ENHANCED PLANNING AND VISUALIZATION WITH CURVED INSTRUMENT PATHWAY AND ITS CURVED INSTRUMENT
Exemplary methods and systems that provide a curved path trajectory that can be used with a bendable medical device. The curved pathway can comprise straight and curved concatenated arc segments. The methods and systems can provide planning, visualizing and treatment of, for example, temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) using laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) or tumors using ablation therapy. With curved pathway, the physician can create plan for intervention to avoid critical structure and to cover more target volume for treatment/diagnosis than straight pathway
PROVISION OF A THERAPY PLAN
A method for providing a therapy plan includes receiving a dataset. The dataset maps an examination object including a first tissue area at at least one first timepoint. The first tissue area is identified in the dataset as a first state. A second state is specified for the first tissue area. A therapy plan for a therapy apparatus is determined by application of a model to input data. A change in the first tissue area between the at least one first timepoint and at least one second timepoint is createable by the control of the therapy apparatus in accordance with the therapy plan. The model maps the first state to the second state and/or the second state to the first state. The therapy plan is provided as output data of the model.
BONE REPOSITIONING GUIDE SYSTEM AND PROCEDURE
A surgical system and procedure are provided for correcting a deformity between first and second bones using an alignment guide based on a correction factor. The alignment guide is used to insert one or more k-wires into each of the first and second bones in a deformed configuration. A correction guide is passed along the k-wires to rotate and/or translate the first bone relative to the second bone into the corrected configuration. An auxiliary correction guide can be passed along the k-wires to further rotate and/or translate the first bone relative to the second bone from the corrected configuration to an adjusted configuration.
ARCHITECTURE, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR MODELING, VIEWING, AND PERFORMING A MEDICAL PROCEDURE OR ACTIVITY IN A COMPUTER MODEL, LIVE, AND COMBINATIONS THEREOF
Embodiments of architecture, systems, and methods to develop a learning/evolving system to robotically perform and model one or more activities of a medical procedure where the medical procedure may include diagnosing a patient's medical condition(s), treating medical condition(s), and robotically diagnosing a patient's medical condition(s) and performing one or more medical procedure activities based on the diagnosis without User intervention where the activities may be performed in computer-based environment formed by the learning/evolving system, live, or a combination thereof.
DENTAL PROCEDURES
The present teachings relate to a method for processing a digital dental impression comprising: displaying an image of the digital dental impression; wherein the image comprises: a shaded region representative of a part of the oral anatomy which is relevant for a dental procedure, and the shaded region being enclosed within a boundary; and an unshaded region representative of a part of the oral anatomy which is not relevant for a dental procedure, wherein the unshaded region and the shaded region are separated from each another by the boundary, receiving user input for altering the shaded region and/or unshaded region; detecting completion of a stroke generated by the user input; altering, the shaded region and/or the unshaded region, in response to the stroke completion. The present teachings also relate to a method for processing digital three-dimensional shapes, a dental procedure assisting system, uses and computer software products.
Systems for cardiac ablation and associated methods
Devices, systems, and methods for treating cardiac arrhythmia are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, devices, systems, and methods disclosed herein deliver interrogating energy to tissue at a position on a wall of an anatomical structure of a patient. If the devices, systems, and methods disclosed herein detect a change in electrical activity of the anatomical structure in response to the interrogating energy, the devices, systems, and methods disclosed herein can apply irreversible therapy to the tissue. In some embodiments, the change in electrical activity corresponds to slowing or termination of a detected arrhythmia.
System, method, and computer program product for generating pruned tractograms of neural fiber bundles
Disclosed are a system, method, and computer program product for generating pruned tractograms of neural fiber bundles. The method includes receiving scan data produced by diffusion imaging of at least a portion of a brain from a magnetic-resonance imaging (MRI) device. The method also includes generating an initial tractogram by mapping neuronal fiber pathways of a target fiber bundle of the scan data. The method further includes generating a density map using a set of tracts from the initial tractogram, identifying each tract that passes through a segment of the density map more than once, and setting a contribution of said tract to a unique tract count of the segment equal to a threshold pruning value. The method further includes generating a pruned tractogram by identifying a segment having a unique tract count less than or equal to the threshold pruning value and excluding the segment from the pruned tractogram.
Customized patient-specific orthopaedic surgical instruments
An orthopaedic surgical instrument is provided having a first customized patient-specific surgical instrument and a second customized patient-specific surgical instrument configured to be removably coupled to the first customized patient-specific surgical instrument. The second customized patient-specific surgical instrument includes a body positioned in a gap defined between posteriorly-extending arms of the first customized patient-specific surgical instrument.
METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY PLANNING A TRAJECTORY FOR A MEDICAL INTERVENTION
The invention relates to a method for automatically planning a trajectory to be followed during a medical intervention by a medical instrument targeting an anatomy of interest of a patient, said automatic planning method comprising the steps of: acquiring at least one medical image of the anatomy of interest; determining a target point on the previously acquired image; generating a set of trajectory planning parameters from the medical image of the anatomy of interest and the previously determined target point, the set of planning parameters comprising coordinates of an entry point on the medical image. The set of parameters is generated using a machine learning method of neural network type. The invention also relates to a guiding device implementing the set of planning parameters obtained.
METHODS FOR MULTI-MODAL BIOIMAGING DATA INTEGRATION AND VISUALIZATION
A multi-modal visualization system (MMVS) is provided, which may be used to analyze and visualize bioimaging data, objects, and pointers, such as neuroimaging data, surgical tools, and pointing rods. MMVS can integrate multiple bioimaging modalities to visualize a plurality of bioimaging datasets simultaneously, such as anatomical bioimaging data and functional bioimaging data.
