A computer-implemented system and method that includes receiving, by a messaging hub computer system, from a point of sale (POS) device of a merchant, a request to process a refund for a transaction that occurred between the merchant and a mobile device of a payor, the request comprising a previously used code that was exchanged between the POS device and the mobile device. The method includes determining, by the messaging hub computer system, a first financial institution based at least partially on a portion of the code, and receiving, from a computer system of the first financial institution, payment credential information of an account held by the payor to process the refund using the payment credential information. The method may further include transferring, by the messaging hub computer system, the refund from an account held by the merchant to the account held by the payor.

System and method for enabling a user to select a securable device throughout multiple securable device stations

A system and method of provisioning a securable device may include providing a plurality of securable device stations, each securable device station including (i) a controller and (ii) a set of securable devices in local communication with the controller, the controller being configured to enable a user to initiate access to a securable device from a set of securable devices. In response to a first controller of a first securable device station receiving (i) an access indicia and (ii) rental parameter that enables the user to access a securable device located in at least two of the securable device stations from a user, the first controller may communicate the access indicia and rental parameter to a network address that enables, by a second controller, the user to access a securable device at the second securable device station as provided by the rental parameter.

Method and system for distributing digital media content

A method and system for distributing digital content to customers at a plurality of points of transaction that allows each content provider to use its own method of digital rights management. A master digital catalog is used to load product data from a plurality of different content providers. The catalog contents are provided to retailers and other points of transaction. A digital activation broker processes customer orders from the points of transaction and provides information that allows the customer access to the content. The content may be provided by the digital activation broker or through a third-party website. In some embodiments, a payment processor is used to process payments submitted by the customers. The digital activation broker may also void transactions and look up lost authorization codes.

Each financial service approved by the cashier is processed by the terminal and a fee is charged to the customer. The terminal further performs a purchase transaction that includes the fee for the financial service and receives payment from the customer for the purchase.

Method for managing mobile point of sale (mPOS) operations using a wireless network to detect location data includes capturing video data of one or more customers within a retail store premises. The video data is analyzed to determine one or more customer behavior indicators potentially indicating a need for mPOS services. The location data is used to correlate the customer behavior indicators with the one or more customers. The method also involves determining a probability that at least one of the customers will be requesting mPOS services within a predetermined interval of time.

Information gathering and decoding apparatus and method of use

An information gathering and decoding apparatus includes two information gathering devices that communicate with one another, preferably wirelessly. The two information gathering devices may be used substantially simultaneously to process one, or multiple, customer orders. Customer order information is sent from one information gathering device to the other, and only one of the information gathering devices communicates with a computer system to send information from both of the information gathering devices to the computer system as if the information originated from the one information gathering device. Communication between the two information gathering devices combined with a microprocessor in at least one of the information gathering devices may allow the information gathering and decoding apparatus to be used with existing computer systems, such as point of sale systems, preferably without modifying the computer system. One information gathering device may pre-qualify customers to purchase restricted items. The second information gathering device may access the pre-qualification from the first information gathering device to process sales of restricted items to customers.
