Device and method for NFC device charging

The present disclosure relates to a detection method or device, by a first NFC device generating an electromagnetic field for recharging a battery of a second NFC device, of a disruptive condition, in which thresholds (MHTH, MLTH, PHTH, PLTH) for detection of a variation of the field are adjusted in real time during the recharging.

WIRELESS TAG READING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD FOR A WIRELESS TAG READING APPARATUS
20210224494 · 2021-07-22 ·

In accordance with an embodiment, a wireless tag reading apparatus includes an antenna, first and second power feeding ports, and a controller. The first power feeding port feeds electric power into the antenna so as to emit the first linearly polarized wave from the antenna. The second power feeding port feeds electric power into the antenna so as to emit the second linearly polarized wave from the antenna. The controller sets a ratio of a time of power feeding from the first power feeding port to a time of power feeding from the second power feeding port to take a value according to a ratio of the number of wireless tags existing in the direction of the first linearly polarized wave to the number of wireless tags existing in the direction of the second linearly polarized wave.

RFID tag reading antenna

An RFID tag reading antenna includes a loop antenna including a first loop-shaped conductor having a peripheral length shorter than a ¼ wavelength in a communication frequency; and a split ring resonator including a second loop-shaped conductor having an opening smaller than an opening of the first loop-shaped conductor of the loop antenna and being arranged at a position away from a plane formed by the first loop-shaped conductor by a predetermined distance. In addition, the RFID tag reading antenna is coupled to an RFID tag as a communication partner, in a state where a distance from the RFID tag to the split ring resonator is shorter than a distance from the loop antenna to the split ring resonator.

TRACKING SYSTEM AND METHOD USING INJECTION PROBE

This disclosure describes techniques for operating an inductive coupling reader. The techniques include operations comprising: applying an excitation frequency to a resonance circuit of the inductive coupling reader; detecting a change to a resonance frequency of the resonance circuit of the inductive coupling reader; and in response to detecting the change to the resonance frequency of the inductive coupling reader, adjusting the excitation frequency being applied to the resonance circuit.

PROTOCOL FOR ALLOCATION OF POWER SIGNAL

Disclosed are methods, systems and devices for allocating a power signal. In one particular implementation, a reader device may exchange messages with one more transponder devices to determine an allocation of a power signal. For example, one or more transponder devices may provide one or more messages in a downlink signal indicative of a requested signal up time.

An example disclosed method includes, in response to receiving a first signal at a communication device when the communication device is in a deep sleep mode, changing the tag from the deep sleep mode to an awake mode for a period of time, wherein the communication device consumes a first amount of power in the deep sleep mode, and the communication device consumes a second amount of power in the awake mode, and the second amount of power is greater than the first amount of power; in response to receiving a second signal during the period of time when in the awake mode, changing the communication device from the awake mode to a fully functional mode, wherein the communication device consumes a third amount of power in the fully functional mode, and the third amount of power is greater than the second amount of power; and, in response to not receiving the second signal during the period of time, changing the communication device from the awake mode to the deep sleep mode.

Incontinence detection pad with liquid filter layer

An absorbent article has one or more fluid filter layers to inhibit electrode traces from being exposed to low volumes of fluid to reduce the number of false positives that are indicated by an RFID tag of the incontinence detection pad. An antenna inlay has a sacrificial trace portion to permit testing for proper operation of an RFID chip electrically coupled to the antenna inlay, After testing, the sacrificial trace portion is severed. A fluid barrier layer blocks fluid from reaching portions of electrode traces that are located on a backsheet outside a periphery of an absorbent core of an incontinence detection pad. The power at which an antenna transmits to wirelessly energize a passive RFID tag of an incontinence detection pad is controlled to reduce the number of false positives indicated by the RFID tag.
