APPARATUS FOR SECURE DELIVERY OF A PACKAGE
An apparatus for authenticating a package delivery in absence of a recipient. The apparatus includes a frame that can be mounted to ground or an upstanding structure. One or more enclosures and a control unit encased in the frame. Each one or more enclosures having a digital lock operably coupled to the control unit. The enclosures can be reserved for package delivery, wherein the control unit can receive a configuration file from a user device and reserves the enclosure for the package delivery on a predefined date and duration. The control unit can receive and verify the delivery request from a service provider's device for the package delivery. The control unit can verify and authenticate the delivery request based on the configuration instruction and accordingly unlock the enclosure for the package delivery.
Apparatus and Methods for Hygiene Monitoring in Restaurants and Grocery Superstores
This disclosure describes methods and apparatus for hygiene monitoring in chain restaurants and grocery superstores. Four sub-systems are introduced to take care of different aspects of hygiene in restaurants. One sub-system uses contactless and in-contact temperature sensors installed on appliances to constantly monitor the temperature of working appliances to be in pre-defined range and use an Internet of Things gateways to transmit the data to remote control unit. The system generate an alert or report if the temperature of the appliances falls beyond the predefined range for more than a specific period of time. Another sub-system use a combination of temperature, humidity, UV and gas detectors to monitor the environment to be unsuitable for growth of fungus and bacteria and alert in case of exposure to harmful material and sun radiation. This sub-system also use an Internet of Things gateways to transmit the data to remote control unit. The third sub-system use a combination of radio frequency tags attached to the staff, RF tag readers and infrared/proximity/motion/microphone/touch sensors installed over the faucet and dispenser to monitor if the staff wash their hands properly after going to the restroom. The forth sub-system automatically generate food expiring label for opened cans and food container based on RF tag worn by the staff. The system generate and print the label whenever the staff gesture their RF tags in front of them and potentially scan the container bar code or select it from a drop-down menu on its touch screen. The last sub-system can also monitor the inventory of opened cans of food in the refrigerator and provide a report or alert when they the time gets close to expiration date.
Tolling System Using Both Fully and Limited Equipped Detection Systems
A method performed by a computing system includes receiving from a first detection system, a plurality of identity tokens, the plurality of identity tokens including different types of identity tokens, the first detection system having a plurality of different types of detection instruments. The method further includes using information from the first detection system, creating correlation information that correlates different types of identity tokens. The method further includes receiving from a second detection system, a number of identity tokens, the second detection system having a plurality of different types of detection instruments that is fewer than the first detection system. The method further includes using the number of identity tokens received from the first and second detection systems, identifying a vehicle passing through the second detection system.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FACILITATING RECYCLING
A method is provided comprising receiving, at a recycling facilitation system, a container identifier, authenticating, by the recycling facilitation system, the container identifier, determining, by the recycling facilitation system, at least one of the availability or identity of an incentive, and distributing, by the recycling facilitation system, the incentive. A method is further provided comprising receiving, at an incentive system, an authenticated container identifier, determining, by the incentive system, at least one of the availability or identity of an incentive, and distributing, by the incentive system, the incentive.
DYNAMIC RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION DEVICE AND SYSTEM
A universal radio frequency identification reader and emulation handheld device and system configured to read and emulate radio frequency identification tags in the low frequency, high frequency, and ultra-high frequency spectrums. The system may include a mobile or a web application to control and interact with the handheld device. The mobile application may receive an identifier of an RFID tag, upload the identifier to a server, determine, via the server a chip/identifying number of the RFID, and command an RFID emulator to emulate an RFID tag based on the received chip/identifying number.
OPERATIONS SYSTEM FOR COMBINING INDEPENDENT PRODUCT MONITORING SYSTEMS TO AUTOMATICALLY MANAGE PRODUCT INVENTORY AND PRODUCT PRICING AND AUTOMATE STORE PROCESSES
In some implementations, a device may receive data identifying products and encoded data identifying smart tags of the products. The device may map the data and the encoded data to generate encoded product data. The device may receive encoded data provided by smart tags of products received by a store. The device may receive images of the products. The device may compare the encoded data and the encoded product data to identify a set of the products received by the store. The device may correlate the images with the set of the products. The device may process the correlated data to identify locations of the set of the products in the store. The device may generate an instruction to relocate a product to a new location and may provide the instruction to a device, associated with the store, to cause the product to be relocated to the new location.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COLLECTING AND RETURNING LUGGAGE AT PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS
Disclosed are a system and a method for collecting and returning luggage at public transportation systems. The method includes storing characteristic features and metadata corresponding to a luggage and its individual owner, and associating a color while collecting the luggage at a luggage submitting terminal. The luggage may be easily identified at a luggage providing terminal, using an identification tag attached to the luggage and the associated metadata (including the associated colour). Upon an end of journey, the individual may be allowed to pick the luggage upon providing a handshake signal. In case the handshake signal is not provided and the individual owner's metadata is not matched, security agencies may be alerted about picking of the luggage by another individual.
ELECTRONIC PRODUCT CODE (EPC) ENCODING FOR RETAILER-SPECIFIC RADIO-FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION (RFID) TAGS
A system determines an electronic product code (EPC) and a checksum read from a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag. The system calculates a new checksum based on the EPC and a retailer-specific number associated with a retailer that owns one or more RFID tags. The system compares the new checksum with the checksum read from the RFID tag, and determines whether the RFID tag is owned by the retailer based on whether the new checksum matches the checksum read from the RFID tag.
Veterinary Thermometer And Method of Managing Animal Health Considering Ambient Temperature And Humidity Conditions
The invention includes a wireless multifunction veterinary thermometer device that communicates with a mobile communication device running an application software or “app” that is used to record animal temperature data and to display animal treatment options considering the recorded data and ambient weather conditions. Treatment options may be determined by logic programmed within the app or by another computer program associated with a remote server and database. Data transfer takes place between the mobile device and the remote server/database. A heat stress indicator is displayed for the user. If the indicator represents a high heat stress level, the app logic or remote computer program may automatically generate a recommended treatment option, or the user may determine an appropriate treatment. User interfaces are provided for displaying and recording a wide range of additional data concerning the animal.
ELECTRONIC CARE AND CONTENT CLOTHING LABEL
The system disclosed here can detect a counterfeit item by obtain an identifier (ID) of an item from the item and determining whether the ID of the item is authentic by determining whether the ID of the item is compliant with a predetermined rule, such as whether the item is included in a database of valid IDs. Upon determining that the ID of the item is compliant with the predetermined rule, the system can produce a notification that the item is authentic. Upon determining that the ID of the item is not generated by the predetermined rule, the system can produce a notification that the item is counterfeit.
