Method and system for digital record verification

A system and a method are disclosed that enable a mobile device to use an encoded tag to initiate and maintain communications with at least one remote server. The encoded tag is positioned to identify a point of interest, and in response to using the mobile device to scan the encoded tag, communications regarding the point of interest may be initiated. A single encoded tag may be used to obtain and update recorded information about the point of interest, to notify others about an issue related to the point of interest, to log into the system, and to wait to be alerted about an issue related to the point of interest. If an issue relating to a point of interest has been reported, the system and method may monitor the reported issue to ensure that an action has been taken to address the reported issue.

Equipment management method and system based on radio frequency identification

An equipment management method based on radio frequency identification comprises binding a first electronic tag and second electronic tags, reading the first electronic tag in a search mode, obtaining an abnormality list of one or more abnormal tags in the second electronic tags according to the first electronic tag, reading one of the second electronic tags in the search mode, and outputting an error signal when the read second electronic tag matches up to the abnormality list. The first electronic tag is set on a test machine, the second electronic tag are respectively set on test elements, and the test elements are disposed in the test machine.

Theft prevention for returned merchandise

Consistent with disclosed embodiments, systems, methods, and computer readable media for electronic security systems for preventing theft of returned goods may be provided. Embodiments may include an electronic article surveillance (EAS) gate in an establishment and at least one receiver configured to receive transmissions from wirelessly transmitting tags. Embodiments may also include at least one processor configured to receive, from a mobile communications device associated with a previous purchaser, a notification of intent to return a previously purchased product to the establishment; identify a unique tag ID of a specific wirelessly transmitting tag associated with the previously purchased product; update a data structure to indicate that the previously purchased product was returned to the establishment; and enable an ability to initiate an alarm when the at least one receiver receives a transmission from the specific tag associated with the previously purchased product in proximity to the EAS gate.

A near field communication device included in a secure transaction card provides an addition and/or transitional communication link for communicating secure transaction information. The near field communication device may be selectively engaged or disengaged and, when engaged, either active or passive modes of operation of the near field communication device can be selected. in the active mode, secure transaction information is transmitted upon establishment of a communication link with a complementary near field communication device. In the passive mode, secure transaction information is transmitted upon interrogation from a complementary near field communication device. Secure transaction information is generated and stored for transmission in a memory and at least a portion of the memory is erased or nulled upon transmission or upon expiration of a selected period of time.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING WHEELED VEHICLES USING RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION (RFID) DEVICES
20170327142 · 2017-11-16 ·

Various embodiments of a system for tracking and/or controlling wheeled vehicles (such as shopping carts), are described. In some embodiments, the system includes an RFID tag on the cart and an RFID reader device external to the cart. The tag can receive an interrogation signal from the reader and reply with a response signal. In various embodiments, the reader or a central control unit can perform various calculations based on the response signal, such as generating a received signal strength indication (RSSI) value. In some embodiments, based on the RSSI value or otherwise, the reader can send a command signal to the tag to take an action, such as to engage a brake mechanism.
