Methods and Devices for Removing a Tissue Specimen from a Patient
20240164762 · 2024-05-23 ·

A method for removing a tissue specimen from a patient includes introducing a bag at least partially into a cavity in the body of the patient, the bag comprising an open end and a port, positioning a tissue specimen to be removed from the patient into an interior of the bag by passing the tissue specimen through the open end of the bag, sealing the open end of the bag, removing gas from the interior of the bag through the port while the tissue specimen is contained in the interior of the bag, and entirely withdrawing the bag containing the tissue specimen from the cavity. The bag may include a closure device configured to hermetically seal the open end of the bag, and the port may include a one-way gas valve configured to prevent or retard gas from entering the interior of the bag through the port.

According to an embodiment, a clip and clamp mechanism is configured to releasably attach a stethoscope cover to a stethoscope and includes a clamp mechanism configured to be press fit to the stethoscope tubing to connect the clamp and clamp mechanism to the stethoscope; and a clip mechanism which is configured to releasably grasp a portion of the stethoscope cover.

STERILIZATION TRAY
20190167824 · 2019-06-06 ·

A sterilization tray is disclosed herein. A medical instrument, such as an endoscope, may be placed into the sterilization tray, and the sterilization tray with the medical instrument disposed therein may be placed into a vacuum chamber of a sterilization system. The sterilization tray may also be used to transport the medical instrument to and from a point of care. Sterilization is performed with the instrument in the base component and the lid component disposed atop the base component. Transportation is performed with the instrument in the lid component and the base component disposed atop the lid component.

Seal for filtered vent in a sterilization container

A container (10) used for sterilizing medical instruments and the like has a sealed filtered vent. A wall or a lid of the container has a vent area formed by a plurality of holes (12) that pass therethrough. The vent area is surrounded by a convex ridge (16) on an outside surface of the container, with a corresponding concave recess (26) on an opposing inside surface. A web of filter material (36) is sized and adapted to cover the vent area and overlie the concave recess. A cover plate (37) is generally planar, with a vent area formed by a plurality of holes (38) that pass through the cover plate. This vent area is surrounded by a convex ridge (43) that is sized and adapted to correspond to the concave recess of the sterilization container. An elastomeric gasket (127) with outwardly-projecting ridges is secured to at least the convex ridge of the cover plate. A means for mounting the cover plate over the vent area of the container secures the filter material between the container vent area and the cover plate.

Container closure

A closing/locking mechanism for a sterile container includes an actuation lever, a tension bow or claw coupled to the actuation lever, and an engagement element forming an undercut and with which the tension bow or claw can be brought into operative engagement to apply a tensile force to the engagement element. The tension bow or claw is mounted for sliding transversely to the tensile force to be applied. A spring is arranged in an operative position relative to the tension bow or claw in such a way that, when a predefined actuation position of the actuation lever and a predefined/predefinable sliding position of the tension bow or claw are reached, in which position the tension bow or claw already reaches behind the engagement element, the spring applies a compressive force to the tension bow or claw in the direction of the tensile force.

STERILIZATION TRAY FASTENER AND RELATED METHODS

Sterilization tray fasteners are disclosed herein. The disclosed sterilization tray fasteners may be formed to join sterilization tray bases stacked directly on top of one another together. In some embodiments, sterilization tray bases may be formed to have slots or apertures to accommodate features of the disclosed fasteners. For example, in some embodiments, the disclosed sterilization tray fasteners include an elongate body and two curved arms that can extend into apertures of the sterilization tray bases. In many embodiments, the disclosed fasteners can be attached to and detached from sterilization tray bases without tools.
