Sensors may be integrated in these devices including but not limited to IMUs, thermocouples or oral cleaning devices, IMUs in clothing like shoes or wrist bands, or timers or charging sensors in magnetic surfaces which may cause one or more objects and/or other magnetic surfaces to float when a desired function is achieved.
Systems, devices, and methods for customized dental care
The various embodiments described herein include methods, devices, and systems for customizing dental care. In one aspect, a dental care device is customized for a particular user, including: (1) a support plate having: (a) a first portion configured to be inserted into a mouth; and (b) an attachment mechanism configured to attach the dental care device to a drive assembly; and (2) an elastomer (elastic polymer) portion enclosing the first portion of the plate, the elastomer portion including a plurality of cleaning tips and shaped in accordance with dental details of the particular user.
Hand-Held Device for Fluorescence Excitation and for Irradiating Microorganisms in the Mouth and Throat
The invention relates to a hand-held device for excitation and irradiation of pathogenic microorganisms in the mouth and throat, e.g. a toothbrush comprising at least one excitation light source in the short-wave visible spectral range for auto-fluorescence excitation of the pathogenic microorganisms, at least one primary irradiation light source in the red spectral range for primary irradiation of the pathogenic microorganisms and for transillumination, and optionally at least one secondary irradiation light source in the visible spectral range for secondary irradiation of the pathogenic microorganisms, wherein the irradiation light sources have spectral components that can be absorbed by endogenous porphyrins, which are produced by the pathogenic microorganisms, whereby a fluorescence excitation and an inactivation of the pathogenic microorganisms occurs on the basis of subsequent processes. In order to prevent the unintentional irradiation of the eyes, a pressure sensor is designed to release higher light intensities only once a contact pressure has been measured. In addition, the radiation must leave the hand-held device in a divergent manner. The spatially resolved detection of the fluorescence of the pathogenic microorganisms can optionally be used to induce the inactivation of the bacteria by targeted irradiation in the fluorescent range.
ORAL IRRIGATOR
In one embodiment, an oral irrigator including a reservoir, a tip fluidly connected to the reservoir, a motor having a drive shaft, and a pump. The pump includes a pump body including a pump inlet fluidly connected to the reservoir and a pump outlet fluidly connected to the tip, a spiral pinion gear including a plurality of pinion gear teeth that curve along their length, and a spiral driven gear including a plurality of driven gear teeth that mesh with the pinion gear teeth. The pump also may include a connecting rod eccentrically connected to the driven gear and a piston and received within the pump body. Movement of the drive shaft causes the pinion gear to rotate, causing the driven gear to rotate, translating the connecting rod and moving the piston laterally within the pump body to pull fluid from the reservoir and push the fluid to the tip.
Voice Assistant in an Electric Toothbrush
A voice-activated electric toothbrush system including an electric toothbrush, a charging station such as an inductive charging station that provides power to the electric toothbrush, and a voice-assistant application that may be included in the electric toothbrush or the charging station. The device that includes the voice-assistant application may also include one or more microphones for receiving voice input, such as a microphone array, and one or more speakers for providing voice output, such as a speaker array. The toothbrush and the charging station may communicate with each other via a short-range communication linkand may also communicate with a client computing device of the user via short-range communication. The electric toothbrush may include one or more sensors for detecting sensor data during a brushing session which may be used when generating the voice output.
UNITARY CORDLESS DENTAL DRIVE APPARATUS
The invention provides a unitary cordless dental drive apparatus in a first embodiment having a handpiece with a cantilever arm 18 extending outward and positioned to allow a dental nose cone 26 to be connected. An activating switch 20 is located at the free end of the cantilever arm 18 in a position that is convenient for manipulation by a user. In a second embodiment, a contactor 22 is mounted below the cantilever arm 18 to contact the nose cone 26 when pressed. In a third embodiment, a standard dental office foot pedal 90 is connected to a wireless transmitter 80 for sending a signal to a receiver 92 located within the handpiece 70 for activating the handpiece 70.
CHARGING STAND FOR CARE APPARATUS
