Method, apparatus, and computer program product for topping up prepaid payment cards for offline use
A card holder carries out an initial top-up of a balance of a pre-paid payment card. The prepaid payment card is configured for use in an infrastructure in accordance with a payment specification requiring different behavior for normal transactions in the infrastructure versus that required for topping-up of the balance. Contemporaneously with the initial top-up, the card holder registers risk mitigation information in association with the pre-paid payment card. Subsequent to the initial top-up, an indicator is written to the pre-paid payment card during a transaction with the pre-paid payment card outside the infrastructure. The indicator identifies the pre-paid payment card as having the risk mitigation information associated therewith. During subsequent presentation of the pre-paid payment card to the infrastructure, the pre-paid payment card is treated as a token backed up by the risk mitigation information, based on presence of the indicator on the pre-paid payment card.
DYNAMIC OFFLINE CARD AUTHORIZATION
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for generating rules to apply to fare transactions when a fare card reader cannot communicate with an authorization server, for generating historical data and a risk score for a fare card that are used by a fare card reader, with the rules, to determine whether to authorize access to a transit service when the fare card reader cannot communicate with the authorization server, and for selectively permitting or denying access to the transit service using the rules and the historical data or the score for a fare card.
Wearable device for event access, payment for offline transactions at the event, and visual light display
A wearable device receives ticket information for an event and information indicating a quantity of funds allocated from an account, associated with a user of a user device, to the wearable device, and stores the ticket information and the information indicating the quantity of funds. The wearable device utilizes a wireless component to pair the wearable device and the user device, and provides, to the user device and via the wireless component, the ticket information and information indicating access privileges for the event. The wearable device generates a token for a PoS device for a charge incurred at the event during an offline transaction with the PoS device, and provides, via a NFC component, the token to the PoS device. The wearable device provides, to the user device and via the wireless component, information indicating that that the token was provided to the PoS device.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR RELOADING PREPAID CARD
System and methods for managing value products such as stored value cards are provided. A computer-implemented system comprising: a first value product, wherein a first value product package identifier requires that all of the first value product's digital funds be redeemed in a single transaction; a second value product; and a specially programmed computer server, the methods and system allowing a user to use a portion of the first value product's digital funds in a first transaction and a remainder of the first value product's digital funds in one or more subsequent transactions.
System and method for storing credit on a value card or cellular phone rather than accepting coin change
A balance card the always maintains a balance between $0.00 and $0.99 that provides cents amount to any transaction involving a dollar amount and cents amount. If the card balance is high enough to cover the cents amount of the transaction, that is subtracted from the card. If the card balance is not high enough, the total transaction amount is augmented by $1.00 and the change amount from this is added to the card.
System and method for detecting and alerting risks of inputting incorrect account information in refill transactions
Apparatus and method are disclosed for detecting a risk in a refill transaction. The method may include receiving, from a user, a request for refilling an account, the request including account information associated with the account. The method may also include acquiring a contact information set corresponding to the user. The method may further include determining whether the contact information set includes the account information by searching in the contact information set for information matching the account information. In addition, the method may include providing a risk alert to the user if it is determined that the contact information set does not include the account information.
System and method for providing a user-loadable stored value card
A system and method in accordance with example embodiments may provide a user-loadable stored value card. Additionally, a system and method in accordance with example embodiments may allow an institution to receive a user-loadable stored value card activation request from a sender, activate a user-loadable stored value card using the information received in the activation request, and provide card management capabilities to the sender.
Connected payment card systems and methods
Methods and systems of managing payment cards are disclosed. A financial institution computing system includes a token database storing a plurality of tokens and token information, a network interface circuit enabling the financial institution computing system to exchange information over a network; and a token management circuit. The token management circuit enables a graphical user interface on a customer device over the network that can be used to generate new token requests, re-provision token requests, and management requests. The management requests enable and disable tokens, such that transactions against a payment card account using an enabled token are completed, and transactions against the payment card account using a disabled token are denied.
MOBILE DEVICE PAYMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
A mobile device payment system and method, the method for a mobile device user to purchase goods/services from merchants with financing by a mobile device manufacturer including: providing a mobile device; establishing a user account; establishing merchant accounts; transforming the merchant accounts into a universal merchant account data set; providing the universal merchant account data set to the mobile device user; storing the universal merchant account data set; requesting the mobile device manufacturer to load consumer credit; loading the credit amount; identifying goods/services for purchase; determining a total price for the identified goods/services and a merchant identifier associated with the selected merchant; actuating a purchase button; retrieving merchant bank deposit instructions; retrieving purchase credit; and routing the retrieved credit to the selected merchant in accordance with the retrieved merchant credit deposit instructions.
DETACHABLE RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION SWITCH TAG
A radio frequency identification (RFID) switch tag is disclosed. This RFID switch tag includes a base component having an ultra-high frequency (UHF) booster, and a detachable component having at least one UHF RFID module and a high frequency (HF) RFID module. In some embodiments, the detachable component is positioned in close proximity to the base component in a first configuration of the RFID switch tag such that the at least one UHF RFID module is sufficiently coupled to the UHF booster in the base component to form an UHF RFID system having a desired performance. The detachable component can also be separated from the base component to obtain a second configuration of the RFID switch tag, and the HF RFID module remains functional within the detached detachable component so that the detachable component can be used as a standalone HF RFID tag.
