Secure master and secure guest endpoint security firewall

Disclosed embodiments relate to a security firewall having a security hierarchy including: secure master (SM); secure guest (SG); and non-secure (NS). There is one secure master and n secure guests. The firewall includes one secure region for secure master and one secure region for secure guests. The SM region only allows access from the secure master and the SG region allows accesses from any secure transaction. Finally, the non-secure region can be implemented two ways. In a first option, non-secure regions may be accessed only upon non-secure transactions. In a second option, non-secure regions may be accessed any processing core. In this second option, the access is downgraded to a non-secure access if the security identity is secure master or secure guest. If the two security levels are not needed the secure master can unlock the SM region to allow any secure guest access to the SM region.

Various implementations described herein refer to a device having an address bus that provides multi-port addresses from multiple ports including a first address from a first port and a second address from a second port. The device may have column contention-detection circuitry that receives the multi-port addresses from the address bus, compares the first address from the first port with the second address from the second port and provides a contention adjustment signal based on the comparison between the first address and the second address. The device may have bitline collision circuitry that receives the contention adjustment signal, senses wire-to-wire variation related to bitline coupling effects and provides a bitline collision signal based on sensing the bitline coupling effects.

Memory Bank Hotspotting

Systems, apparatuses, and methods for addressing bank hotspotting are described. A computing system includes a memory controller with an arbiter for determining how to arbitrate access to one or more memory device(s) for received requests. The arbiter categorizes each request in a manner that helps to ensure fair virtual channel distribution across the banks of the memory device(s). The category system includes bank hotspotting functions to give banks that have more requests more chances to go over banks with fewer requests. The category system is implemented proportionally with more category credits given to banks with higher bank depths within the virtual channel.

Memory controller for scheduling commands based on response for receiving write command, storage device including the memory controller, and operating method of the memory controller and the storage device

An electronic device includes a memory controller having an improved operation speed. The memory controller includes a processor configured to generate commands for accessing data stored in a main memory, a scheduling circuit configured to store the commands and output the commands according to a preset criterion, and a filtering circuit configured to store information on an address of the main memory corresponding to a write command among the commands, provide a pre-completion response for the write command to the scheduling circuit upon receiving the write command, and provide the write command to the main memory.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR ALLOCATION IN A VICTIM CACHE SYSTEM

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for allocation in a victim cache system. An example apparatus includes a first cache storage, a second cache storage, a cache controller coupled to the first cache storage and the second cache storage and operable to receive a memory operation that specifies an address, determine, based on the address, that the memory operation evicts a first set of data from the first cache storage, determine that the first set of data is unmodified relative to an extended memory, and cause the first set of data to be stored in the second cache storage.

MEMORY CONTROLLER WITH A PLURALITY OF COMMAND SUB-QUEUES AND CORRESPONDING ARBITERS

A memory controller includes a memory channel controller that uses multiple groups of command queue and arbiter pairs. Each arbiter is coupled to a respective command queue to select memory access commands from each command queue according to predetermined criteria. Each arbiter selects from among the memory access requests in each command queue independently based on the predetermined criteria and sends selected memory access requests to a selector that serves as a second level arbiter which sends the request to a memory subchannel.

BANDWIDTH CONTROL FOR INPUT/OUTPUT CHANNELS

Bandwidth control can be provided for input/output channels according to some aspects described herein. In one example, a system can detect an input/output (I/O) request transmitted by a software application. In response to detecting the I/O request, the system can determine a bandwidth group that corresponds to an I/O channel associated with the I/O request. The system can then determine whether bandwidth consumption of the bandwidth group exceeds a predefined bandwidth limit. If so, the system can execute a predefined policy assigned to the I/O channel for handling the I/O request.

MEMORY CONTROLLER, MEMORY SYSTEM AND OPERATING METHOD OF THE MEMORY SYSTEM

An operating method of a memory system including a memory device including a plurality of memory chips is provided. The operating method includes setting a parameter indicating a number of the memory chips allowed to operate in parallel for each of a plurality of operation statuses, based on information about power consumption of each of the plurality of operation statuses of a memory chip among the memory chips; obtaining information about an operation status of each of the plurality of memory chips; and scheduling data access across a plurality of channels respectively corresponding to the plurality of memory chips, based on the parameter and the information about the operation status of each of the plurality of memory chips.

Data storage system data access arbitration

A data storage system can organize a semiconductor memory into a first data set and a second data set with a first queue populated with a first data access request from a host. An assignment of an arbitration weight to the first queue with an arbitration circuit corresponds with the first queue being skipped during a deterministic window based on the arbitration weight.
