PRODUCT BASED GIFT CARD
A method for allowing a purchaser to purchase an electronic gift includes providing code to a merchant that, when selected opens an overlay on the merchant's website, with the code being selected in association with at least one item available for sale on the website . The purchaser provides recipient and billing information using a device accessing he overlay. A service provider receives payment, in an amount at least equal to a purchase price of the item, and obtains an electronic gift card having at least a unique gift card number and a balance at least equal to the purchase price of the item. After the electronic gift card has been obtained, the service provider electronically notifies the recipient that the electronic gift has been purchased by the purchaser. The notification is viewable by the recipient and includes at least an identification of the item.
Gift card conversion and digital wallet
A method and a system convert the value of a gift card for use with a mobile device. The value of the gift card is determined from an issuer of the gift card. The value of the gift card is stored in a digital payment account in a storage device. The digital payment account stores values of gift cards from issuers. A financial transaction corresponding to the issuer of the gift card is performed on the digital payment account. The value of a first gift card from a first issuer of a first digital payment account is exchanged with the value of a second gift card from a second issuer of a second digital payment account.
Open tab transactions
A customer device generates an order for purchasing one or more goods or services from a merchant. A list of the purchased items is stored in a data structure designated as a tab. The list is routed to a merchant device. The customer device is carried by a user to the merchant. When the user reaches the merchant, the customer device or merchant device can receive a request to add an additional item to the list of purchased items. The tab remains open and modifiable until the customer device or merchant device receives an input to close it. Payment for the goods or services listed in the modified tab is processed upon closing of the tab.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANAGING AN ACCOUNT
An account is managed using information read from a dual frequency transponder. Information stored on the dual frequency transponder can be read by a NFC-enabled device and by a UHF RFID reader. The information links, corresponds, or otherwise provides access to account information stored at a remote server. For example, a NFC-enabled device can read the information from the dual frequency transponder and use that information to enable instant and on-the-spot recharging of a toll account. In addition, a UHF RFID toll reader can scan information from the dual frequency transponder and use that information to debit toll charges from the correct toll account. The dual frequency transponder can be embedded in a license plate and read using a reader placed in the road. Additionally, the transponder can be configured to function at the correct frequency only when a valid vehicle registration sticker is applied to the license plate.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND COMPUTER READABLE MEDIA FOR EVENT TRIGGERED EXCHANGE OF DIGITAL COMMERCE INSTRUMENTS BETWEEN DIGITAL WALLETS
The subject matter described herein relates to methods, systems, and computer readable media for exchanging digital commerce instruments between digital wallets. In some examples, a method includes analyzing a purchase history of a first digital wallet to determine one or more spending patterns for the first digital wallet. The method includes analyzing a repository of digital commerce instruments in a second digital wallet to determine, based on the one or more spending patterns for the first digital wallet and one or more available electronic gifts cards in the repository of digital commerce instruments in the second digital wallet, one or more recommended digital commerce instruments in the second digital wallet for transfer to the first digital wallet. The method includes transferring, over a packet-based data communications network, a selected digital commerce instrument from the second digital wallet to the first digital wallet.
System and method for retrofitting coin-operated lockers
A method of manufacturing an electromechanical locker system may include providing a set of lockers with coin-operated locks. The coin-operated locks may be removed from the set of lockers. A conduit may be extended along and connected to a frame member from which the coin-operated locks had previously been positioned. Electromechanical lock units may be attached to the conduit so as to replace the coin-operated locks. A retrofitted coin-operated locker bank may include a coin-operated locker bank including a multiple lockers having respective doors, where the coin-operated locker bank is free of coin-operated locks. A conduit may be connected to a frame member and extend vertically adjacent to the hinged doors of a column of lockers. Multiple electromechanical lock units may be attached to the conduit so as to replace the coin-operated locks.
AUTOMATIC LOCATION-BASED TRANSACTION SERVICE TRIGGER
A computer system can implement a network transaction service by monitoring location data from a computing device of a user to confirm that the user is located at a merchant location, receiving transaction data from a point-of-sale terminal of the merchant location, and confirming that the user has left the merchant location based on the location data. The computer system may then automatically execute a transfer operation to fund the transaction using a shared funding account of the network transaction service such that no direct payment interaction is made between the user and the merchant.
Tokenization platform for facilitating a token-based digital marketplace
In embodiments of the present invention, systems are provided for a management system that receives a set of item attributes of an item offered for sale and generates a virtual representation of the item based on the item attributes. In embodiments, a ledger management system may generate a digital token corresponding to the item and cryptographically link the token to the virtual representation. In embodiments, a buyer marketplace system provides a digital marketplace whereby users view virtual representations of items, transact for items, validate and redeem a digital token, and burn the digital token such that the digital token is no longer redeemable or transferrable.
Tokenization platform
In embodiments, a tokenization platform that enables gifting of items using digital tokens is disclosed. The tokenization platform includes a token generation system that generates digital tokens that are cryptographically linked with item identifiers and corresponding attributes of respective items, whereby the digital tokens provide digital representations of the respective items. The system includes a ledger update system that writes the digitals token to a cryptographic ledger and that updates the cryptographic ledger to reflect ownership data of the items, thereby facilitating transactions for the items using the digital tokens. The system also includes a transfer system configured to facilitate gifting of the items using the digital tokens, wherein upon recognition of a gift instruction received from a device associated with a gifting user, the transfer system initiates a transfer of a digital token corresponding to respective item to an account of a receiving user via the cryptographic ledger.
Tokenization platform
A system that facilitates message-based transfer of digital tokens is disclosed. In embodiments, the system includes a tokenization system that generates unique digital tokens that are cryptographically linked to respective items, such that the unique digital tokens provide unique digital representations of unique units of the respective items. The system further includes an application programming interface system that interfaces with a messaging system that is configured to integrate handling of a digital token into a short messaging service, whereby transfer of the unique digital token from a first account of a first user to a second account of a second user is automatically executed upon sending a short message service message that incorporates the unique digital token therein.
