Peer-to-peer prepaid card management system
A method for peer-to-peer prepaid card accounts can create a prepaid card that can receive donations through a QR code disposed on the physical card. Restrictions can also be placed on the card to control where or how the funds may be used. The method can, in response to receiving a request at a card management service to create an account, obtain account information, wherein the account information comprises a user name, an account number, a QR code image, and optionally a biometric data. The account information can be stored as a card account for the user, which is funded by receiving a payment from a second party using the QR code. Then, when a card holder uses the card for a transaction, the card management service can function as an issuer to authorize its use.
NFC enabled card for consumer accessibility
A contactless card useful for adjusting the operation, configuration, and/or performance of a secondary device is described. The contactless card is equipped with a communication interface which allows the contactless card to transmit information to the secondary device using NFC signals. The contactless card stores accommodation information related to a physical accommodation desired by the user and transmits that information in the form of an accommodation message to the secondary device after being placed in a NFC field generated by the secondary device. In some embodiments, the contactless card requests an authentication certificate in order to determine a degree of trust prior to sending an accommodation message. In some embodiments, the contactless card may adjust what accommodation information is included in the accommodation message based on the authentication certificate received from the secondary device.
METHODS FOR REMOTE TRANSACTION RECEIPT CAPTURE BASED ON EVIDENCE OF A TRANSACTION IN PROGRESS
A method is provided for remotely activating a transaction receipt capture process on a mobile device through a client application from a network-connected cloud-based money payment or wallet service in light of an account issued to a user and incorporated into the service. The method includes the user selecting an account listed in the service through the client application while connected to the service, the user receiving transactional data or otherwise confirmation of account selection, the user submitting the transactional data to a point of sale (POS) terminal, the POS terminal reading the submitted transactional data and approving or denying the transactional data, the service receiving notification of or discovering account activity relative to the user account selected, and the service sending a command to the mobile phone client application to activate a camera or scanning application feature on the mobile phone through an extension in the client application.
CRYPTOGRAPHIC SIGNING OF A DATA ITEM
it is provided a method for performing a cryptographic signing operation of a data item. The method is performed in a server and comprises the steps of: receiving, from a smartcard reader, a request for a data item to be collectively signed, the request comprising an indication of the data item and an identifier of a smartcard, wherein the collective signing requires the use of both a smartcard secret key and a server secret key for the collective signature to be valid; establishing a secure channel with the smartcard; collaborating with the smartcard over the secure channel to provide a collective signature of the data item, wherein the server bases the signature on the data item and a server secret key, wherein the server secret key is specifically associated with the smartcard secret key, resulting in a collective signature; and sending the collective signature to the smartcard reader.
TRIGGER PEER TO PEER PAYMENT WITH FINANCIAL CARDS AND PHONE CAMERA
The disclosure relates to initiating and completing peer to peer payments or peer to merchant payments initiated by financial cards and cameras of mobile devices. In some embodiments, the disclosed systems and methods may provide an accurate determination of parties involved in a peer to peer transaction, be useable with hardware and software that users are already in possession of, and securely initiate a peer to peer transaction. The disclosed systems may include a server communicatively coupled to a mobile device by a network. The server may receive an image of one or more financial cards, retrieve account information for each financial card in the received image, generate a proposed transaction based on the retrieved account information, transmit the proposed transaction to the mobile device, receive approval for the proposed transaction and initiate a payment or a transfer to an account based on the retrieved account information.
Systems and methods for transferring values in remote databases
A method includes receiving a communication identifying a remote database and a first value stored in the remote database that is being transferred to a first entity by a second entity. That first value is capable of being modified by the second entity. Modification of the first value stored in the remote database by the second entity is prevented by identifying an application programming interface allowing operations to be performed on the remote database, and using that API to transfer the first value so as to be associated with one or more other identifiers unknown to the second entity. After modification of the first value stored by the second entity is prevented, a transfer of a second value to a database record associated with the second entity is triggered. Related systems and applications of the method and those systems are also disclosed.
MULTI-FUNCTION ELECTRONIC PAYMENT CARD AND DEVICE SYSTEM
Embodiments include multi-function electronic payment card and device systems capable of generating a programmed magnetic field of alternating polarity based on a speed of a card swipe, and methods for constructing the device for the purpose of emulating a standard credit card. An apparatus is described to allow the device to emulate behavior of a credit card when used in electronic credit card readers. Additionally methods are described to allow user control of the device for the purpose of authorizing or controlling use of the device in the application of credit, debit and cash transactions, including cryptocurrency and card-to-card transactions. Methods are also described for generating a limited-duration credit card number when performing a transaction for the purpose of creating a limited-use credit card number, which is limited in scope of use to a predetermined number of authorized transactions. Furthermore the device may interact with other similar devices in proximity for the purpose of funds or credit/debit transfers.
Clerking Assembly
A clerking assembly for performing auction participant registration, tracking of items won, and payment therefor includes a housing, which has a microprocessor, a data storage module, and a transceiver engaged thereto and positioned therein. A card reader, a display, and a scanner are engaged to the housing and are operationally engaged to the microprocessor, along with the transceiver and the data storage module, which comprises a database. The card reader establishes an identity of a user for registration as an auction participant. The microprocessor generates a bidder number and a quick response code unique to the auction participant so that items won by the auction participant are associated thereto. The transceiver receives notification of the items won to allow updating of the database. The scanner scans the quick response code and the display presents the items associated thereto and a total cost thereof. Point of sale code enables payment processing.
Wearable device for event access, payment for offline transactions at the event, and visual light display
A wearable device receives ticket information for an event and information indicating a quantity of funds allocated from an account, associated with a user of a user device, to the wearable device, and stores the ticket information and the information indicating the quantity of funds. The wearable device utilizes a wireless component to pair the wearable device and the user device, and provides, to the user device and via the wireless component, the ticket information and information indicating access privileges for the event. The wearable device generates a token for a PoS device for a charge incurred at the event during an offline transaction with the PoS device, and provides, via a NFC component, the token to the PoS device. The wearable device provides, to the user device and via the wireless component, information indicating that that the token was provided to the PoS device.
