Securable procedure kit
A procedure kit that removably retains components to be used during a medical procedure, such as the insertion of a catheter into a patient, is disclosed. The procedure kit is securable to a surface or structure such that the kit is positioned as desired by the clinician, thus minimizing chances that the kit will fall to the ground or undesirably move. In one embodiment, the procedure kit comprises a body defining a plurality of pockets that are sized to removably receive therein components for use in the medical procedure, an openable flap that covers at least a portion of the pockets; and an adhesive portion included on a portion of the body to enable the procedure kit to be secured to a structure or surface proximate to the patient, such as the sterile drape covering the patient.
Packaging Method To Enable Re-Sterilization Of Medical Device
A method of packaging pre-filled medical devices is disclosed. The method comprises producing a packaging having a front panel and a back panel defining a compartment capable of holding one or more medical devices wherein at least one of the front panel or top panel has a portion containing a gas permeable material while the remaining portion of the pouch is gas impermeable. This gas permeable material allows gas to pass through the material and contact the one or more articles contained within the compartment or allows gas to pass through the gas permeable material from the inside of the compartment to the outside of the container. Upon completion of sterilization, the pouch is sealed and the gas permeable portion is cut away leaving the sterilized medical device enclosed in a completely gas impermeable pouch.
Surgical item counting station and method of use
A surgical item counting station for providing organization and efficiency in counting items and communicating information. The surgical item counting station comprises a top plate having a diameter forming a table top surface and being adjacent and perpendicular to a display screen mounted on an adjustable column mounted on a base terminating at feet. The display screen is adapted to receive and display information about at least one item and general communications. A shelf having a substantially equal diameter to the top plate and being located below and in parallel to the top plate is provided. The shelf includes shelf side walls with a mounting means adapted for mounting at least one container device below the top plate. Preferably the container device is a sponge count bag. Preferably the shelf is a rotational shelf while the top plate or table top is non-rotational.
STERILIZATION PACKAGE
A sterilization package for an endoscope that is described herein. The sterilization package may be used for endoscopes over six feet long. The sterilization package may include a first leg, a second leg connected to the first leg, an opening, and a flap disposed proximate the opening and configured to cover the opening. The package may be 95% by weight of a vapor permeable material. The package, with the endoscope disposed therein, may be coiled and placed into a vacuum chamber of a sterilization system.
