An oral care system that includes an oral care implement and a dispenser, an oral care method, and a method of applying an oral care agent to an oral surface. In one embodiment, the invention may be a method of applying an oral care agent to an oral surface that includes: providing a kit comprising a toothbrush and a dispenser containing an oral care agent; removing the dispenser from kit; and applying the oral care agent to an oral surface using the dispenser.

There is disclosed a mouthpiece component for use in an intra oral illumination system, the mouthpiece component comprising a core structure which defines at least one waveguide for receiving light which is directable at least partly by the waveguide along at least one light path of the core structure, wherein each at least one light path defines a propagation direction for light in a propagation plane; at least one optical discontinuity which is configured to cause at least a portion of light propagating along the light path in the at least one waveguide to be transmitted out of the at least one core structure and continue to propagate substantially parallel to the propagation plane; and at least one light redirection portion which is configured to redirect at least a portion of light which has been transmitted out of the core structure out of the propagation plane. A method of manufacture thereof is also disclosed.
TOOTH WHITENING FILM, PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF AND A METHOD OF USING SUCH A FILM
The present invention provides a tooth whitening film. The tooth whitening film comprises a dental bleaching agent comprising one or both of a non-hydrogen peroxide bleaching agent and hydrogen peroxide in a hydrogen peroxide-polymer complex, one or more polyphosphates, said one or more polyphosphates comprising one or more cyclic polyphosphates, one or more water soluble film-forming polymers, one or more plasticizers and one or more emulsifiers, wherein the film has a thickness from about 50 μm to about 500 μm. A kit comprising one or more such films having a thickness from about 50 μm to about 150 μm and a dental aligner is also provided. A process for the manufacture of the film is also provided, together with a method of using such a film to bleach teeth.
Oral Care Agent Dispensing System
An oral care implement for dispensing an oral care agent includes a housing, reservoir therein containing an oral care fluid, and an electrical circuit comprising first and second electrodes connected to an onboard power source. Each electrode is in contact with the oral care fluid in the housing. An actuator, operably coupled to the power source, is configured to both selectively energize the circuit and activate dispensing of the oral care fluid. An electrical charge is applied to the oral care fluid by activating the actuator when dispensing the oral care fluid. When the fluid comprises a peroxide based tooth whitening agent, the dispensed fluid pH is increased by the electrical charge which improves the efficacy of the whitener. In one embodiment, the implement is a modular system including a powered base unit and one or more interchangeable cartridges each having a reservoir containing an oral care fluid.
Methods for Direct Fabrication of Appliances for Palate Expansion
Systems, methods, and devices for producing appliances for expansion of the palate of a patient are provided. A palate expanding orthodontic appliance comprises a teeth engagement portion comprising a plurality of teeth engagement structures and a force generating portion coupled to the teeth engagement portion and configured to apply force to cause the patient's palate to expand. The orthodontic appliances can be designed according to the specifications provided herein and manufactured using direct fabrication methods.
