Implantable medical device
A device for occlusion of a body lumen including an implantable occlusion apparatus (3) operably attached to an elongated catheter member (4) configured for transluminal delivery and deployment of the occlusion apparatus in the body lumen. The occlusion apparatus includes a radially expansible element (5) detachably attached to the elongated catheter member, and adjustable between a contracted orientation for transluminal delivery and a deployed orientation configured to occlude the body lumen, an energy delivery element (6, 14, 21) configured to deliver energy to surrounding tissue to heat the tissue, and a sensor (7) configured to detect a parameter of the wall of the body lumen. The energy delivery element (6, 14, 21) and sensor (7) are axially movable independently of the radially expansible element whereby, in use, the energy delivery element and sensor can be transluminally retracted leaving the radially expansible element in-situ occluding the body lumen.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR INTRABODY SURGERY
A device for intrabody surgery comprises a cutting arrangement rotatable by a hollow driveshaft, which is formed by a hollow front cutting region and a rear region. The front region includes multiple longitudinal drilling sections interconnected by transversely oriented cutting blade sections. The drilling sections are positioned at an angle to each other defining in combination with the cutting blades a conically shaped grid formation having a hollow internal cavity. The grid formation defines a plurality of ports between the drilling sections and the blades. A low-pressure zone is formed within the hollow internal cavity, wherein cut occlusion materials are aspired by the low-pressure zone through the plurality of ports into the hollow internal cavity for further evacuation from the cutting arrangement.
Electrode assemblies for neurostimulation treatment
A device includes a handle, an expandable structure including a plurality of splines extending from a proximal hub to a distal hub, a first electrode on a first spline of the plurality of splines, an outer tube extending from the handle to the proximal hub, and a shaft extending through the outer tube from the handle to the distal hub. The expandable structure has a collapsed state and a self-expanded state. The handle is configured to retract the shaft. Retracting the shaft may expand the expandable structure outward of the self-expanded state.
Catheter and Method for Focal Cardiac Ablation by Irreversible Electroporation
A catheter for focal cardiac ablation by irreversible electroporation includes a flexible catheter body, a plurality of tines disposed at a distal end of the catheter body, a flexible shaft, a return electrode, and an electrical conductor. The plurality of tines are formed of an electrically conductive material and configured to deploy from a lumen at the distal end of the catheter body. Each tine of the plurality of tines is configured to self-bias from a linear configuration within the lumen to a curved configuration when deployed from the lumen. The shaft is mechanically and electrically coupled to the plurality of tines. The shaft is configured to deploy the tines from the lumen when the shaft is moved toward the distal end of the catheter body. The return electrode is disposed on an outer surface of the catheter body. The electrical conductor is electrically coupled to the return electrode.
Methods of Ablating Tissue Using Time-Limited Treatment Periods
The present invention is directed toward a device that performs ablation of tissue. The device has a catheter with a shaft through which an ablative agent can travel, a first positioning element attached to the catheter shaft at a first position and a second positioning element attached to the catheter shaft at a second position. The shaft also has ports through which the ablative agent can be released.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR ACCESSING AND RETRACTING A CAPSULE OF A JOINT
Devices and methods are disclosed herein for accessing the hip joint. A first device can be securely attached to the capsule of a joint. The first device can tent the capsule to increase the volume of the peripheral compartment. A second device can be biased against the first device to pierce the tented capsule and create a portal. Devices and methods are also disclosed herein for distending the capsule of a joint. A distention device may access a portal established within the capsule. The distention device can expand the capsule by applying an expansive force within the peripheral compartment. The distention device can maintain distention of the peripheral compartment while other devices access the joint.
CATHETER APPARATUSES FOR MODULATION OF NERVES IN COMMUNICATION WITH PULMONARY SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Devices, systems, and methods for the selective positioning of an intravascular neuromodulation device are disclosed herein. Such systems can include, for example, an elongated shaft and a therapeutic assembly carried by a distal portion of the elongated shaft. The therapeutic assembly is configured for delivery within a blood vessel. The therapeutic assembly can include one or more energy delivery elements configured to deliver therapeutic energy to nerves proximate a vessel wall.
IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL DEVICE
A device for occlusion of a body lumen comprises an implantable occlusion apparatus (3) operably attached to an elongated catheter member (4) configured for transluminal delivery and deployment of the occlusion apparatus in the body lumen. The occlusion apparatus comprises a radially expansible element (5) detachably attached to the elongated catheter member, and adjustable between a contracted orientation suitable for 10 transluminal delivery and a deployed orientation configured to occlude the body lumen, an energy delivery element (6, 14, 21) configured to deliver energy to surrounding tissue to heat the tissue, and a sensor (7) configured to detect a parameter of the wall of the body lumen. The energy delivery element (6, 14, 21) and sensor (7) are axially movable independently of the radially expansible element whereby, in use, the energy delivery 15 element and sensor can be transluminally retracted leaving the radially expansible element in-situ occluding the body lumen.
MEDICAL DEVICES AND METHODS FOR CARRYING OUT A MEDICAL PROCEDURE
A method for carrying out a medical procedure includes advancing a medical device towards a puncture site in a patient's body and positioning a radiofrequency puncture electrode of the medical device adjacent the puncture site; delivering radiofrequency energy from the radiofrequency puncture electrode to create a puncture in the puncture site; advancing the medical device through the puncture to position an auxiliary electrode of the medical device adjacent a target site in the patient's body; and using the auxiliary electrode for diagnosis, mapping, and/or treatment at the target site.
