the first end, to receive the locking device. The diaphyseal nail is inserted in the femoral or humeral canal, and includes: fastening apertures that receive corresponding screws for fastening the diaphyseal nail to the femur or humerus; a portion configured to he received within, and engage, the transverse aperture of the metaphyseal component, and a transverse hole configured to receive the locking device.

Guide sleeve for fine axial adjustability of a fixation member, and related systems and methods

A guide sleeve for use in anchoring a fixation member to an intramedullary nail and to bone includes a sleeve body that is elongate along a central axis and has an internal surface that defines a bore extending along the central axis to a distal end of the sleeve body. The sleeve body also defines a plurality of guide channels that are each recessed radially outwardly from the internal surface and each include a helical proximal portion and a linear distal portion that extends from the helical proximal portion toward the distal end. The linear distal portion is parallel with the central axis. The guide channels are configured to receive respective complimentary followers of an instrument for driving the fixation member through the bore and subsequently through the intramedullary nail and into the bone.

Intramedullary nails, systems, and methods. The intramedullary nail may include a generally elongate body extending from a first, distal end to a second, proximal end. The distal end may include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the distal end intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the distal end of the nail. The proximal end may also include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the proximal end of the intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the proximal end of the nail. In some embodiments, the proximal opening may contain one or more relief cuts.

The invention features bone drill guides, sleeves, and methods of use thereof in inserting hardware into bones, in particular to repair bone defects. The bone drill guides are designed to seat firmly against bone while allowing translational, rotational, and angular movement during an operation. The bone drill guides also allow for insertion of multiple devices, such as guide wires, into bone at defined and constrained relative position.
