TYPE 4 NFC TAGS AS PROTOCOL INTERFACE
20220398565 · 2022-12-15 ·

NFC terminal devices and corresponding integrated circuit cards (ICCs) use NFC Type 4 tags as a protocol interface for complex or encrypted communication protocols that are not natively supported by the NFC terminal devices. A smartphone acting as an NFC terminal may block applications and/or protocols other than NFC data exchange formatted (NDEF) messages. An ICC applet supporting an advanced function uses designated memory locations for the transfer of commands normally supported at an application level. Both the terminal side and the ICC applet may check the designated memory locations for updated data in the absence of protocol-level message controls.

Systems and methods for personal verification for autonomous vehicle deliveries
11556970 · 2023-01-17 · ·

In accordance with aspects of the present disclosure, an autonomous robot vehicle is disclosed. In various embodiments, the autonomous robot vehicle includes a conveyance system, a securable compartment configured to autonomously lock and unlock where the securable compartment contains an item for delivery to a particular individual, a personal identification reader, at least one processor, and a memory storing instructions. The instructions, when executed by the processor(s), cause the autonomous robot vehicle to, autonomously, travel to a destination location of the particular individual, capture by the personal identification reader at the destination location a personal identification object, determine that the captured personal identification object matches an identity of the particular individual, and unlock the securable compartment based on the determination.

An autonomous robot vehicle includes a front side and an energy absorbing system. The front side includes a front bumper and a front face including a frame defining a cavity. The energy absorbing system includes an energy absorbing member mounted in the cavity of the frame, and an inflatable airbag. The energy absorbing member is configured to reduce impact on an object struck by the autonomous robot vehicle. The inflatable airbag is mounted on the front side of the autonomous robot vehicle such that when the inflatable airbag is deployed, the inflatable airbag is external to the autonomous robot vehicle.

Systems and methods for a mixed fleet transportation service

Systems and methods are disclosed for providing transportation or delivery services using a fleet of mixed vehicles. A computer-implemented method of providing services using a fleet of mixed vehicles includes receiving at a server a request for a service, determining parameters for the service, selecting by the server a vehicle from a fleet of mixed vehicles to perform at least a portion of the service based on the determined parameters, and transmitting a message to the selected vehicle to perform the at least a portion of the service. The fleet of mixed vehicles includes at least two of: a semi-autonomous vehicle, a fully-autonomous vehicle, a vehicle remotely operated by a human, or a human driven vehicle.

Activating an output component to indicate an orientation of a near-field communication (NFC)-capable transaction card

A transaction card may monitor an amount of electric current induced in a first near-field communication (NFC) component of a transaction card. Electric current may be induced in the first NFC component when the first NFC component is within an electromagnetic field generated by a second NFC component of a transaction terminal. The transaction card may dynamically activate one or more output components associated with the transaction card based on the amount of electric current induced in the first NFC component. The one or more output components may indicate whether the transaction card can communicate with the transaction terminal. The transaction card may perform an action related to completing a transaction after determining that the amount of electric current induced in the NFC component satisfies a first threshold. The first threshold may indicate that the transaction card can communicate with the transaction terminal.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DIGITAL RECORD VERIFICATION
20230028371 · 2023-01-26 ·

A system and a method are disclosed that enable a mobile device to use an encoded tag to initiate and maintain communications with at least one remote server. The encoded tag is positioned to identify a point of interest, and in response to using the mobile device to scan the encoded tag, communications regarding the point of interest may be initiated. A single encoded tag may be used to obtain and update recorded information about the point of interest, to notify others about an issue related to the point of interest, to log into the system, and to wait to be alerted about an issue related to the point of interest. If an issue relating to a point of interest has been reported, the system and method may monitor the reported issue to ensure that an action has been taken to address the reported issue.

Locker adaption system and related method for consumer in-door, out-door and curbside goods delivery and pickup services and for merchant store pickup services
11798334 · 2023-10-24 · ·

The present invention relates to a locker and system for secured delivery of goods to consumer wherein the locker may be 1) positioned within a building or home such that one door is accessible outside the building or home and a second door is accessible within the building or home; 2) positioned on a property, potentially near a curbside and accessible to a delivery vehicle from a street; or 3) positioned at a commercial location such that one door is accessible to the public and a second door is accessible to the workers at the commercial location. Delivery may occur via drone or human with selected access given to the designated locker door. In accordance with the foregoing objects, an embodiment of the present invention generally comprises a service provider, a service client, an operator (seller or inspector), an end user (buyer or end user), and at least one chamber having at least one remotely controlled electronic door in communication with a service provider, service client, and/or operator.

Point of sale device with cradle for mobile computing device

A point of sale (POS) device includes a nest portion and a cradle portion. The nest portion includes one or more payment card or near field communication (NFC) readers. The cradle portion couples to differently-sized interchangeable frames, which in turn help secure a mobile computing device to the cradle portion of the POS device. The mobile computing device is connected via a connector to the rest of the POS device. Payment card information read by the readers is conveyed to the mobile computing device over the connector for processing. The POS device may also include tamper detection circuitry.

Optical identification of telecommunications equipment

Examples of the present disclosure relate to the optical identification of telecommunications equipment. In examples, a user interacts with an application to capture image data relating to a device according to instructions presented to the user. The application may further generate metadata, such as user responses to one or more questions. The image data and/or metadata are evaluated using a machine learning model to generate an equipment classification for devices pictured therein. The data may also be used to generate an equipment configuration for the device, as well as an operational state (e.g., based on one or more indicators present on the device, log data, etc.). Accordingly, such information may be used to update a pre-existing inventory record for the device, or generate a new inventory record. In other examples, such information is used to generate one or more predicted issues and associated actions to troubleshoot the device.
