Reading proficiency system and method

A method for improving reading proficiency in persons in need of improvement. The method includes the steps of providing a body of digital text on an electronic device; extracting a selected portion of digital text from the body of digital text; analyzing the selected portion by natural language processing to produce a phonetical font, the phonetical font including a representation of a letter that when heard or said voices a phoneme of the letter; rendering the analyzed selected portion into the phonetical font; and utilizing the phonetical font to increase reading proficiency.

The embedded font text is processed to generate original glyph metrics data, a combined original font glyph width based on the original glyph metrics data, and one or more candidate font families are identified. For each candidate font family a combined candidate font family glyph width is calculated and a candidate font family difference, the candidate font family difference being a measure of how the candidate font family's combined candidate font family glyph width compares to the combined original font glyph width. A particular candidate font family is selected as a replacement font family based on the candidate font family differences of the one or more candidate font families.

Methods and System of Electronic Image Analysis

A machine translation of a document is created via a compilation of services by mapping textual content from an image to create a plurality of mapped locations correspondent to at least one object from the image, populating each of the mapped locations with at least one character indicative of the object, each character sharing at least one similar attribute, adding to the image the populated mapped locations, and highlighting at least a portion of the textual content in accordance with the populated at least one character. A compilation of services is provided for identifying, extracting, and assessing electronic images by using a layered approach that reduces time and improves reviewing of medical records and other kinds of documentation.
