A radio frequency identification (RFID) tag includes an antenna, an analog front end, a processing circuit, and memory. The analog front end includes a power circuit, a tuning circuit, a transmitter, and a receiver. The power circuit is operably coupled to convert a radio frequency (RF) signal into a power supply voltage. The tuning circuit, when enabled, adjusts an RF characteristic of the analog front end to tune power harvesting from the RF signal. The transmitter is operably coupled to transmit a response signal to the RFID reader via the antenna. The receiver is operably coupled to receive a command signal from the RFID reader, wherein the command signal is contained within a portion of the RF signal. The processing circuit is operable to interpret the command signal and generate the response signal.

Location-Based Configuration of a Load Control Device

A method of automatically programming a new load control device that replaces an old load control device takes advantage of a remote identification tag (e.g., an RFID tag) located in the vicinity of the old device. The remote identification tag stores an identifier that is representative of a location in which the old device is installed. The method includes the steps of: (1) storing a setting of an old device in a memory of a controller; (2) associating the setting with the identifier of the old device in the memory of the controller; (3) the new device retrieving the identifier from the remote identification tag after the new device is installed in the location of the old device; (4) the new device transmitting the identifier to the controller; and (5) the controller transmitting the setting of the old device to the new device in response to receiving the identifier.

CARD READER TERMINAL WITH EXTERNAL CONTACTLESS ANTENNA

Techniques for performing secure contactless payments are disclosed. An example apparatus includes an external contactless card reader, including a first short-distance communication antenna, connected to a card reader terminal using a feed line. The first short-distance communication antenna is configured to convert an electromagnetic signal including data received from a contactless payment card into an analog signal and is not configured to digitize the analog signal. The card reader terminal includes a short-distance receiver circuit and a secure controller, both located within a secure area, and a second short-distance communication antenna, wherein the first and second short-distance communication antennas are connected via separate paths to the short-distance receiver circuit. An example method includes receiving an electromagnetic signal including card data via a short-distance communication antenna in an external contactless card reader, converting the electromagnetic signal into an analog signal and transferring the analog signal to a card reader terminal.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR GENERATING RFID LABELS USING AUTOMATED TAG ENCODING, AND VERIFICATION OF RFID LABELS POST GENERATION
20230214613 · 2023-07-06 ·

The present disclosure provides a system and method for generating RFID labels using automated RFID encoding, and verification of RFID labels post generation. In some aspect, generating RFID labels may be done using a label printer and an easy-to-attach RFID encoder. The RFID encoder may include an RFID controller coupled to a network, one or more antennas, a barcode scanner, and one or more optical detectors. As printed RFID labels pass through the label printer, the RFID encoder receives serialization data on the printed labels, which is translated into encode data by the RFID encoder and mask encoded into the RFID labels.

Systems, methods, articles of manufacture, and computer-readable media. A server may receive a phone call and generate a uniform resource locator (URL) comprising a session identifier for an account. The server may transmit the URL to a client device. The server may receive, from a web browser, a request comprising the URL. The server may determine that the session identifier in the URL of the request matches the session identifier for the account, and transmit, to the web browser, a web page at the URL. The server may receive, from the web browser, a cryptogram read by the web page via a card reader of the client device and decrypt the cryptogram. The server may authenticate the identity of the caller for the call based on decrypting the cryptogram and the session identifier of the URL matching the session identifier of the account.
