LINER FOR PROSTHETIC AND ORTHOPEDIC SYSTEMS
A liner is arranged for use in prosthetic and orthopedic devices. The liner defines first and second end portions, and inner and outer surfaces. The liner includes an inner layer having a frictional component and forms at least part of the periphery of the inner liner surface. The inner layer defines a plurality of apertures. A porous element is in communication with the inner liner surface and is connected to the inner layer such that the apertures permit a transfer of air from the inner surface to the porous element. A base layer adjoins the porous element and extends between the first and second end portions of the liner.
Prosthetic limb sockets and methods of making and using
The present disclosure is directed to prosthetic limb sockets that couple prosthetic limbs to residual limbs. The sockets include a conical cup sized to engage and couple to the residual limb, and a base to secure the socket to the prosthetic limb. The sockets are direct heat-formable onto the residual limb, such that they can be heated and formed as they are secured to the residual limb.

LINER FOR A PROSTHESIS
A liner for a prosthesis, wherein the liner is made of a liner material and comprises a proximal opening for accommodating an amputation stump, a distal end, a longitudinal direction, which extends from the proximal opening to the distal end, and an auxetic material The auxetic material is a two-dimensional-auxetic material, which is arranged in such a way that an extension of the liner in the longitudinal direction leads to an expansion of a diameter of the liner.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A BREAST PROSTHESIS
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a breast prosthesis, in which a first dispersion of a first granular material is introduced into a cross-linkable silicone compound. The silicone compound subsequently is cured in order to form a prosthesis body, wherein the prosthesis body is heated to a shrinking temperature which lies above the melting point of the thermoplastic material.
Multi-Matrix Composite Prosthetic Socket and Methods of Fabrication
A multi-matrix composite socket includes struts formed from a first matrix composite and inner and outer layers relative to the struts formed from at least a second matrix composite. Each matrix composite is comprised of fibers embedded in a resin. The fibers create spaces into which a flowable resin infuses during manufacturing and also reinforce the resin. A base and a plurality of struts are assembled and positioned over a first fabric layer and a second fabric layer is positioned over the struts. A resin is infused into the spaces defined by the first and second fabric layers and around the struts to form an over-molded multi-composite matrix socket.
Breathable residual-limb socket system
Breathable residual-limb system that admits air and allows sweat to evaporate from the surface of the residual limb. In an embodiment, the system comprises a liner sock to be worn on the residual limb, and comprising air-permeable textile forming a substantially cylindrical portion that is closed on a distal end and open on a proximal end and comprising an internal surface and an external surface. The liner sock further comprises a friction-interface material that covers only a portion of the internal surface of the air-permeable textile, such that, when worn on the residual limb, the friction-interface material contacts a surface of the residual limb, and an uncovered portion of the air-permeable textile which the friction-interface material does not cover allows air to pass between an external environment of the liner sock and the surface of the residual limb.
