An accounting system according to a first embodiment includes a receipt printer that receives transaction information including character strings representing details of a transaction. The receipt printer generates and transmits electronic receipt data which includes a set of character codes that represents at least one of the character strings included in the transaction information. An information processing apparatus receives the electronic receipt data transmitted from the receipt printer, determines a category of the at least one of the character strings represented by the set of character codes included in the electronic receipt data received from the receipt printer, stores the set of character codes included in the electronic receipt data received from the receipt printer in association with the determined category, and displays details of the transaction including the determined category.

Systems and methods are provided for use in performing donation transactions between donors and donees. One exemplary method includes obtaining, by a computing device, an identifier for a donee device associated with a donation account for an individual donee and accessing data for the donation account based on the identifier. The data, associated with the donation account, may include at least one donation goal for the donee, at least one spending restriction for the donation account, and/or an image of the donee. The method also includes displaying to a donor, by the computing device, the accessed data for the donation account and then soliciting a donation from the donor for the donee. The method further includes causing a payment account transaction for the donation, whereby when the payment account transaction is authorized, the donation is appended to the donation account for the individual donee.

A method for conducting a raffle comprising reading an item identifier from an identification tag affixed to an item at an equipment management system, prior to an event related to the item. The raffle notification data is then transmitted to users after the event has occurred. A plurality of raffle ticket purchase requests are then received from the plurality of devices and are processed. The raffle tickets are then delivered to the plurality of devices, such as in electronic form. One of the raffle tickets is then selected, and winning notification data is transmitted to the associated device. The winner can authenticate the winning item by reading the identification tag affixed to the item after the event at the equipment management system.

A knowledge graph is queried to retrieve an association information between a recipient of the communication and the organization or brand. The association information is matched to an interest of the recipient. The association information is also inserted into a smart contact card of the organization or brand. A method includes receiving a communication identifying a remote database and a first value stored in the remote database that is being transferred to a first entity by a second entity. That first value is capable of being modified by the second entity. Modification of the first value stored in the remote database by the second entity is prevented by identifying an application programming interface allowing operations to be performed on the remote database, and using that API to transfer the first value so as to be associated with one or more other identifiers unknown to the second entity. After modification of the first value stored by the second entity is prevented, a transfer of a second value to a database record associated with the second entity is triggered.
