Cardiac ablation catheters and methods of use thereof
Cardiac ablation catheters and methods of use. Catheters that include an expandable membrane, an imaging member disposed within the expandable membrane, the imaging member having a field of view, a light source disposed within the expandable member adapted to deliver light towards the field of view of the imaging member, and an electrode comprising an outer conductive layer and inner light absorbing layer disposed between the electrode and the expandable membrane, the inner light absorbing layer adapted to absorb light from the light source and thereby reduce reflection of the light from the outer conductive electrode.
LASER TREATMENT SYSTEM AND COOLING DEVICE
A laser treatment apparatus includes a primary handset and an auxiliary handset; the primary handset is connectable to the auxiliary handset; the primary handset has a laser source with a primary heat exchanger, and a main cooling circuit to provide cooling fluid to the primary heat exchanger to cool the laser source; the cooling circuit has a circuit connection for engagement with the auxiliary handset. The circuit connection comprises one or more fluid connectors for connection to an auxiliary cooling circuit within the auxiliary handset and the cooling circuit within the auxiliary handset includes a secondary heat exchanger. An electro-mechanical mechanism within the primary handset switches from a first position so that cooling fluid flows in the main cooling circuit within the primary handset when no auxiliary handset is attached and in a second position diverts flow of the cooling fluid to the heat exchanger in the auxiliary handset when the auxiliary handset is connected to the primary handset.
SKIN TREATMENT USING VARIABLE RF
A skin treatment device used for cellulite treatment, skin tightening or body contouring which combines negative pressure treatment and RF treatment, where the RF treatment uses variable frequencies during a treatment cycle.
LOW-VOLTAGE IMPEDANCE CHECK PULSE GENERATOR
A method of testing a therapeutic pulse generator circuit is disclosed. The method includes charging the pulse generator circuit to a first charge voltage, with the pulse generator circuit, delivering a first voltage pulse to a load through an electrode, and determining an impedance of the load with the first voltage pulse. The method also includes comparing the impedance with an expected impedance, as a result of the comparison, determining to deliver a second voltage pulse to the load based, and delivering the second voltage pulse to the load, where at least one of the first and second voltage pulses is therapeutic to the load.
Diaphragm entry for posterior surgical access
Methods and devices described herein facilitate improved treatment of body organs. More specifically, devices and methods described herein are for minimally invasive surgery permit improved diaphragmatic access to a body cavity to perform a surgical procedure, for example ablation and/or coagulation of cardiac tissue during minimally invasive surgical access to the heart. The diaphragmatic access described provides direct visualization of anatomic structures within the thoracic cavity such as the posterior left atrium, the posterior side of pulmonary veins, or any other such anatomic structure.
Methods and devices for cryogenic carotid body ablation
Methods and cryogenic devices for assessing, and treating patients having sympathetically mediated disease, involving augmented peripheral chemoreflex and heightened sympathetic tone by reducing chemosensor input to the nervous system via carotid body ablation. Some methods include advancing a cryo-ablation catheter into a patient's vasculature and ablating tissue within a carotid septum.
Device including RF source of energy and vacuum system
A method of a soft tissue treatment comprises placing an applicator adjacent to a surface of a body part, the applicator including at least one electrode, providing a fastening mechanism fixing the applicator in contact with the body part, providing a radiofrequency energy by the at least one electrode causing a heating of the soft tissue, providing an electric current to the soft tissue by the at least one electrode causing a muscle contraction, and controlling heating of the soft tissue by the radiofrequency energy and parameters of the electric current provided by the at least one electrode via a control unit, wherein an energy flux density of the radiofrequency energy is in a range of 0.01 mW.Math.mm.sup.−2 to 10 W.Math.mm.sup.−2 and a frequency of the radiofrequency energy is in a range of 0.1 MHz to 25 GHz, and wherein the body part comprises a face or a chin.
DIAPHRAGM ENTRY FOR POSTERIOR SURGICAL ACCESS
Methods and devices described herein facilitate improved treatment of body organs.
STABILIZED ABLATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Surgical systems and methods for administering an ablation treatment and other therapeutic or diagnostic protocols to a patient tissue involve a flexible stabilizer mechanism having an inner recess and an ablation mechanism coupled with the stabilizer mechanism.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR ENDOLUMINAL DELIVERY OF EITHER FLUID OR ENERGY FOR DENERVATION
Described herein are methods and devices for selectively applying either fluids (e.g., anesthetics, nerve-blockers, etc.) or energy, such as radiofrequency or ultrasound energy, to a target tissue from within a blood vessel while minimizing the amount of fluid or energy applied to non-target tissue. The catheters described herein may include an elongate body, a directional injector, and one or more holdfasts for securing the catheter. In addition, catheters can include energy applying features for delivering energy to the target tissue.
