20230000553 · 2023-01-05 · ·

A method of treating a patient with a therapeutic laser pulse includes applying a cooling mechanism to a first skin area, cooling a target skin area within the first the skin area from a first surface temperature to a second temperature through application of the cooling mechanism prior to application of the therapeutic laser pulse, initiating application of the therapeutic laser pulse at a first timepoint, while continuing to apply the cooling mechanism, determining a surface temperature of the target skin area a plurality of times during application of the therapeutic laser pulse at a refresh rate of 25 Hz to 400 Hz, and terminating the application of the therapeutic laser pulse at a second timepoint, based on the surface temperature determinations. Each of the plurality of surface temperature determinations occurs during a single therapeutic laser pulse duration from the first time point to the second timepoint.

20230025054 · 2023-01-26 ·

A multi-path perfusion control method and apparatus for injection pump, an injection pump and a storage medium, wherein the method includes: controlling the injection pump to open at least one perfusion channel when an ablation task is triggered, so as to execute a perfusion operation through an opened perfusion channel according to a preset initial flow rate; acquiring temperatures of a plurality of positions of an ablation object in real time by a plurality of temperature acquisition apparatuses; and controlling the injection pump to open or close some or all of the perfusion channels and/or adjust flow rates of some or all of the perfusion channels according to a real-time change in the temperatures of the plurality of positions. Operation delay or operation errors caused by manual determination can be reduced, and the timeliness, accuracy and pertinence of liquid perfusion during executing the ablation task can also be improved.

ELECTROSURGICAL INSTRUMENT

A temperature sensing system for an electrosurgical instrument able to detect temperatures internal and/or external to the electrosurgical instrument. Temperatures detected by a temperature sensor are processed by a monitoring module which prompts action to reduce temperatures where appropriate. The temperature sensing system is particularly useful for electrosurgical instruments which combine rotary shaver arrangements and RF electrode arrangements, where suction is used to remove RF heated saline from the surgical site. Without monitoring the temperature of the electrosurgical instrument and/or the surgical site, there is a risk of burning the patient if the RF heated saline becomes too hot as the electrosurgical instrument may not be adequately insulated.

CATHETER HAVING COMPLIANT BALLOON

A catheter comprises a catheter shaft having a fluid channel, an ultrasound transducer and a compliant balloon mounted on the catheter shaft and having an interior in fluid communication with the fluid channel and containing the ultrasound transducer. The compliant balloon includes a balloon wall having a working section radially surrounding the ultrasound transducer. The working section has a predetermined straightness when the working section has a first diameter and when the working section has a second diameter that is at least 2 mm greater than the first diameter. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

Vapor ablation systems and methods

A vapor delivery system and method is provided that is adapted for treating prostate tissue. The vapor delivery system includes a vapor delivery needle configured to deliver condensable vapor energy to tissue. In one method, the vapor delivery system is advanced transurethrally into the patient to access the prostate tissue. The vapor delivery system includes a generator unit and an inductive heating system to produce a high quality vapor for delivery to tissue. Methods of use are also provided.
