A device for forming a liquid aliquot, the device including: a first layer; an elastic second layer overlapping the first layer; a first passageway to receive and hold a volume of liquid, the first passageway formed from the first and second layers; a first actuator to press on the elastic layer thereby dividing the liquid filled passageway into a series of liquid aliquots; a series of vents associated with the series of aliquots; a second actuator to control flow of liquid aliquots through the associated vents; and an attachment structure for attachment of aliquot receptacles to receive liquid aliquots that flow through the vents.

ATTACHMENTS FOR USE WITH A SURGICAL ACCESS DEVICE

A surgical access attachment for use with a surgical access device is disclosed. The surgical access attachment includes a ring and an access portion assembly. The ring is configured to engage a proximal portion of a surgical access device. The access portion assembly includes at least one flexible tab having an engagement structure. The engagement structure is configured to selectively engage the ring. The access portion assembly is configured to retain a seal. The access portion assembly is configured to disengage from the ring in response to a predetermined amount of force exerted on one flexible tab of the at least one flexible tab.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PACKAGING AND PREPARING A PROSTHETIC HEART VALVE AND ASSOCIATED DELIVERY SYSTEM

A method for preparing a prosthetic valve and a delivery system for an implantation procedure. The method comprises (a) obtaining a tray, the tray containing the delivery system, the prosthetic valve coupled to the delivery system, and a valve cover in which the prosthetic valve is disposed. The tray comprises a storage cavity comprising an open end, a floor, and a peripheral side wall defining the depth of the cavity, wherein the prosthetic valve and the valve cover are disposed in the storage cavity; and a mounting surface that substantially immobilizes and maintains the valve cover and prosthetic valve within the storage cavity. The method further comprises (b) at least partially filing the storage cavity with a first hydrating fluid to completely immerse the prosthetic valve; and (c) removing the delivery device with the prosthetic valve from the tray, including disengaging the prosthetic valve from the mounting surface.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR STORAGE OF STERILE DEVICES

In one example, a sterile container may include a tray having a plurality of walls at least partially defining a cavity. At least one of the plurality of walls may include an opening extending therethrough. The sterile container may further include a seal structure coupled to the tray. At least a portion of the seal structure may be received within the opening of the at least one of the plurality of walls. Additionally, the sterile container may include an extension structure coupled to the seal structure.

Transportation container for ultrasound transducer

Devices and methods for protecting and transporting medical probes including, but not limited to, ultrasound transducers and more specifically ultrasound transducers designed for transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). A transport apparatus may include a housing for protecting a control housing of a medical probe and an elongate member extending from the housing. The elongate member may be configured to engage the insertion tube of the probe and maintain an arch shape of the insertion tube during transport to prevent damage from over-flexing of the insertion tube.

Disposable Stethoscope Cover

The device of the present invention is a disposable stethoscope cover for an acoustic stethoscope having a single-sided or dual-sided chest piece with two diaphragm ends or a diaphragm end and a bell end. The device has a semi-rigid single piece or multiple piece cover having semi-rigid snap-fit or pressure fit cover elements that fit over the diaphragm and/or bell ends of the stethoscope. In a two sided configuration of the device it has a first and second ends connected by a tether flap. The diaphragm cover elements have an ascending skirt about a majority of said perimeter edge for receiving and securing the semi-rigid flat surface cover element parallel to the diaphragm of the stethoscope and a U-shaped circular ring end to be received and secured to the bell end of the stethoscope.

Inductively-powered surgical instrument system and method

A surgical instrument system and method are disclosed. The surgical instrument system includes an instrument case and a charging plate that may be placed in a sterile surgical field. The charging plate is configured to receive electrical power from outside the sterile surgical field and transmit that electrical power to other devices within the sterile field.
