Trocar

Provided is a trocar. An end tool mounting member is provided to place an end tool of a surgical instrument thereon, thereby facilitating the insertion of the surgical instrument having multiple joints into the trocar.

Devices for performing minimally invasive surgery having bellows support housing

An access device for surgical procedures includes a multiport end cap having a rigid body with a flexible support sealingly mounted to the rigid body with a plurality of separate access ports for accommodating introduction of individual surgical instruments into a body of a patient. At least one of the access ports is sealingly attached to the flexible support and extends in a proximal direction therefrom. The flexible support is of a material more flexible than those of the rigid body and access ports to provide for relative angular movement of at least one of the access ports to provide flexibility for positioning surgical instruments introduced through the access ports. The flexible support can include at least one flexible bellow.

Provided is an endoscopic surgical device and an overtube with which a surgeon can easily obtain a desired image and operability is high. The overtube includes a slider inside the overtube body that guides an endoscope and a treatment tool into a body cavity, the first valve member provided in the endoscope insertion passage, and the second valve member provided in the treatment tool insertion passage. F1>F3 and F2>F3 are satisfied when a fixing force for fixing the slider to the endoscope is defined as F1, a fixing force for fixing the slider to the treatment tool is defined as F2, and a frictional force that receives from the first valve member when the endoscope moves forward and backward is defined as F3.

An endoscopic surgical device and an overtube that allows the state of a distal end of a treatment tool to be easily checked while reducing the diameter of the overtube and can improve surgical efficiency. An endoscope insertion part of an endoscope and a treatment tool insertion part of a treatment tool are insertable through an overtube inserted into a body wall, and a slider is provided for moving the endoscope insertion part and the treatment tool insertion part forward and backward in an interlocking manner. A guide part that guides the endoscope insertion part in a direction away from a distal end of the treatment tool insertion part is provided in the vicinity of an endoscope delivery port in a distal end cap at the distal end of the overtube, and the endoscope insertion part is delivered in an oblique direction from the endoscope delivery port.

An endoscopic surgery device that can easily acquire an image desired by a surgeon, and that has high operability. The endoscopic surgery device includes: an outer tube body; an endoscope insertion path that is provided inside the outer tube body; a treatment tool insertion path that is provided inside the outer tube body; a position sensor that detects a movement amount of the treatment tool insertion part with respect to the outer tube body; and a control unit that has a non-sensitive area where a range of an observation image is not changed if the movement amount of the treatment tool insertion part is within a predetermined range, and a sensitive area where the range of the observation image is varied in accordance with the movement amount of the treatment tool insertion part if the movement amount of the treatment tool insertion part is not within the predetermined range.

Transabdominal Gastric Device and Method

Provided herein are trans-abdominal gastric systems and related methods that are useful in a range of applications for accessing internal regions of a patient. A cannula has internal and external anchors to reliably secure the anchor to an abdominal wall of the patient. An introducer with a capture element facilitates system placement by retrograde introduction. Upon completion, the system is removed and the gastric and abdominal wall incision and defect closed by sutures specially connected to the system that ensures reliable system removal and suture closure in a configuration that is outside the abdominal wall. The systems and methods are particularly suited for use with conventional laparoscopic or endoscopic medical instruments.

Arthroscopic Flexible Portal Cannula Device and Delivery System

A flexible cannula device and delivery system for use in arthroscopic surgery. The delivery system engages the flexible cannula from the inside near the distal tip and pushes it into the surgical portal, essentially pulling the proximal portion of the cannula from the distal tip while being pushed from the proximal end with the specialized driver. The delivery system provides for single point engagement at the distal tip as well as a multiplicity of engagement points along the length of the system.

SEALING MULTIPLE SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS

A cannula cap is disclosed. A cannula cap according to some embodiments of the invention includes an instrument guide attachment; a cannula attachment; and a seal captured between the instrument guide attachment and the cannula attachment. In some embodiments, a cannula cap can include a lid; a locking ring; a base; and a cannula seal captured between the lid and the base.

PNEUMOPERITONEUM DEVICE

A bag with one or more openings is placed within a body cavity. Excised tissue is placed within the opening of a deflated bag. One or more openings of the bag are withdrawn outside the body cavity and the bag is inflated. Instruments including laparoscopic visualization are placed within the inflated bag that remains within the body cavity. The tissue retained within the bag is morcellated/crushed/reduced and removed. The bag is deflated and removed with residual tissue/blood/fluids inside. The tissue to be removed is retained in the bag which prevents potentially harmful material such as cancerous cells from being released in the body cavity.

Assembling surgical access device

An assembling surgical access device includes a flexible tube and a connecting structure. The flexible tube includes a tube body and a positioning portion connected to the tube body. The connecting structure is connected to the flexible tube, and includes a housing and a tube fixing member. The housing includes a side wall, an end wall, a fixing portion and a tube hole. The fixing portion is connected to the positioning portion of the flexible tube, and the tube body is disposed through the tube hole. The tube fixing member is engaged into the side wall so as to position the positioning portion between the end wall and the tube fixing member.
