Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus, systems, computer program products for searching technical documentation for an item in an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access to the technical documentation for the item via an IETM viewer. In one embodiment, a method is provided comprising: providing a window for display via the IETM viewer; receiving a search term; and responsive to receiving the term: searching the documentation to identify first search results comprising components and topics having titles containing the term, searching the documentation to identify second search results comprising components and topics having textual content containing the term, searching the documentation to identify third search results comprising components and topics having part identifiers and part names containing the term, and providing the first, second, and third search results for display via first, second, and third view panes on the window.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus, systems, computer program products for providing a virtual network within an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access via an IETM viewer to technical documentation for an item. In one embodiment, a method is provided comprising: receiving data from a graphical code as a result of a user scanning the code; and responsive to receiving the data: identifying virtual networks supported within the IETM that are available for the user to join and are associated with a specific object of the item; providing an identifier for each of the virtual networks; receiving selection of an identifier for a particular virtual network; and responsive to receiving the selection, joining the user to the virtual network so that content that is specific to the object associated with the virtual network is available to the user via the IETM.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus, systems, computer program products for providing an electrical schematic associated with wiring data found in technical documentation for an item via an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access to the technical documentation via an IETM viewer. In one embodiment, a method is provided comprising: providing a window comprising the electrical schematic in which a plurality of wires and a plurality of components shown in the electrical schematic are selectable; receiving selection of a wire; responsive to receiving the selection: generating a preview wire window for the wire comprising wiring information describing properties of the wire and/or other information related to the wire provided in the wiring data; and providing the preview wire window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the preview wire window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus, systems, computer program products for providing functionality at an end of textual information found in technical documentation for an item via an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access to the technical documentation via an IETM viewer. In one embodiment, a method is provided comprising: providing a window comprising (1) a first view pane displaying the textual information and (2) a second view pane displaying media content; receiving input of a user scrolling to the end of the information; responsive to receiving the input, providing a selection mechanism configured to perform functionality as a result of the user selecting the mechanism; and after the mechanism has been displayed: receiving input of the user scrolling to a position not at the end of the information; and responsive to receiving the input, causing the mechanism to be removed.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus, systems, computer program products for providing previews at an end of textual information for a topic found in technical documentation for an item via an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access to the technical documentation via an IETM viewer. In one embodiment e, a method is provided comprising: providing a window comprising (1) a first view pane displaying the textual information and (2) a second view pane displaying media content; receiving input of a user scrolling to the end of the textual information: responsive to receiving the input, providing a selection mechanism for display; receiving selection of the mechanism; responsive to receiving the selection: generating and providing for display a preview window displaying a portion of content comprising textual information and/or media content for a second topic found in the technical documentation for the item.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus, systems, computer program products for providing previews at an end of textual information for a topic found in technical documentation for an item via an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access to the technical documentation via an IETM viewer. In one embodiment e, a method is provided comprising: providing a window comprising (1) a first view pane displaying the textual information and (2) a second view pane displaying media content; receiving input of a user scrolling to the end of the textual information: responsive to receiving the input, providing a selection mechanism for display; receiving selection of the mechanism; responsive to receiving the selection: generating and providing for display a preview window displaying a portion of content comprising textual information and/or media content for a second topic found in the technical documentation for the item.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus, systems, computer program products for displaying textual information for a topic found in technical documentation for an item via an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access to the technical documentation via an IETM viewer. In one embodiment, a method is provided comprising: receiving a selection of the topic to view the information; and responsive to receiving the selection: identifying a security classification attribute for the information from metadata; identifying a display format for the information based on the security classification attribute; determining an availability to view the information based on the security classification attribute and a security level of a user; and providing a window for display, wherein the information is presented on the window using the first display format and the information is available or not to view based on the availability.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus, systems, computer program products for displaying applicability for an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access via an IETM viewer to technical documentation for an item. In one embodiment, a method is provided comprising: receiving a selection of a topic by a user to view information for the topic; and responsive to receiving the selection: determining whether the user is signed into the IETM for a specific object; and responsive to the user being signed in for the object: determining whether each applicability element found in the information is related to the object; and generating and providing a window to display the information in which each applicability element related to the object is configured as viewable and selectable by the user and each applicability element not related to the object is configured as not viewable.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus, systems, computer program products for generating an annotation for textual information and/or media content for technical documentation for an item in an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access to the technical documentation via an IETM viewer. In one embodiment, a method is provided comprising: providing a window for display comprising the textual information and/or media content; receiving input of a selection of an annotation selection mechanism; and responsive to receiving the input: generating the annotation for the textual information and/or media content; receiving an indication of a position in the textual information and/or media content to associate with the annotation; and providing an annotation window for the annotation for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the annotation window comprises an attach file mechanism, a capture mechanism, a share mechanism, and a change form mechanism.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus, systems, computer program products for transferring a performance of a procedure found in technical documentation for an item via an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access to the technical documentation. In one embodiment, a method is provided comprising: providing the steps of the procedure in an order in which the steps are to be carried out; and while a user is participating in the performance of the procedure: causing a particular step that is being carried out to be highlighted; receiving input of a selection of a transfer mechanism and in response: causing an indication to be displayed between the particular step and a next step to be carried out identifying where the performance has been suspended; providing a transfer window displaying transfer information; and recording the transfer information and an identifier for the indication.
