A printing apparatus according to an embodiment includes: a conveying device which conveys a record medium in a conveyance direction; a cutter which cuts out the record medium; a printing unit which prints an image on the record medium; a mark detector which detects a reference mark indicating a page start position of the record medium; a receiver which receives record medium type information; and a controller which, based on a content of the record medium type information, switches a cut position to be cut with the cutter between a first position being a position upstream in the conveyance direction by a predetermined one-page length from the page start position and a second position being a position shifted in the conveyance direction by a prescribed length from the first position.

A recording device includes a recording unit that performs a recording operation, a first storage unit that stores a first template associated with a recording form, a second storage unit that store a second template corresponding to the first template, and a recording control unit that takes the second template corresponding to the designated first template from the second storage unit and gets the recording unit to perform the recording operation by using the second template when a recording instruction containing data designating the first template is input.

One example of the present disclosure can include a server that can determine transport routes for individual objects based on rules. The transport routes can include an intermediary at which the individual objects are to be consolidated into a single container. The server can also receiving a request from a client computer for an object label corresponding to one of the individual objects. In response to receiving the request, the server can determine the intermediary based on a transport route for the object, generate the object label based on the intermediary, and transmit the object label to the client computer for causing the object label to be printed with a printer and coupled to the object.

An image processing apparatus for editing an image by using content images different in image size for the same content image depending on applications includes a data acquiring unit configured to acquire content image data having a predetermined image size; an image processor configured to generate image data of an image size corresponding to each application based on the acquired content image data; and a data storage device configured to store the acquired image data and the generated image data.

A printing system and method of printing are provided herein. The printing system may generate custom user designs for printing. The designs may be associated with a selected print medium. The print medium may have a particular layout. The printing system may convert the design for printing on other print media without requiring user alteration or input of the design. In another aspect, the printing system may facilitate printing the designs via local printers and/or via professional printers. Accordingly, printing of designs on different print-receptive media items can be accomplished.

According to an embodiment, a printer includes a display device and a controller device. The display device displays one of product information received from an external device and product information recorded in a memory device, as product-information-to-be-printed. When the printer is incapable of receiving the product information from the external device, the controller device controls the display device to display the product information recorded in the memory device, in a display mode indicating that the product-information-to-be-printed is the product information recorded in the memory device.

In a printing device, a supply portion is configured to convey a tape in its longitudinal direction. The tape includes: a plurality of labels arranged continuously in the longitudinal direction; and a plurality of storage elements provided on respective ones of the plurality of labels. A computer network system and method for printing accompanying information and prescription labels in pharmacies, comprises: a central CS; a PMS; a data transmission network through which said PMS and said central CS can communicate; wherein said PMS includes an I/O terminal, a scanner, and a first printer; wherein said PMS includes a PMS SO and a Catalina SO; said PMS SO is configured to receive and store prescription information for a prescription, and to associate a prescription identification with said prescription; said Catalina SO is configure to select accompanying information for said prescription, to format and save said accompanying information in an accompanying information print file; and said PMS is configured to print a prescription label for said prescription and said accompanying information print file.

In a printer, a controller determines a type of print medium currently mounted in a mount portion, and acquires a first set of print data correlated with a first medium type and a second set of print data correlated with a second medium type. In a case that a print medium of the first medium type is mounted in the mount portion, a print portion prints a first print image based on the first set of print data, and thereafter prints a second print image based on the second set of print data. A printer for printing on histology-laboratory consumable articles (16) includes an optical reading device (13), which reads an image pattern of a histology-laboratory consumable article (16) to be printed on by means of the printing device (4), generates analog or digital image-pattern image signals with regard to the read image pattern and transfers the image-pattern image signals to a control device (8) of the printer, and/or which reads an overprint (18) printed onto a histology-laboratory consumable article (16) by the printing device (4), generates analog or digital overprint image signals with regard to the read overprint (18) and transfers the overprint image signals to a control device (8) of the printer, which control device determines at least one quality parameter with regard to the overprint (18).
