GENERATOR FOR SUPPLYING MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS
20230198389 · 2023-06-22 ·

A push-pull generator provided for supply of a medical instrument includes at least one capacitive branch connected to ground, preferably in a switchable configuration, in parallel to at least one of its two transistors. Such a capacitive switchable branch can consist of a series connection of one capacitor and one switch. Thereby one of the two half waves of the output voltage of generator can be specifically influenced and the other one of the two half waves can be left largely uninfluenced. If switchable branches comprising capacitors are connected in parallel to both transistors, both half waves of the output voltage of the generator can be influenced independently from one another. This arrangement allows the specific influence of half oscillations of a push-pull generator that is apart therefrom symmetric, whereby the application spectrum for supply of medical instruments with treatment current is enlarged.

RADIO FREQUENCY ABLATION SYSTEMS

The present invention relates to systems for use for radio frequency ablation. The systems can include one or more of an ablation tool, power source for use with the ablation tool and a backstop for use in conjunction with the ablation tool during surgical procedures. Preferred ablation tools comprise a series of three or more blade-shaped electrodes disposed in a linear, curved, curvilinear or circular array. The backstops are useful for reducing direct physical and thermal heat transfer injuries to the patient or surgeon during procedures using radiofrequency (RF) ablation devices.

Irreversible Electroporation Return Electrode and System

Methods and systems provide a body surface electrode, such as a patch, and, for example, a backpatch, which automatically detects detachment from the skin and/or proximity thereto, within a predetermined limit, and hence, the electrode coming out of contact with and/or proximity to the skin. Once the detachment is detected, the disclosed system instantaneously terminates pulse delivery to a pulse delivery electrode from an IRE generator, which generates the delivered pulses. By instantaneously terminating pulse delivery, damage to body tissues from overheating caused by pulses is minimized or eliminated.

Electrode catheter with incremental advancement

Apparatus comprises: (a) a longitudinal member (32), having a distal portion (34); (b) a plurality of electrodes (38) disposed on the distal portion of the longitudinal member, such that a first electrode (38a) of the plurality of electrodes is disposed distally along the longitudinal member from a second electrode (38b) of the plurality of electrodes; and (c) a controller (40). The controller comprises an actuator, and circuitry (42) electrically connected to the electrodes via the longitudinal member. The actuator is configured to move the longitudinal member in discrete incremental movements such that for each incremental movement, (i) before the incremental movement the first electrode is disposed in a starting position, (ii) during each incremental movement the actuator moves second electrode toward the starting position, and (iii) at the end of each incremental movement the second electrode is stationary at the starting position.
