Sharps container

The disclosure relates to a multifunctional sharps container having a first dispensing compartment for storing unused sharps and a second compartment for receiving used sharps. The first and second compartments are separated by a generally liquid impermeable partition fixed to the walls of the container. In addition, the first and second compartments are provided with apertures and structures for conveying the sharps, out of and into the compartments respectively, which are functional in at least two orientations of the container.

The gasket is located between the distal half-section and the proximal half-section of the outer shell housing. The gasket is configured to create a seal between the distal half-section and the proximal half-section and to provide a sterile barrier between the power-pack and an outside environment outside the outer shell housing.

Packaging Systems And Methods For Mounting A Tool On A Surgical Device

A packaging body for use with an elongated tool that includes a distal cutting bur, a first shaft portion proximal to the distal cutting bur, and a second shaft portion extending from the first shaft portion. The packaging body has a distal casing with first and second distal sections. The distal sections each have a distal cavity being shaped to conform to the distal cutting bur and the first shaft portion. The distal sections are configured to couple to one another to collectively encase the distal cutting bur and the first shaft portion within the distal cavities. The packaging body includes a proximal section with a proximal cavity that is elongated and sized to receive the second shaft portion. A packaged tool assembly can include the packaging body that houses the elongated tool or a sealed pouch that includes the packaging body and the elongated tool disposed therein.

The present invention concerns a sterile closed loop device for medical-surgical use intended for the collection, the transportation and the processing of prostheses and/or biological samples and the like, having at least one collection compartment provided with an hermetically closable main opening, for the introduction of said prosthesis and/or biological samples and the like to be analyzed, so as to be contained in it, at least one containment chamber, in which a solution is contained for the chemical detachment of bacteria adhering to animate or inanimate surfaces, such as prostheses and the like, and/or bacterial biofilm, said containment chamber being selectively communicating with said collection compartment, so that said solution can be conveyed from said containment chamber to said collection compartment, for the chemical separation of bacteria to said prosthesis and/or biological samples and the like to be analyzed, that can be inserted in said collection compartment, and extraction means of said solution for the chemical detachment of bacteria from said collection compartment. The present invention also concerns a method for collecting, transporting and processing a prosthesis and/or biological samples and the like to be analyzed.

The second pair of opposing sides are operatively coupled to the first pair of opposing sides such that waste deposited on either the first disposal surface or the second disposal surface causes concurrent counter rotation of both the first pivoting member and the second pivoting member. The first pivoting member includes a pair of opposing projections secured in a stationary position to the first pair of opposing sides and the second pivoting member includes a pair of opposing apertures formed in a stationary position in the second pair of opposing sides. The opposing projections translate within the opposing apertures during the concurrent counter rotation.
