METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MEASURING PERSPIRATION
A perspiration sensing system includes a sensor patch and a smart device. The sensor patch includes one or more perspiration sensing portions. The one or more perspiration sensing portions include an inlet having a predefined size to receive perspiration from a predefined number of sweat glands and an outlet for reducing back pressure. At least one perspiration sensing portion includes a channel having a colorimetric sensing material that changes color when exposed to perspiration. At least one perspiration sensing portion includes a colorimetric assay in a substrate that changes color when exposed to biochemical components of perspiration. The system further includes a smart device having a camera that can take a picture of the sensor patch and determine the volume, rate of perspiration, and/or biochemical components of the perspiration from the one or more perspiration sensing portions.
Method and apparatus to detect transponder tagged objects and to communicate with medical telemetry devices, for example during medical procedures
The presence or absence of objects tagged with transponders may be determined in an environment in which medical procedures are performed via an interrogation and detection system which includes a controller and a plurality of antennas positioned along a patient support structure. The antennas may be positioned along an operating table, bed, mattress or pad, sheet, or may be positioned on a drape, or shade. Respective antennas may successively be activated to transmit interrogation signals. Multiple antennas may be monitored for responses from transponders to the interrogation signals. For example, all antennas other than the antenna that transmitted the most recent interrogation signal may be monitored. Antennas may be responsive to force, a signal indicative of such force being produced. A wireless physiological condition monitor may detect patient physiological conditions and wirelessly transmit signals indicative of such.
Vision protection method and systems thereof
A vision protection method is provided to ensure a viewer to rest his/her eyes after viewing on an electronic device for a certain period, wherein the eyesight protection method includes the steps of detecting at least one of eye activities of the viewer and working parameter of the electronic device in a working mode of the electronic device during the viewer is working on a current work displaying by the electronic device; switching the working mode of the electronic device to a resting mode when an abnormal eye activity of the viewer is detected; and switching the electronic device from the resting mode back to the working mode to resume the display of the current work of the electronic device. Therefore, the viewer is enforced to rest his/her eyes after every certain period.
REMOTE CONTROLLED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE DEVICE
A system for treating a patient, including a computerized device with a display and a communication interface for communicating with remote mobile devices, one or more sensors for measuring medical parameters of a user, wherein the sensors are controlled by the computerized device and transfer recorded measurements to the computerized device, an application executed on the computerized device; wherein the application allows, a remote practitioner with a remote mobile device to communicate with the computerized device to control the sensors.
Remote control of implantable device through medical implant communication service band
A system and method for communicating data and signals through the Medical Implant Communication Service Band using a repeater or base station in the proximity to an implantable device within a patient is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, the device is capable for early detection and monitoring of congestive heart failure in a patient. Impedance measurements, or other health parameters depending on the type of implantable device or sensor used, are sent using a bi-directional low-power radio operating in the MICS band to a nearby base station which may provide signal processing and analysis. The base station may have an interface to one or more communications networks to connect to a remote location. The system and method of the present invention permits a healthcare professional to monitor an ambulatory patient's condition at a remote location and to program the implanted device.
Mitigating single point failure of devices in an analyte monitoring system and methods thereof
Methods, devices, and kits are provided for mitigating single point failure of at least one device in an analyte monitoring system.
Electrocardiography And Syncope Monitor Recorder
Physiological monitoring can be provided through a syncope sensor imbedded into an electrocardiography monitor, which correlates syncope events and electrocardiographic data. Physiological monitoring can be provided through a lightweight wearable monitor that includes two components, a flexible extended-wear electrode patch and a reusable monitor recorder that removably snaps into a receptacle on the electrode patch. The wearable monitor sits centrally on the patient's chest at the sternal midline and includes a unique narrow “hourglass”-like shape, significantly improving the ability of the monitor to cutaneously sense cardiac electrical potential signals, particularly the P-wave and QRS interval signals, which indicate ventricular activity in electrocardiographic waveforms. The electrocardiographic electrodes on the electrode patch are tailored for axial positioning along the midline of the sternum to capture action potential propagation in an orientation that corresponds to the aVF lead in a conventional 12-lead electrocardiogram, which senses positive P-waves.
Low latency signaling over digital network
A diagnostic imaging system includes a first controller that detects any unsafe or dangerous conditions in a diagnostic scanner and generates safety/emergency data indicative of the unsafe or dangerous conditions. A communication unit generates a safety/emergency signal from the safety/emergency data using a digital protocol and communicates the safety/emergency over a local digital network.
Methods, systems and devices for linking user devices to activity tracking devices
Methods, systems and devices for linking devices to tracking devices are provided. One method includes scanning, by an activity tracking device, for a semi-unique identifier broadcasted by a device. The method connects the device with the activity tracking device after the semi-unique identifier is found to be of the device by the activity tracking device. The activity tracking device is configured to communicate with the device to obtain device identification (ID) of the device. The method then automatically links the device to the activity tracking device when the device ID of the device matches a copy of the device ID stored in the activity tracking device. In one example, the tracking devices operate as a master and the devices operate as a slave.
Remote calibration of an implantable patient sensor
Techniques for remotely calibrating an implanted patient sensor with a remote networking device are described. In some embodiments, the sensor is a component of an implantable medical device (IMD). The remote networking device communicates with the IMD via a network to which the IMD and/or external programmer is connected. The IMD may transmit sensor information to the remote networking device when the IMD detects a problem with the sensor or when the patient indicates that therapy is not correctly selected for different activities. New calibration settings may be remotely generated by directly interrogating the sensor and/or communicating with the patient in order to associate sensor output with patient activities, motions, or postures.
