SYSTEMS, APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR AUTOMATICALLY COUNTING MEDICAL OBJECTS, ESTIMATING BLOOD LOSS AND/OR COMMUNICATING BETWEEN MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
Many variations of systems, methods and apparatus for counting medical procedure objects, reconciling same, estimating patient blood loss during and/or after a procedure, and/or communicating between medical equipment used in a medical procedure setting are disclosed and/or illustrated herein. More particularly, many systems, methods and apparatus for counting and/or reconciling medical sponges with passive or active tracking devices, properly detecting/estimating blood loss during and/or after a medical procedure to assist with transfusion decision-making and identifying or at least alerting as to post-procedure patient risks, and/or for communicating between devices used during procedures to provide a smart/connected medical procedure environment are disclosed and/or illustrated herein.
Medical Kit and Associated Systems and Methods for Preventing Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infection
A medical kit 100 includes a drape 1323. A plurality of pockets (1302,1303,1304,1305, 1306,1307) are disposed along a bottom edge of the drape 1323 in a linear, side-by-side arrangement. A plurality of medical implements (1310,1311,1312,1313,1314,1315) are stowed in the plurality of pockets on a one-to-one basis. Medical indicia (1316,1317,1318,1319,1320,1321) is disposed along each pocket. The medical indicia can include one or more educational prompts that instruct medical personnel how to use a particular medical implement disposed in a pocket to complete a central catheter dressing change.
Wrap Systems for Medical Device Kits
Medical device kits for use in placing, maintaining, altering, and/or removing medical devices in, on, and/or from the body of a patient are disclosed. Such medical device kits can include one or more wrap assemblies for use in the placement/maintenance procedure. In accordance with present embodiments, the one or more wrap assemblies of the medical device kit can include various features to assist the clinician performing the particular procedure. In one embodiment, a medical wrap assembly is disclosed, comprising a foldable wrap body that includes a front surface, wherein the front surface is configured to define a sterile field. A plurality of pockets is included on the front surface of the wrap body. The pockets are configured to contain therein a plurality of medical components. The medical components are arranged in the pockets in a predetermined order of use for the medical procedure.
Pocket and Drape System for Providing Sterile Fields
A pocket and drape system which provides one or more sterile fields, as well as the methodology for employing said pocket and drape system is provided. The pocket and drape system includes a base drape material having an upper edge, a lower edge, a first side edge, and a second side edge to define a perimeter. The base drape material further includes a first longitudinal fold line, a second longitudinal fold line, a first transverse fold line and a second transverse fold line, wherein the first and second transverse fold lines are generally perpendicular to the first and second longitudinal fold lines. The base drape material has a first surface and an opposing second surface. In addition, the system includes a flap covering a portion of the first surface of the base drape material, wherein the flap has a first surface and an opposing second surface, wherein the flap maintains at least one sterile field. The system further includes a first row of pockets configured on the first surface of the flap, and a second row of pockets configured on the first surface of the base drape material.
Pocket and Drape System for Providing Sterile Fields
A pocket and drape system which provides multiple (e.g., at least two) sterile fields and the methodology for employing said pocket and drape system is provided. The system includes a base drape material having an upper edge, lower edge, first side edge, and second side edge to define a perimeter, where the base drape material also includes a first (outer) surface and a second (inner) surface. A first zone of pockets is present on a portion of the first surface and a second zone of pockets present on a portion of the second surface. The manner in which the base drape material is folded at first and second longitudinal fold lines and first and second transverse fold lines during assembly (e.g., prior to sterilization) maintains the sterility of the first zone of pockets and the second zone of pockets until each zone is ready for use during a medical procedure.
Pocket and Drape System for Providing Sterile Fields
A pocket and drape system which provides multiple (e.g., at least two) sterile fields and the methodology for employing said system is provided. The system includes first and second base drape materials each having upper and lower edges edge both extending in a longitudinal direction and first and second side edges both extending in a transverse direction. The first base drape material and the second base drape material also each include a longitudinal fold line. A first zone of pockets is present on a surface of the first base drape material and a second zone of pockets is present on a surface of the second base drape material. The manner in which the base drape materials are folded and joined to each other during assembly (e.g., before sterilization) maintains the sterility of the first and second zone of pockets until each zone is ready for use during a medical procedure.
The system further includes a first row of pockets configured on the first surface of the flap, and a second row of pockets configured on the first surface of the base drape material. In addition, the system includes a flap configured to maintain at least one sterile field.
