A surgical tool and related methods are provided for removal of a bone sliver from a resected joint. The tool can include a housing including an upper end, a lower end, and a channel extending from the upper end to the lower end. A paddle member extends from the lower end of the housing. The paddle member includes a paddle shaft and a paddle head. The surgical tool further includes an insertion member that has a handle end, an extension that extends from the handle end, and a cutting tip. The extension is translatable within the channel such that the handle end and the cutting tip can move relative to the housing between a retracted position and an advanced position.

Suture System and Method
20170311983 · 2017-11-02 ·

A suture system including a suture construct having a first reduction construct configured to be selectively arranged in an expanded state and a reduced state. The first reduction construct includes a first locking limb, a first contractible loop, and a first opposed loop disposed generally opposite to the first contractible loop, wherein reduction of the first opposed loop contracts the first contractible loop from the expanded state into the reduced state and secures the suture construct in the reduced state. The suture construct may also include a second reduction construct. Optionally, the suture system includes a first and a second pusher tube defining a first and a second lumen, respectively, wherein each pusher tubes are advanced over portions of opposed loops, respectively, and wherein distal portions of opposed loops extend beyond the pusher tubes, respectively.

APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR CORRECTING BONE DEFORMITIES

An apparatus for correcting bunion deformity includes an elongated member, a first arm member extending from a first end to a second end, a second arm member, and a rotation guide. The first arm member has an arm axis and is coupled to the first end of the elongated member so that the arm axis extends in an orthogonal direction from the elongated member. The second arm member includes an attachment portion configured to translatably engage the elongated member and an extension extending in the same orthogonal direction as the first arm member. The rotation guide is coupled to the first arm member such that the rotation guide is configured to rotate with respect to the first arm member about a rotation axis, the rotation guide defining a bore having a longitudinal axis.

Method and apparatus for force redistribution in articular joints

Pathologies of joints arising from improper force distributions are addressed by displacement of targeted connective and muscle tissues surrounding the joint in order to realign force vectors and alter moment arms loading the joint.

DEVICE AND METHOD

A device for modulating biological tissue and/or bone conformation, the device including a shape memory material and being capable of modulating biological tissue and/or bone conformation simultaneously in at least two dimensions, a process for producing the device, a process for modulating biological tissue and/or bone using the device, and uses thereof.

Device and method for hallux valgus repair by intermedullary spring clip

A device for repairing Hallux Valgus (HV) is disclosed comprising a first arm adapted to be affixed inside the canal of the first metatarsus (1MT) of a human foot, a second arm adapted to be affixed inside the canal of the second metatarsus (2MT) of a human foot and a spring mechanism connected between the first arm and the second arm, active to push the 1MT closer to the 2MT. The device may comprise fixating means adapted to fixate said first arm inside said MT and said second arm inside said 2MT and the spring mechanism is removable from the first and the second arms.

METATARSAL ALIGNMENT APPARATUS

A metatarsal alignment apparatus and methods are provided for orienting and maintaining a 1st metatarsal bone in a natural anatomical position during surgical procedures for treating a hallux valgus deformity by way of arthrodesis of the 1.sup.st metatarsocuneiform joint. The metatarsal alignment apparatus includes a cuneiform block for pinning a cuneiform bone and a distal metatarsal block for pinning a 1.sup.st metatarsal bone. The cuneiform block is threadably engaged with a shaft for moving the cuneiform block longitudinally with respect to the distal metatarsal block. The distal metatarsal block is adjustable within a distal frame to facilitate moving transversely and rotating the 1.sup.st metatarsal bone with respect to the cuneiform bone. The distal metatarsal block may be fixated by way of a lock screw to fixate the orientation of the 1.sup.st metatarsal bone with respect to the cuneiform bone during preparing the 1.sup.st metatarsocuneiform joint for arthrodesis.

SURGICAL CLAMP FOR LAPIDUS BUNION SURGERY
20220039816 · 2022-02-10 ·

Apparatuses, systems, and methods are disclosed for a surgical clamp for Lapidus bunion surgery. A surgical clamp has handles disposed at opposing branches of a surgical clamp. A hinge is disposed at an intersection of the opposing branches about which the opposing branches pivot. A first gripper is disposed at a distal portion of the first opposing branch and is shaped to hook around and grip a neck of a first metatarsal. A second gripper is disposed at a distal portion of the second opposing branch and is shaped to hook around and grip a neck of a different metatarsal. The grippers extend at a non-zero angle away from the opposing branches. A lock extends between the opposing branches and selectively fixes a relative position of the opposing branches so that the grippers selectively hold a position of the first metatarsal relative to the different metatarsal.
