There is provided a method of forming a thin film-based microfluidic electronic device. The method includes: providing a first elastomeric thin film layer on a substrate; depositing a first elastomer on the first elastomeric thin film by direct ink writing to form an elastomeric structure configured to define a microfluidic channel on the first elastomeric thin film layer; providing a second elastomeric thin film layer over the elastomeric structure to cover the microfluidic channel; providing a sacrificial layer on the second elastomeric thin film; depositing liquid metal into the microfluidic channel to form a conductor in the microfluidic channel; and electrically connecting the conductor to an electronic component. The thin film-based microfluidic electronic device is a tissue or skin adhesive sensor including a skin adhesive acoustic device.
Wearable patch, and sheet-type cell
Provided is a wearable patch that can reliably interrupt the power supply from the cell after use and can be disposed of as it is. Moreover, provided is a sheet-type cell that can reliably interrupt the power supply after use and can be disposed of safely. The wearable patch is worn on the body and includes a functional element, a drive circuit unit that operates the functional element, and a cell as a power source. A cutting facilitating member is formed to allow a predetermined portion of the wearable patch to be cut with a force of 200 N or less so that the power supply from the cell to the drive circuit unit is interrupted.
MULTI-MODAL SLEEP SYSTEM
Systems and methods are provided for a multi-modal sleep system comprising a data processor for operating in a plurality of operating modes. The data processor may detect at least one sensor providing data to the data processor and determine a sensor type associated with each of the at least one sensor. The data processor may select a mode of operation based on the determined sensor type of the detected at least one sensor and of each of the at least one sensor. A first of the plurality of operating modes may be selected in response to determining that the at least one detected sensor includes a first sensor type or combination of sensor types. The data processor may be configured to receive data from the at least one detected sensor and process the received data according to the selected mode of operation to output a characterization of a user's sleep.
Communication devices, methods, and systems
Numerous aspects of communication devices, methods, and systems are described in this application. One aspect is an apparatus comprising an energy generator comprising a plurality of generator elements operable to output a plurality of different energy types in a signal direction toward the skin. Each generator element of the plurality of generator elements may be independently operable, when the energy generator is positioned relative to skin, to communicate with different nerves associated with the skin by outputting a different portion of an energy signal in the signal direction toward the skin with one energy type of the plurality of different energy types.
SINGLE RADIO-TRANSPARENT CONNECTOR FOR MULTI-FUNCTIONAL REFERENCE PATCH
A patch and sensor assembly has a biosensor housed in a reusable portion that connects to a mapping and localization system (MLS) via biosensor wires.
