Haptic interface with rotary encoder and method for adjusting a smart device
A magnetorheological transmission device and a method for influencing the coupling intensity of two components, which can be coupled and whose coupling intensity can be influenced. To influence the coupling intensity, a channel is provided, which contains a magnetorheological medium with magnetically polarizable particles. A magnetic field generating unit generates a magnetic field in the channel in order to influence the magnetorheological medium in the channel. An outer component encloses an inner component. At least one of the two components is mounted via a separate bearing. A distance between the outer and inner components at least 10 times as great as a typical mean diameter of the magnetically polarizable particles in the magnetorheological medium. The magnetic field of the magnetic field generating unit can be applied to the channel in order to selectively chain together the particles and/or release them.
Magnetic electrical connector for assistive devices
A magnetic and electrical interface that may be used with an assistive device. The interface comprises a proximal connector and a distal connector. The proximal connector may be attached to a liner for a residual limb and the distal connector may be attached to a hard socket or other aspect of an assistive device. Other aspects of and uses for the connector interface are also disclosed.

A system comprises one or more wearable devices including a first body interface adapted to be secured to a first bodily part. A second body interface is adapted to be secured to a second bodily part separated from the first bodily part by a physiological joint. One or more joints provide one or more degrees of freedom between the first body interface and the second body interface. A magnetorheological (MR) fluid actuator unit comprises one or more power sources. An MR fluid clutch apparatus receiving torque from the at least one power source, the at least one MR fluid clutch apparatus operable to generate a variable amount of torque transmission when subjected to a magnetic field. A transmission couples the MR fluid actuator unit to the wearable device for converting torque from the MR fluid actuator unit to relative movement of the body interfaces with respect to one another.
LINER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR APPLYING A LINER SYSTEM
A liner system for applying to a limb or a limb stump, with an inner liner comprising an inner side facing the limb or limb stump and an outer side facing away from the limb or limb stump, and an outer liner that comprises an inner side facing the inner liner and an outer side facing away from the inner liner. The outer liner is designed to be applied over the inner liner, with a sealing element which is designed to be separate from the inner liner and the outer liner, for arranging between the outer side of the inner liner and the inner side of the outer liner.
ADJUSTABLE SEAL SYSTEM
An adjustable seal system includes a suspension liner having a liner body and an outer surface. A plurality of seal bands are located along a height of the liner body. A seal component is arranged for removably securing to the liner body. The seal component includes open upper and lower ends defining an opening therethrough and an internal surface arranged to frictionally engage at least one of the seal bands and secure on the outer surface of the liner. The seal component also includes an upper portion descending to at least one seal, and a lower portion.
ELECTROMAGNETIC LOCKING ELEMENT FOR A JOINT ORTHOSIS OR A JOINT PROSTHESIS
An electromagnetic locking element for locking a joint orthosis or joint prosthesis such as a knee orthosis or knee prosthesis. The electromagnetic locking element includes a bistable solenoid with at least one coil and at least one permanent magnet, a pin, which can be retracted and extended with the aid of the solenoid for locking the joint, one or several electrical energy stores such as capacitors, and an electrical control system, which, with the aid of semiconductor switches, discharges the energy store or stores via the at least one coil of the solenoid in such a way that the pin is extended.

An adjustable seal system includes a suspension liner having a liner body and an outer surface. A plurality of seal bands are located along a height of the liner body. Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to the field of medical instrument, in particular to a sensor device applied in an articulation and an artificial limb system to improve control precision of the sensor. The sensor device of the present disclosure includes a plurality of magnets spaced apart from each other, the adjacent magnets having opposite polarities in a moving direction of the articulation; and at least one magnetic inductor for monitoring a displacement of the magnets caused by movement of the articulation.
WRIST DEVICE FOR A PROSTHETIC LIMB
A wrist device for a prosthetic limb is provided. The device (1) comprises a base member (3) connectable to the wearer of the device, and a support member (13) connectable to the limb. The support member (13) is pivotably connected to the base member (3) such that the support member can pivot about a pivot axis (A) relative to the base member. A damping mechanism is located between the base (3) member and the support member (5). The damping mechanism comprises a pinion (47) connected to the support member (5) and rotatable about the pivot axis (A) relative to the base member (3). A rack (35) is engaged with the pinion (47) such that rotational motion of the pinion causes a linear motion of the rack, and at least one biasing member (41) extends between the base member (3) and the rack. The biasing member (41) biases the rack (35) and support member (13) into a neutral position. A prosthetic limb incorporating the wrist device is also provided.

A system and method for a prosthetic assembly that includes a first prosthetic component, comprising a prosthetic hand base; a set of second prosthetic components, comprising a set of prosthetic fingers, and a set of actuating systems, wherein one actuating system connects a pair of distinct prosthetic components, enabling actuation of one prosthetic component with respect to the other. Each actuating system, from the set of actuating systems, includes a linkage and a sensored brushless motor; wherein the sensored brushless motor comprises a brushless motor, a field oriented control system, a rotary encoder, and a gearbox.
