SET DIAGNOSTIC PARAMETERS COMMAND
20210263824 · 2021-08-26 ·

A set command is issued to transfer a diagnostic parameter record to a communication component of the computing environment. The diagnostic parameter record specifies a diagnostic action to be taken by the communication component to obtain diagnostic information and specifies a version of the diagnostic information to be obtained. Based, in part, on issuing the set command, the diagnostic information is obtained. The version of the diagnostic information obtained is the version specified, based on the version specified being supported by the communication component.

READ DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION COMMAND

A read command is issued to initiate a transfer of diagnostic information from a communication component of the computing environment. Based on issuing the read command, the diagnostic information is obtained from the communication component. The diagnostic information is configured based on a version of diagnostic information requested. The version is one version of a plurality of versions to be supported by the communication component. The diagnostic information includes diagnostic information relating to one or more communication components of the computing environment and to be used to facilitate communication within the computing environment.

SCALABLE VISUALIZATION OF HEALTH DATA FOR NETWORK DEVICES

This disclosure describes techniques that include presenting a visual information that conveys information about health data associated with a large number of network devices or a large number of attributes of one or more network devices. In one example, this disclosure describes a method that includes collecting performance indicator data and determining a plurality of health status values based on a health status rule; grouping the health status values, based on how many health status values are in the plurality of health status values, into a plurality of health status groups, wherein each of the health status groups includes a subset of the health status values, and wherein each of the health status values within each subset are related to each of the other health status values in the subset; and determining, for each of the health status groups, a group health status value.

Hierarchical event tree

A managing unit included in a distributed storage network (DSN) receives an event representation request, and identifies event record entries based on that request. The event record entries include information associating reporting entities with the event record entries. The management unit obtains the event record entries from the reporting entities; at least one event record entry is obtained from a first reporting entity, and at least another event record entry is obtained from a second reporting entity. In response to receiving the event representation request, the management unit generates a representation of the event record entries, and outputs the representation to a requesting entity.

Continuous software deployment

Methods and systems may be used to deploy software more quickly from development to a production environment. The methods and systems may speed up the process of developing and deploying new code. Integrations may be provided to monitor aspects of the system to provide statistics and metrics for better understanding and to automatically optimize certain aspects of the software development cycle.

COMPUTER NETWORK WITH TIME SERIES SEASONALITY-BASED PERFORMANCE ALERTS
20210157702 · 2021-05-27 ·

A computer platform for hosting applications utilizes a computing device to manage seasonal performance metric alerts. The computer device may include a memory and at least one processor coupled to the memory. The computer device may collect a time series of an application performance metric for a period of less than two weeks. The computer device may determine a daily distributions each day within the period. The computer device may apply a radial basis function (RBF) kernel-based change point detection to the time series to determine that the daily distributions include a weekend time period that has a different daily distribution than a time period before or after the weekend time period. The computer device may adjust a baseline prediction of the metric for the weekend time period. The computer device may send an alert based on a deviation of a value of the metric from the adjusted baseline prediction.

Redundant distributed data storage system

An improved information management system is provided herein for managing secondary storage computing devices when one or more become unavailable. For example, a first secondary storage computing device in a pool of secondary storage computing devices can run a storage manager virtual machine (VM) that manages secondary copy and restore operations. A second secondary storage computing device in the pool can run a virtualization engine that manages the storage manager VM. The virtualization engine can replicate the storage manager VM data to other secondary storage computing devices in the pool. If the first secondary storage computing devices becomes unavailable, the second secondary storage computing device can instruct a third secondary storage computing device in the pool to launch a replicated storage manager VM using the replicated storage manager VM data stored therein. Thus, the third secondary storage computing device can act as the now unavailable first secondary storage computing device.
