System and method for managing gifts

Disclosed are systems and methods for processing gift transactions. An example method includes receiving an identification of a first merchant from a giver at a first time, wherein a gift from the giver to a recipient is redeemable at the first merchant. The method can include generating a policy comprising the first merchant. The policy can be at least in part giver-defined and linked to the recipient payment account. The method can then include transmitting an electronic notice to a recipient device, receiving a selection from the recipient of a second merchant at which to redeem the gift from the giver, updating the policy to apply to the second merchant selected by the recipient to yield an updated policy and, upon receiving an indication of a triggering event caused by use of the recipient payment account as defined by the updated policy, applying an amount of money to the gift.

Increasing Efficiency of Transaction Network

The present disclosure is directed to increasing the efficiency of a transaction network. For example, a method includes receiving, through a communication network, digital information identifying a source network address for a sender, an funding source, a value, and a destination network address for recipient. A notification including digital information identifying the sender, an original prepaid item, the value, and alternative prepaid items is transmitted through the communication network. A response identifying one or more of the alternative prepaid items is received. A request to convert the value assigned to the original prepaid item to one or more values assigned to the one or more of the alternative one or more of the alternative prepaid items based on one or more predefined exchange rates is transmitted to a network element associated with the one or more of the alternative prepaid items.

STORED-VALUE CARD MANAGEMENT METHOD AND SYSTEM

A computerized system for activating, issuing and otherwise managing transactions and activities pertaining to stored-value cards over a communications network. A central information database is provided for storing stored-value cardholder and card purchaser information received directly from respective stored-value cardholders and card purchasers PCs through a universal central processor via respective communication gateways. The central processor is coupled for communication realtime to multiple unaffiliated stored-value card processing networks normally operated by respective hosts. Each network includes a stored-value card processor coupled to a stored-value card database and multiple respective merchant communication devices. The central processor is programmed for managing the activation and issuance of transactions and activities for the stored-value card through the respective unaffiliated networks. The universal central processor is programmed to issue the stored-value cards directly to the cardholder or card purchaser by download over respective communication gateways. The universal central processor is further programmed for reporting the card activations, issuances, transactions and activities to the cardholders and the merchants thereby providing a universal management system.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MANAGING THE DISTRIBUTION OF AID OR BENEFITS INVOLVING MULTIPLE PARTNERS SHARING AN INFRASTRUCTURE

A method for managing programs associated with multiple entities on a payment card includes: storing lease profiles, each lease profile including a lease identifier, managing identifier, transaction account numbers, and one or more tenant identifiers; receiving a management request, the management request including a specific lease identifier, specific managing identifier, and requesting tenant identifier; identifying a specific lease profile that includes the specific lease identifier; verifying that the specific managing identifier corresponds to the managing identifier included in the specific lease profile; inserting the requesting tenant identifier into the specific lease profile; receiving a program request, the request including the specific lease identifier, the requesting tenant identifier, and program data; and transmitting the program data to a payment card corresponding to one of the transaction account numbers included in the specific lease profile.

TRACKING A PLURALITY OF CONDITIONS FOR AN EXCHANGE ITEM

A method includes a marketplace server tracking a plurality of conditions for a plurality of exchange items, where an exchange item has a record that includes an exchange item information field that includes information regarding the exchange item, a conditions field that indicates one or more conditions, and an exchange item rule field that includes one or more exchange item rules. The method further includes determining, for the exchange item, a corresponding condition is compliant with the one or more exchange item rules, wherein the corresponding condition is compliant when a value of the corresponding condition exceeds a threshold value of a corresponding rule of the one or more exchange item rules. The method further includes modifying the information regarding the exchange item based on the one or more exchange item rules and updating the record in the exchange item database based on the modified exchange item information.

Stored-Value Instrument Purchase Functionality for Online Shopping Systems
20220358486 · 2022-11-10 ·

Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing stored-value instrument purchase functionality for online shopping systems. In various embodiments, a computing system might assess content and/or information presented in a checkout page of a retailer website, the checkout page listing items selected by a user for purchase and a total purchase amount. The computing system might autonomously modify the checkout page by generating a user-selectable option therewithin, the user-selectable option comprising an option to purchase the items using a gift card available for purchase from a service provider. In response to selection of the user-selectable option, the computing system might provide a purchase interface that presents the user with a process to purchase a gift card having a gift card value. After completing purchase of the gift card, the computing system might apply the gift card value toward the total purchase amount within the checkout page.

Systems and methods for locating objects and related facilities

The disclosure relates to interactive and adaptive systems and methods for tracking location-sensitive objects. An example method includes presenting a first set of user interfaces for receiving a visual image of the location-sensitive object, and using the image to determine an identifier and identify a geographic location. The example method also includes transmitting the identifier and the location to a remote computing device, and in response to receiving location-specific requirements. A second set of user interfaces may be generated and presented to guide a user to comply with the location-specific requirements.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TRANSFERRING VALUES IN REMOTE DATABASES
20220351164 · 2022-11-03 · ·

A method includes receiving a communication identifying a remote database and a first value stored in the remote database that is being transferred to a first entity by a second entity. That first value is capable of being modified by the second entity. Modification of the first value stored in the remote database by the second entity is prevented by identifying an application programming interface allowing operations to be performed on the remote database, and using that API to transfer the first value so as to be associated with one or more other identifiers unknown to the second entity. After modification of the first value stored by the second entity is prevented, a transfer of a second value to a database record associated with the second entity is triggered. Related systems and applications of the method and those systems are also disclosed.

SYSTEM FOR MAPPING A TEMPORARY ACCOUNT IDENTIFIER TO A COMPROMISED ACCOUNT IDENTIFIER
20170316402 · 2017-11-02 ·

A computer-implemented method for linking a prepaid account to a compromised account for processing payment transactions using an account mapping computing device is provided. The method includes receiving a mapping request for linking the prepaid account to the compromised account. The method further includes storing a mapping entry linking the prepaid account identifier to the compromised account identifier and receiving an authorization request message representing a transaction initiated by a cardholder using the prepaid account. The method includes detecting that the received prepaid account identifier has a corresponding mapping entry stored and updating the received authorization request message by replacing the prepaid account identifier with the linked compromised account identifier. The method includes transmitting the updated authorization request message that includes the compromised account identifier and storing transactional information associated with the processed transaction associated the compromised account.

Converting exchange items associated with static exchange item identifiers into dynamically identified exchange items

A method includes a marketplace server establishing one or more security parameters for an exchange item and securely providing the one or more security parameters to a user computing device of the data communication system. When the user computing device desires to use the exchange item, the method further includes generating, by the user computing device, first dynamically secure exchange item data. The method further includes the marketplace server receiving the first dynamically secure exchange item data from the user computing device, generating second dynamically secure exchange item data, and comparing the first dynamically secure exchange item data with the second dynamically secure exchange item data. When the first dynamically secure exchange item data substantially matches the second dynamically secure exchange item data, the method further includes authorizing, by the marketplace server, the use of the exchange item by the user computing device.
