An adjustable multi-layer bra includes an inner bra layer, an outer bra layer, and a middle layer that are independently adjustable for positioning and compression of the breasts. The bra includes an inelastic frame to minimize unnecessary compression of the wearer's torso or chest, and adjustment components of the independent bra layers are provided on the front of the bra for ease of use by the wearer.

Pullover bras for high support activities are provided. A bra includes a band that wraps around the torso. The band includes first and second cup regions as well as a gore adjoining the cup regions. An underband runs below the gore and the cup regions. Straps adjoin a respective cup region and a respective portion of the band. A neckline runs above the cup regions and between a first portion of each strap. The gore and underarm portions of the band are formed from a first pattern of fabric. The back of the bra, the straps, and the neckline is formed from a second pattern of fabric. The underband is formed from a third pattern of fabric.

An engineered bra having preconfigured lockout and stretch zones with different stretch properties is provided. The different stretch properties may be achieved by adjusting one or more knitting or weaving techniques and/or materials throughout the bra, with at least a first portion of the bra including a common feature between multiple regions. The knit or woven bra may include varying knit or woven structures within the zones, varying the modulus of elasticity of the yarns used to form the zones, and/or varying the modulus of elasticity of the knit or woven material through specific knit stitch orientation or woven technique. In further aspects, different stretch properties correspond to individual yarn placement, integrated knit or woven structures such as channels, pockets, or shaping, and/or additional integrated knit or woven aspects used to create lockout in a first zone and stretch characteristics in an adjacent, second zone.

Aspects herein are directed to a support garment that includes a number of features configured to provide a high level of support to a wearer's breasts while being comfortable to wear. The support garment includes a Y-shaped layer affixed to an inner surface of a front portion of the support garment that helps to limit upward movement of a wearer's breasts. The support garment also includes foam pads having a uniform thickness and a plurality of apertures located at side portions of the support garment and configured to limit lateral movement of the wearer's breasts. The support garment also includes an underband that is zoned to be breathable and permeable at a front center of the underband while still providing support to an under portion of the wearer's breasts.

A clothing article having a cup part includes a main body cloth front part 11, a main body cloth rear part 12, and a main body cloth shoulder strap 14 that are formed only of an elastic material. The main body cloth shoulder strap 14 is continuously formed with the main body cloth front part 11 and the main body cloth rear part 12. The main body cloth shoulder strap 14 is larger in width and less prone to stretch at a main body cloth shoulder strap top portion 14a than at a main body cloth front part joint portion 15 and at a main body cloth rear part joint portion 16. The main body cloth front part 11 is less prone to stretch at its bust part, and the main body cloth rear part 12 is less prone to stretch at its center zone. A nursing and pumping garment includes a unitary exterior layer and a pumping layer seamlessly connected to the unitary exterior layer. The unitary exterior layer includes first and second breast covers, a central portion, and gathers between both the first breast cover and the central portion and the second breast cover and the central portion. The garment may be in one of: (1) a first state in which the unitary exterior layer is completely covering a central pumping edge and the garment is neither in a pumping or a breast feeding position; (2) a second state in which at least one aperture is formed to facilitate breast pumping; and (3) a third state in which the unitary exterior and pumping layers are both disconnected from a first bra strap or a second bra strap to facilitate breast feeding.

Thermoformed molded articles are made containing and from fabrics containing spandex and cellulose ester fibers. In the process for making the molded article, a fabric is layed up in a mold a thermoformed at a temperature not exceeding 195° C., and for a residence time sufficient to obtain a molded article that retains its shape upon release from the mold, said fabric comprising cellulose ester fibers. The three-dimensional molded articles can now be made containing sustainably derived fibers, e.g. cellulose ester fibers, that have good shape retention, comfort, and hand. Examples of such molded articles include support garments, such a brassiers.
