09675240 · 2017-06-13 ·

A mouth mirror apparatus is adapted to be connected to a suction device and includes a mounting frame, an elongated handle, and a mirror member. The mirror member is rotatably mounted on a major wall of the mounting frame and can be driven to rotate when the suction device is actuated. When the mirror member rotates, a centrifugal force is generated to fling off water drops and/or debris on a reflecting surface of the mirror member.

DISPENSER AND METHOD FOR APPLYING A TOOTH WHITENING COMPOSITION

A method for applying a composition to teeth and a dispenser for dispensing a composition. The method of the present invention is directed to the storage and dispensing of a composition. During storage and subsequent use the composition in the storage chamber must be maintained segregated from the applicator surface. This is accomplished by delivering the composition from the storage chamber through a delivery channel having a length and a cross-sectional diameter sufficient to preclude the migration of moisture and the enzyme catalase from the application surface to the storage chamber. The composition is applied to teeth by means of bristles, a sponge surface or fibrillated surface. This applicator can be used with both aqueous and non-aqueous compositions.

Non-pressurized system for creating liquid droplets in a dental cleaning appliance

The appliance (10, FIG. 1) includes a body portion (27) and a nozzle portion (30) through which a spray of liquid droplets exits from a distal end thereof for cleaning of dental regions. The nozzle includes an orifice (36) at a proximal end thereof adjacent the body portion, as well as a pump (38) for moving liquid into an area of the nozzle just forward of the orifice. A mechanical system (12, 13, 14) is provided for moving a plunger or piston element (16) first away from the orifice under tension, such as a compression spring (24), and then controllably releasing the plunger or piston toward the orifice, the plunger/piston moving with sufficient force that atmospheric air which has been drawn into the appliance between the plunger or piston is forced through the orifice at a sufficiently high rate of speed to produce a spray of fluid droplets for dental cleaning when the moving air comes into contact with the liquid in the nozzle.

Oral irrigator with massage mode

The invention relates to a surgical bone-drilling device (1) comprising a drill (3) connected to a drive (2), a container (4) for a coolant (5), at least one pump (6) for delivering the coolant (5), a first conduit (7) for delivering the coolant (5) from the container (4) into the interior of the drill (3), and a second conduit (8) for delivering the coolant (5) from the container (4) to the outside of the drill (3), and also a handpiece (19), a drill guide (20), and a cooling method for such a bone-drilling device (1). To improve the cooling action, a measuring device (9) is provided for detecting the drilling depth (d) of the drill (3), which measuring device (9) is connected to a control device (10) for controlling transport of the coolant (5), such that the quality of the coolant (5) in the first conduit (7) and in the second conduit (8) can be controlled as a function of the drilling depth (d) of the drill (3).

Applicator and method for applying a tooth whitening composition

The method of the present invention is directed to the storage and dispensing of a peroxide containing tooth whitening composition. During storage and subsequent use the composition in the storage chamber must be maintained segregated from the applicator surface. This is accomplished by delivering the peroxide containing tooth whitening composition from the storage chamber through a delivery channel having a length and a cross-sectional diameter sufficient to preclude the migration of moisture and the enzyme catalase from the application surface to the storage chamber. The composition is applied to teeth by means of bristles, a sponge surface or fibrillated surface. This applicator can be used with both aqueous and non-aqueous peroxide containing tooth whitening compositions.
