Papercraft digitization
A computer-implemented method for digitization of papercraft folding for creation of a papercraft model may include monitoring, via an RFID reader, a sheet provided with an array of RFID tags. Based on the RFID reader output, the occurrence of a fold performed on the sheet is determined. The method further includes determining fold properties of the occurred fold and storing the fold properties as a fold dataset of the occurred fold.
JEWELRY INCLUDING ETCHED OR PRINTED INFORMATION AND METHOD TO OPTICALLY OR WIRELESSLY ACCESS DIGITAL REPLICA OF THE ETCHED OR PRINTED INFORMATION
A jewelry article, and systems and methods for accessing human readable information printed or etched on the jewelry article are disclosed. The printed or etched human readable information included in the jewelry article cannot be viewed without a visual aid. The jewelry article includes a wireless or optical tag corresponding to the printed or etched human readable information. The wireless or optical tag is associated with an electronic file corresponding to the printed or etched human readable information. The wireless or optical tag is configured to be readable by an external reader connected to an external database that stores the electronic file corresponding to the printed or etched human readable information. The external reader is configured to read the wireless or optical tag to access the associated electronic file stored in the external database. Information included in the electronic file may be displayed on a display.
Mobile proximity coupling device
The invention relates to a mobile proximity coupling device (100) for inductive coupling with an integrated circuit of a proximity object, the integrated circuit comprising a coupling interface for inductive coupling, the proximity coupling device (100) comprising a contactless interface (107) being configured to inductively transmit a first number of commands towards the integrated circuit, and, after transmitting a respective command, to wait for a reception of a dedicated answer to the respective command from the integrated circuit within a predetermined time interval; and a processor (109) being configured to determine a quality indicator upon the basis of a second number of received dedicated answers to the first number of commands, the quality indicator indicating a quality of an inductive coupling between the contactless interface and the coupling interface of the integrated circuit.
System Providing Self-Service Access to Locked Merchandise
A system providing self-service access to locked merchandise comprising: (a) providing a fixture that restricts access to the locked merchandise, wherein the fixture can automatically lock or unlock, allowing or restricting access to the locked merchandise; (b) providing a means of uniquely identifying an individual attempting to access the merchandise; (c) measuring a set of behaviors of the individual during any time the fixture is an open mode; (d) assessing whether the set of behaviors of the individual are suspicious or not relative to a set of suspicious event thresholds; (e) storing the individual and their set of behaviors as accessible records in at least one database; and (f) providing an algorithm which determines future access privileges of the individual to the enclosure based on a set of variables.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PERFORMING PAYMENT TRANSACTIONS
A wearable payment device, such as a finger ring worn by a user, communicates payment data to a payment reader that uses the payment data in order to request a payment transaction. Such wearable payment device may be conveniently carried by and accessible to the user such that utilization of the payment device for the payment transaction is less burdensome for the user, thereby encouraging use of the payment device for payments. Indeed, in some cases, such as when the payment device is implemented as a finger ring or other type of jewelry, the user may be encouraged to carry the payment device in an exposed manner such that it is readily available for the payment transaction without the user having to search in a wallet, pocket, or purse.
BAGGAGE COLLECTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An article of manufacture can include a tangible, non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising: receiving, by the processor and through a first scanner, a plurality of unique identifiers for a plurality of bags; receiving, by the processor through a second scanner, a first unique identifier for a bag; determining, by the processor, a location of the bag in a collection area of a conveyor system associated with the first unique identifier; and commanding, by the processor and through a collection device, transferring of the bag to a second conveyor belt for depositing at a pickup location.
COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND SYSTEM INCLUDING COMMUNICATION DEVICE
A communication device includes a communicator that communicates with an RF tag in a non-contact manner, a communication unit that exchanges data with a host device, and a controller that controls the communicator and the communication unit. Every time the communicator sequentially reads data from the RF tag that passes a communication-feasible region near the communicator at regular time intervals or irregular time intervals, the controller updates first data to be exchanged with the host device by the communication unit so as to include the read data. Also, the controller updates second data to be exchanged with the host device by the communication unit to a value different from a previous value in association with timing with which the first data is updated.
WIRELESS REMOTE MONITORING OF SUPPLY BINS
A provisioning system includes a plurality of supply bins each having a bottom wall and a peripheral wall extending upward from the bottom wall to define a bin interior. A sensor module is disposed in each bin interior. The sensor module includes an RF interface capable of providing wireless communication and a sensor capable of detecting items in the bin interior and communicating via the RF interface based upon a quantity of the items detected by the sensor in the bin interior. An RF reader reads all of the RF interfaces in the supply bins in a supply room to determine what items need to be resupplied.
Digital twin management in IoT systems
Managing digital asset representation of physical assets in IoT systems and environments. A digital twin is created, tracked, and modified throughout the physical asset's lifetime using a digital registry having a data record including a unique identifier (optionally encrypted) and a storage device location information for the digital twin. A physical tag is coupled to the physical asset and scanned for read and write operations from and to the digital twin. The digital twin can move to a new storage device across a cloud environment and the registry maintains consistent access.
Communication apparatus and communication method
A communication apparatus (100) according to the present disclosure is a communication apparatus (100) that performs non-contact communication with an external apparatus (200) via a memory (210) of the external apparatus (200). The communication apparatus (100) includes a control unit (120). The control unit (120) receives a message including a parameter related to the control of the non-contact communication. The control unit (120) performs the non-contact communication with the external apparatus (200) on the basis of the parameter.
