Method of managing an output power delivered by an antenna of a NFC apparatus and NFC apparatus
In an embodiment, a method of managing an output power delivered by an antenna of a NFC apparatus includes: providing a matching circuit with a first tuning capacitive network coupled in series between a NFC controller and the antenna and with a second tuning capacitive network coupled to the NFC controller and the antenna and to a reference terminal, wherein the first or second tuning capacitive network has a variable capacitive value; determining tuning capacitive values of the first tuning capacitive networks to adjust a delivered output power at a desired level; and setting the tuning capacitive values of the first tuning capacitive network to the tuning capacitive values.
Method of managing priority in the context of a secure element domain with multiple interfaces, electronic device and communication system
A method of managing priority in an electronic device, wherein the electronic device comprises a contact-less communication domain and a secure element domain, wherein the contact-less communication domain and the secure element domain are connected via a domain interface, and wherein the secure element domain comprises two or more interfaces. The method comprises: i) detecting (by the contact-less communication domain), a radio frequency (RF) field of an external device and, upon detecting said RF field or upon receiving a first command from the external device, ii) sending a priority request via the domain interface to the secure element domain; iii) receiving (by the secure element domain) the priority request and identifying whether the secure element domain is in a processing status, hereby iv) upon identifying that the secure element domain is not in a processing status, approving (by the secure element domain) the requested priority, and starting a transaction (by the contact-less communication domain) in a priority status; and v) upon identifying that the secure element domain is in a processing status, denying (by the secure element domain) the requested priority, and starting a mute status or remaining in a mute status (by the contact-less communication domain), such that the external device cannot detect the contact-less communication domain.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CRYPTOGRAPHIC AUTHENTICATION OF CONTACTLESS CARDS
Example embodiments of systems and methods for data transmission system between transmitting and receiving devices are provided. In an embodiment, each of the transmitting and receiving devices can contain a master key. The transmitting device can generate a diversified key using the master key, protect a counter value and encrypt data prior to transmitting to the receiving device, which can generate the diversified key based on the master key and can decrypt the data and validate the protected counter value using the diversified key.

System and method for collecting and returning luggage at public transportation systems
Disclosed are a system and a method for collecting and returning luggage at public transportation systems. The method includes storing characteristic features and metadata corresponding to a luggage and its individual owner, and associating a color while collecting the luggage at a luggage submitting terminal. The luggage may be easily identified at a luggage providing terminal, using an identification tag attached to the luggage and the associated metadata (including the associated colour). Upon an end of journey, the individual may be allowed to pick the luggage upon providing a handshake signal. In case the handshake signal is not provided and the individual owner's metadata is not matched, security agencies may be alerted about picking of the luggage by another individual.
Waking payment readers using point-of-sale (POS) devices
Techniques described herein are directed to, among other things, wireless payment readers configured to transition between multiple different power states. In some instances, these power states include one or more relatively low-power states such that an overall battery life of the wireless payment readers are lengthened. Further, in some instances, a point-of-sale (POS) application operating on a POS device that wirelessly couples to an example wireless payment reader may cause the wireless payment reader to transition from one state to another, such as from a first, lower-power state to a second, higher-power state in response to the POS application determining that a payment is to be processed using the wireless payment reader.
AD-HOC LIGHTWEIGHT mPOS REMOTE CONTROL
Disclosed herein are a device, method, and system for dynamically activating a lightweight mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) within a remote control creating an ad-hoc payment system within a media system. When the lightweight mPOS is activated, remote control may operate as an ad-hoc lightweight mPOS that is capable of receiving contactless payment information for purchase of content provided by a media device. The lightweight mPOS may be controlled by the media device in response to a request to purchase the content.
Wireless device and selective user control and management of a wireless device and data
A wireless transponder configured to generate or activate data and next step data actions for use with an appliance/device or network, and a method of using the wireless transponder.
Methods and systems for an electronic shelf label system
An electronic shelf label system comprising an electronic display device and a plurality of electronic shelf labels is provided. A computing system transmits data transmissions to the plurality of electronic shelf labels. Each of the electronic shelf labels are configured to receive, from the computing system, data to render on an electronic display of each of the electronic shelf labels. The electronic display device is configured to determine, based on at least one of a set of specified conditions or the data rendered on each of the electronic shelf labels, content to be rendered on the electronic display of the electronic display device, and adjust the display of the electronic display device to render the content based on the determination.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REMOTE MONITORING, CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF AN ANIMAL
A system for the remote care of an item of vegetation used as a potential source of food for an animal, to include at least one of a proximity tag, RFID tag, transponder device, a predetermined machine-readable pattern, and geo-location device associated with the item of vegetation, and an aerial drone. The aerial drone includes a microprocessor, a sensor coupled to the microprocessor and configured to detect the at least one of the proximity tag, RFID tag, transponder device, predetermined machine-readable pattern, and the geo-location device, and a carrier configured to carry a substance comprising at least one of a solid, gas, and liquid. The aerial drone is configured to act in response to instructions issued by the microprocessor.
