Passive and active stereo vision 3D sensors with variable focal length lenses
A stereoscopic 3D imaging system includes multiple imaging sensors with adjustable optics. The adjustable optics are variable to alter the FOV of each of the multiple imaging sensors to improve angular resolution of the imaging system.
PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION USING SENSORY INPUT
A first type of data regarding an unidentified product is collected. A first type of analysis on the first type of data is performed. A second type of data regarding an unidentified product is collected. A second type of analysis on the second type of data is performed. Based upon the first type of analysis on the first type of data and the second type of analysis on the second type of data, product identification for the unidentified product is performed. Based on the product identification, an identity of the unidentified product is output. A user is enabled to perform a business interaction with a product matching the identity of the unidentified product.
BARCODE SCANNER OPTIMIZATION
Disclosed are barcode scanners and methods for scanning a barcode. The barcode scanners and methods for scanning a barcode may include receiving a raw image from a scanner. Channel information may be extracted from each pixel of the raw image. A composite image may be created using the channel information from each pixel of the raw image. Finally, product information may be extracted from the composite image.
Determining object attributes using photoelectric sensors
Systems and methods are provided for determining attributes (such as size and location) of target objects (e.g., tires) utilizing photoelectric sensors. At least two photoelectric sensors are positioned at respective angles relative to a direction of transport of a conveyance mechanism such that the light rays emitted therefrom cross the width of the conveyance mechanism and cross one another at an intersection point. Based, at least in part, upon respective interruption times of the light rays by the target object, and a location of the interruption of the light rays relative to the intersection point, one or more attributes of the target object are determined. Systems and methods further are provided for determining a height profile of a target object utilizing at least one photoelectric sensor.
DEVICE FOR IMPLEMENTING A DETECTION FUNCTION AND METHOD FOR OPERATING SUCH A DEVICE
A detection device, which includes a scanning module, a detection module operated at a distance from the scanning module, and an evaluation unit. The scanning module includes a laser light source for generating a laser beam, a deflection unit to deflect the beam, and a control unit for controlling the laser light source and the deflection unit, so that the beam is moved in a scanning pattern. The detection module includes a light detector, with which the light of the beam reflected on an object in the beam path is detected and converted into a received signal. The first laser light source is controlled so that the beam is modulated as a function of its deflection and in this way is provided with synchronization marks. The evaluation unit identifies these synchronization marks in the received signal and synchronizes the received signal with the deflection of the beam based on them.
Portable terminal
A portable terminal including a grip section capable of being gripped by a hand of a user in a predetermined gripping style, a first switch section provided such that at least a pressing target portion is exposed from a first surface of a terminal main body and capable of being operated by an index finger of the hand of the user gripping the grip section in the gripping style, and a second switch section provided such that at least a pressing target portion is exposed from a second surface of the terminal main body positioned opposite to the first surface and capable of being operated by a thumb of the gripping hand of the user in the gripping style, in which the pressing target portion of the first switch section is set to require operating force greater than operating force required for the pressing target portion of the second switch section.
Intelligent indicia reader
Operating an indicia reader configured for hand held operation by a user is performed by controlling the indicia reader according to a plurality of configuration setting to: scan information bearing indicia (IBI); provide output scan signals representative of the IBI; attempt to decode IBIs from the output scan signals; tracking a plurality of decoding attempts and the at least one configuration setting used during the decoding attempts; and changing at least one of the plurality of configuration settings in response to the tracking without user intervention.
Method for setting tire pressure measurement device
A method for setting tire pressure measurement device applicable for a detection device electrically couple to an image code scanner is provided. The method comprises the steps of: providing a look-up table (LUT) recording a plurality of image codes, each of the plurality of image codes corresponding to at least one piece of manufacture information, and the at least one piece of manufacture information corresponding to a vehicle; capturing one of the plurality of image codes by the image code scanner so as to generate a scanning result; and based on the scanning result, the detection device selecting one of a plurality of communication protocols.
Method for making a transaction
In one aspect, a method is provided for making a transaction, the method including receiving, at a merchant system: a basket for purchase; and a unique code identifying a user. The method also includes reading, using the merchant system, one or more biomarkers from the user and identifying, from a database, a stored code corresponding to the unique code and one or more stored biomarkers corresponding to the one or more biomarkers. The method further compares: the one or more biomarkers with the one or more stored biomarkers associated with the corresponding stored code; or, the unique code with the stored code associated with the one or more stored biomarkers. If there is a match, a transaction based on the basket for purchase is made using a payment vehicle associated with the corresponding stored code; or, if there is no match, the transaction is declined.
