Gift card with balance indicator panels
A gift card includes a card body having a retailer's or credit card company name and logo, a pre-printed gift card account balance representing the balance on the card when initially purchased, and a user-fillable Card Balance data field which can be completed using an ordinary pencil or pen. The gift card also may be printed with one or more prompts, such as a graphic or written instruction, to provide a user with sufficient instruction to use the re-writable functionality of the present invention, and may include dollar and cents indicators to facilitate a user to write the current and updated balance clearly and accurately.
Token-based open-loop stored-value card network
A token management server includes a memory and a data processor. The memory stores a token database and a subledger database. The processor is configured to save a token in the token database in a record in association with a ledger identifier and a subledger identifier. The processor receives from a point-of-sale station a token authorization request that includes the token and an authorization value, locates in the token database the record that includes the token, extracts the ledger identifier and the subledger identifier from the record, locates in the subledger database a subledger that is associated with the subledger identifier, and confirms that a balance value associated with the located subledger is at least equal to the authorization value. The processor then initiates a transfer from a pooling ledger that is associated with the ledger identifier of a transfer amount that is equal to the authorization value.
Systems and methods for transferring a gift using an information storage and communication system
Systems and methods for using an information wallet system to deliver a gift and receive, redeem, or re-gift the gift are disclosed. The information wallet system's storage is securely maintained by a financial institution computing system (i.e. a bank) and receives and holds purchase transaction information. Purchase information transaction may be received from a user computing device or an entity computing system, such as a merchant computing system. In one embodiment, a user may purchase a gift through an online website or at a brick and mortar location and direct the gift to be deposited into the information wallet storage of a recipient. A recipient may then continue to hold the gift, redeem the gift, or re-gift the gift to another party.
PAYMENT DEVICE APPLETS WITH PRE-STORED MESSAGES AND TRIGGERABLE LOGIC
A system may include a payment card that includes one or more chips that are operable to utilize information in a payment transaction to enact different functions. For example, a payment applet in a contact chip transaction (e.g., contact EMV transaction) or contactless chip transaction (e.g., contactless EMV transaction) may utilize information that flows through the chip (e.g., country, time, date, transaction amount, approval status) to trigger pre-stored messages or functions (e.g., switch to a payment option or account). Information may be introduced into the chip during a transaction as a result of manual input from the cardholder on the cardholder's phone or other device. Thus, transaction scripting (e.g., EMV scripting) may be utilized to let a card (e.g., static or powered) know that a function (e.g., change of account) is desired by a cardholder and the chip may, if not in the proper account, reset and restart the chip in a mode associated with the desired function (e.g., in the desired account).
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DIGITAL GIFT CARD MARKETPLACE AND REDEMPTIONS
A system for a mobile gift card marketplaces is disclosed. The system may initiate a contactless payment at a merchant via a mobile app. The system may receive an authorization message based on the contactless payment. The system may execute an authorization process in response to receiving the authorization message to determine an authorized transaction. The system may validate the authorized transaction to determine whether the authorized transaction is associated with a customer. The system may execute a merchant validation process to determine if the authorized transaction is associated with a merchant. The system may determine an available gift card account balance of the customer associated with the merchant in response to determining the authorized transaction is associated with both the customer and the merchant. The system may execute a gift card redemption process to redeem the available gift card account balance of the customer associated with the merchant.
Retrieving hidden digital identifier
A method of providing access to securely held data is provided. A user interacts with the service provider to obtain access to a service by using a device to provide a digital identifier to the service provider, without the digital identifier being made known to the user. At a later date the user wishes to retrieve securely stored data relating to their use of the service. However, because the user does not know the digital identifier, they are unable to identify themselves to the service provider using the digital identifier. The present disclosure provides a secure method for exchanging private identifiers, which allows the user to identify themselves to the service provider in order to gain access to securely stored data relating to the user's previous use of the service. The user can do this using the device on which the digital identifier is stored, or another device.
System and method for enabling a user to select a securable device throughout multiple securable device stations
A system and method of provisioning a securable device may include providing a plurality of securable device stations, each securable device station including (i) a controller and (ii) a set of securable devices in local communication with the controller, the controller being configured to enable a user to initiate access to a securable device from a set of securable devices. In response to a first controller of a first securable device station receiving (i) an access indicia and (ii) rental parameter that enables the user to access a securable device located in at least two of the securable device stations from a user, the first controller may communicate the access indicia and rental parameter to a network address that enables, by a second controller, the user to access a securable device at the second securable device station as provided by the rental parameter.
Systems and methods for managing an account
An account is managed using information read from a dual frequency transponder. Information stored on the dual frequency transponder can be read by a NFC-enabled device and by a UHF RFID reader. The information links, corresponds, or otherwise provides access to account information stored at a remote server. For example, a NFC-enabled device can read the information from the dual frequency transponder and use that information to enable instant and on-the-spot recharging of a toll account. In addition, a UHF RFID toll reader can scan information from the dual frequency transponder and use that information to debit toll charges from the correct toll account. The dual frequency transponder can be embedded in a license plate and read using a reader placed in the road. Additionally, the transponder can be configured to function at the correct frequency only when a valid vehicle registration sticker is applied to the license plate.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING INSURANCE POLICIES WITH PREDESIGNATED POLICY LEVELS AND REIMBURSEMENT CONTROLS
A computer-implemented method including predicting, using a trained computing model, one or more item categories for a user, the trained computing model being trained based on at least one of image data, personal possession data, claim data, or reimbursement data. The method also can include generating a plurality of predesignated policy levels for the user based at least on the one or more item categories, as predicted, wherein the plurality of predesignated policy levels cover one or more insured item categories. The method additionally can include receiving a selection by the user of a predesignated policy level from among the plurality of predesignated policy levels. The method further can include receiving a claim from the user. The method additionally can include generating one or more reimbursement controls for the one or more insured item categories based at least on the claim and the predesignated policy level. The method further can include programming a payment device to include the one or more reimbursement controls for the one or more insured item categories to pay the claim.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR READING FLAT CARDS
The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods that enable scanning of any type of card regardless of the shape and design of a given card and/or a font, a shape and a format with which characters such as numbers, letters and symbols are printed on the cards including cards with non-embossed characters printed thereon. In one example, a method includes scanning a card, the card including at least an account number associated with a user of the card and an identifier of the user; detecting, by applying a machine learning model to the card after scanning the card, at least the account number printed on the card; and completing a task using the account number.
