GESTURE CONTROLLABLE MACHINE-READABLE SYMBOL READER SYSTEMS AND METHODS, WITH HEAD WORN INTERFACE

Systems and methods for capturing machine-readable symbols using a finger mounted indicia. The system includes an image sensor that captures a plurality of images from the field of view of the image sensor. An occurrence of a gesture is detected in the plurality of images, in which the gesture is represented by a trace of a number of movements of a finger mounted indicia. In response to detecting the occurrence of the gesture, an at least attempt is triggered to decode one or more machine-readable symbols represented in the images. The gesture may be used to indicate a region of interest that includes the machine-readable symbol. Such indication may improve the efficiency and processing time needed to detect and decode a machine-readable symbol.

SMART SURFACE COVERING AND STRUCTURE HAVING REMOTELY INTERROGATABLE ANTENNA NODE ARRAY FOR REMOTE INTEGRITY CHECKING

A method, system and surface covering for enabling wireless detection of damage to a structure is disclosed. At least one array having a plurality of nodes are coupled to a surface covering, such as at least one of a wall, ceiling and floor covering for a least a portion of the structure. An electronic reader is operable to wirelessly interrogate the array and read return signals from nodes in the array. The return signals contain data representing an ID for corresponding responsive nodes in the array, and the returned IDs are extracted and compared to a plurality of IDs stored in a data store for nodes in any given array. A mismatch between the returned and stored IDs for the nodes in the array indicates a structural defect in a respective portion of the structure overlaid by the floor/wall covering.

Wearable reminder for drinking

The present disclosure generally relates to drink reminder, and more particularly, to a wearable reminder for drinking in a bracelet or a finger ring form factor. One of issues that cause illness in elderly or persons with special illness or ordinary persons due to improper habit, is frequently they forget to drink enough amounts of liquid and this inadequate drink lead to dehydration. Using special drinkware which comprises bulky circuits and batteries is not convenient for users and people like to use their own personal drinkware, mug, cup or glass. This disclosure proposes a wearable reminder for drinking and can be used with any kind of drinkwares and only need to attach an active, passive or semi-active RFID tag to the drinkware. The user wears a wearable like bracelet or a finger ring and wearable reminds him/her based on predefined time schedule or condition.

RING SCANNER WITH COUNTING FUNCTION AND METHOD THEREOF

A scanner device has count buttons. A user can count the number of inventory by pressing the count buttons. Each of the count buttons is assigned a corresponding inventory count. The user can perform a quick and accurate count by pressing count buttons depending on the number of items recognized.

Wearable scanner

Some embodiments of the present disclosure provide a wearable scanner. The wearable scanner includes: a scanner body and a wearable portion. A wearing space for a user to wear is formed between the scanner body and the wearable portion; the wearable portion includes at least one adjusting section configured for adjusting a length of the wearable portion; the adjusting section includes a plurality of hole structures that are disposed in a circumferential direction of the wearable portion, and a plurality of air-permeable grooves formed by hole walls of the hole structures in a matching manner are provided on a surface of the adjusting section facing the wearing space.

Embodiments position a barcode reader, or other optical detector, to scan upright barcodes when the user's hand is in the neutral position. To do this, embodiments rest the body of the ring scanner device on top of the index finger, with the palm facing inward toward the user's body. Embodiments have integrated interactivity, including a touchscreen display and separate buttons that can be used to operate the optical detector and input data into an integrated computing device. The integrated computing device can run software applications on board the ring scanner device. Finally, the integrated computing device can be remotely managed.

Barcode scanner device and inventory management system

A barcode scanner device 200 is formed as a wrist watch with a main body 210 and strap 220 and includes a camera 211 to capture an image of a barcode 11. The scanner 200 generates an inventory request message sent by a communication interface 215 to a local server 30 based on the captured barcode. In a capture mode, live camera images may be displayed on touch-screen display 212 while capturing the barcode with guides and feedback for the user. In a display mode, inventory data from database 32 may be accessed in a large data field on the touch screen display 212.
