A fluidic device for supplying working fluid includes: a fluid line for the flow of the working fluid; a pressure regulator adapted to reduce the pressure of the working fluid from the upstream pressure to a downstream pressure; a valve adapted to be pressure-controlled for opening or closing, depending on whether a pressure exerted on its valve head is substantially equal to the upstream pressure or to the downstream pressure; a distributor including a first opening connected to an upstream side of the pressure regulator, a second opening downstream of the pressure regulator, and a control opening connected to the valve head. The distributor is adapted to cause the opening or closing of the valve, depending on whether the control opening is connected to the first opening or to the second opening.

A pressure regulator has a pressure chamber connected to an inlet flow area which receives liquid flow. As liquid flows into a forward chamber of the pressure chamber, pressure is exerted on the forward face of the piston, which in turn causes the piston to slide longitudinally through the pressure chamber. A bypass fluidically connects the forward pressure chamber and rear pressure chamber such that as the piston slides into the rear pressure chamber pressure increases at the rear pressure chamber, which in turn forces the piston to move forwardly, thus regulating flow out of the pressure chamber. A hand wheel is configured to turn a movable plate located inside the pressure chamber, with the movable plate configured to impede the piston from moving rearwardly. Pressure sensors and vents with a pressurized air source may be used to keep the pressure within a desired range.

A valve subassembly includes a main spool having a continuously adjustable main orifice and a control spool having adjustable first and second orifices. The control spool has first and second end positions and is acted upon by a first spring toward the first end position. A fluid flow path starts from a pump and runs to an actuator via the first orifice, first control point, second orifice, second control point, main orifice, and third control point. Pressure at the first control point acts on the control spool toward the second end position and pressure at the third control point acts toward the first end position. The second orifice is closed between the first end position and an intermediate position, and opens from the intermediate position to the second end position. The second orifice opening decreases from the intermediate position to the second end position from a nonzero value to zero.
