CANNULA STABILIZER FOR EMBRYO TRANSFER
20210393293 · 2021-12-23 ·

The embryo transfer cannula stabilizer is a device attached to a vaginal speculum, which allows the sliding, placement, and secure fixing of a cannula to perform an embryo transfer. The embryo transfer cannula stabilizer prevents fine movement of the user's hand to reduce tremor at the intracervical level and avoid injury to the cervical canal, rupture of blood vessels, and the production of detritus.

Apparatus for performing a cricothyrotomy/tracheotomy and method therefor
11202876 · 2021-12-21 ·

A device and method for performing a cricothyrotomy and/or a tracheotomy has an outer cannula. An inner cutting cannula is positioned within the outer cannula. An actuator is coupled to a proximate end of the inner cutting cannula. The actuator keeps the inner cutting cannula in a retracted position within the outer cannula when the actuator is not activated and an extended position where a distal end of the inner cutting cannula extends out of the outer cannula with a force for the distal end of the inner cutting cannula to penetrate one of a cricothyroid membrane or tracheal wall when the actuator is activated.

Intraosseous Device Including a Sensing Obturator
20210378707 · 2021-12-09 ·

Disclosed herein are medical device systems, and methods thereof, for automatically detecting access to a medullary cavity. Embodiments include intraosseous access systems with sensing obturators, configured to detect a change in modality, e.g. pressure, oxygen saturation, electrical impedance, etc. at a distal tip thereof. Signals can be transmitted to a control logic that can modify the activation of a driver in response. Signals can be transmitted by way of wired or wireless communication. In an embodiment, signals can be transmitted through conductive polymer material that forms the obturator and allows the obturator to be flexible enough to mitigate accidental needle stick injuries.

CANNULA FOR PERCUTANEOUS MINIMALLY INVASIVE CANNULATION OF THE VENA CAVA

A cannula comprising a plastic tube having three longitudinal chambers, including a main chamber, a first lateral chamber and a second lateral chamber, and at least one reinforced section ensuring constant internal diameter, wherein the cannula is equipped from the distal side with a round end narrowing towards the end, in which there are longitudinal holes of a size enabling free venous blood flow, and a balloon. A fragment of the reinforced tube section located below the balloon is bent under an angle α of approximately 90°. From the proximal side, the tube ends with a flexible cone, sealing the cannula tightly, inside which there is a valve closing the main chamber and a port for inflating the balloon connected to the first lateral chamber.

Steerable Endoluminal Punch with Introducer

An endoluminal punch system including a sheath and dilator. The endoluminal punch may include energy delivery system capable of being transmitted from the proximal end to the distal end of the endoluminal punch to assist with tissue crossing and incisions. The dilator may include selectively deployable cutting mechanism to create incisions in tissue that are larger than their basic external diameter. The system may also be configured to reduce the risk of generating plastic emboli during insertion of the endoluminal punch.

REUSABLE APPLICATORS FOR TRANSCUTANEOUS ANALYTE SENSORS, AND ASSOCIATED METHODS

The present embodiments relate generally to systems and methods for measuring an analyte in a host. More particularly, the present embodiments provide sensor applicators and methods of use to insert the sensor into an individual's skin. Applicators are disclosed for inserting the sensor. Such applicators may be reusable applicators configured to implant multiple different sensors.

Sensor insertion device and biosensor

A sensor insertion device comprises a main body, needle slider, disposal slider, spring, puncture knob, and opening mechanism (window member and handle). The needle slider grips a needle and a sensor on a first end side, and is slidable inside the main body. The disposal slider is slidable inside the main body. The puncture knob has an insertion hole into which the rear end portion of the needle slider can be inserted. The opening mechanism puts the insertion hole into a closed state when the needle slider is being slid in the sensor insertion direction, and, puts the insertion hole in an open state in which the second end side of the needle slider has been inserted into the insertion hole by opening up the contact portion between the puncture knob and the second end side of the needle slider when the puncture operation is complete.

Delivery of therapeutic material via sub-ligamentous space

An approach is provided for delivering therapeutic materials to an intervertebral disc via a sub-ligamentous space. The approach includes positioning a tool at an interface of a longitudinal ligament and an outer surface of the intervertebral disc, in which the interface is the sub-ligamentous space. The tool may include a first needle and a second needle housed within the first needle. An insertion end of the first needle may include a shallow beveled end. The approach includes inserting the insertion end of the first needle into the sub-ligamentous space. The approach includes deploying the second needle from within the first needle into at least one of an annulus and a nucleus of the intervertebral disc. The approach includes delivering the therapeutic materials to the at least one of the annulus and the nucleus.

DYNAMICALLY ADJUSTABLE STIFFENING SLEEVE
20220192706 · 2022-06-23 ·

A surgical tool with a stiffening sleeve that is dynamically retractable during surgery. The tool includes a needle or implement for performing minimally invasive surgery through a pre-placed cannula at a surgical site. A stiffening sleeve of the tool about the implement may provide an added degree of stiffness such as where the implement is particularly thin. However, an end of the sleeve is held in position at the cannula as the implement advances therebeyond for the surgery. Nevertheless, as determined by the surgeon, the implement may be further advanced with a corresponding and deliberate retraction of the sleeve into the tool body as desired.

AUTOCLAVABLE ENDOSCOPE FOR ENDOSCOPIC IMAGING SYSTEMS
20220192473 · 2022-06-23 · ·

An endoscope includes a connection portion for connecting the endoscope to a camera head; a needle assembly; a sleeve that is fixed relative to the needle assembly; a focusing optic assembly housed within the sleeve and comprising at least one optical component, the focusing optic assembly being translatable relative to the sleeve for adjusting a focus of the endoscope; and a user-engageable rotator operably coupled to the needle assembly and the sleeve to rotate the needle assembly and sleeve relative to the connection portion to adjust a view direction of the needle assembly
